And when a person comes from the Abbey, in some fics, they tied to be generous and very, very depressed. That sick me. If they come from the abbey, they must be strong and rude. Not gentle and weak. Do u understand me?

And also, as far as I know, they Abbey was a male only training facility. So if the OC is a girl... uhh... yeah.

people who write only yaoi fanfics can be called lazy because they can't make the effort to make a decent OC. Female OR male.

I don't like to write OCs, but not because I am lazy (lets face it: I am), but because I prefer to work with the canon characters. When I write, I tend to think that if it's a Beyblade fic it should have Beyblade characters; So if I'm going to write OCs, I prefer to do it in an original story.
But I think that just works with fanfictions focused on the OC, when the OC is a secondary character (and helps the plot development) I don't mind.

*re-reads what she just wrote* I don't think I make much sense here.

Exactly my point! Lately I only use OC's as secondary characters with the focus on the original beyblade characters, and I see that people are more interested. It's just way more appealing. And to talk about the abbey stuff. A girl in the abbey is practicly impossible... as a trainy that is. I do see a few female scientists working in the abbey.

One reason I don't write fanfic anymore. My OCs alway took the limelight and had the story circle around them. And I can never write the original characters right.
On the abbey the girl in the abbey had been played so much it's lost all interest.

I had read on Gaia

You're on Gaia!
*gasp*
can I friend you?

---back on topic---

Some anime's just have it very obvious that they do have yaoi hints,
but still,
that does not mean that the yaoi couple is canon when it's in the anime,
it's just in the Yaoi kingdom
Let's take............
hmmmm........
Hiei/Kurama
from YYH
I have come to the conclusions that they possibly are a canon couple,
from all the hints i've seen, they look it,
Togashi-san said,
Quote:

They were not mean't to be lovers, but in the end,it became a matter of opinon

and I've seen Kurama/Botan shrines and they say that Togashi said no,they aren't,
BTW,I found a KuraBotan Shrine where the girl is a yaoi fan of Y/K,
^__________________________________________^
I do like yaoi,please do not think I don't,
you will make Mizu-chan sad,
I only find most GFTA(Girl from the abbey) stories to be that she is cold,
but Kai falls for her,
I've also seen an all girl team,
where the bladebreakers fall in love with them,
I'm like "that's a defanite No,No."
And I don't think Kai would fall for a female OC that easily
Now,I don't know what I'm saying

How come I never read this topic?! >P

Anyway ... why Yaoi, not OC's?

Simple; I watch Beyblade for the characters. I like to read Beyblade for the characters I recognize and like. I don’t read fanfictions for female characters that I don’t know and frankly, don’t really care much about who trun out more ofthen than not, to be Mary-sue’s. Even if they’re not Mary-sues, they are most of the time cliched and stereotyped.

Things I notice about female OC's;
+ They are runaways of the Abbey (Yuriychan pointed out; a Male training facility.)
+ They move into the neighbourhood and are not what they seem and always seem to have a bad past that will come back to haunt them and their friends.
+ They are somehow related to the Beyblade characterrs. For example; Kai's cousin, even if Voltaire seems to have only one grandchild.
+ A girl from the neighbour hood whom they meet (Oop! Hilary already covered that.)
+ A rival Beyblade team (that seems to have team names similar to Beygals or Fallen Angels or something dark and mysterious) These girl team, always have one thing in common; they too have a stoic and mysterious team member (note: the Captain)

And many more, which I'm sure people who read them will know.

Of course, Beyblade does indeed have some female characters. I agree that most of them are characterized as being bitchy, bossy and/or a smart-ass, but I don't blame it on the characters, I blame it on the dubbing (and in terms of fics, bad characterization) - That beast from FY being an acception. She is an idiot on a whole.

And another thing; this being my own, personal opinion; Female chacaters, when starring opposite male characters, don't seem quite a pretty or as interesting. Does not refer to just anime though. ~.^

Almost like anime itself, Beyblade just came around the time where yaoi and yuri were being just as widely accepted as het. Because I distinctly recall a time where anything of the non-straight kind, unless it was something totally undeniably canon, was quite unheard of until the late 90s. ^^;

The overwhelming lopsided boy-to-girl ratio helps as well. Het might've had a stronger following in the Beyfandom had we not spent the whole first year living with only Mariah and Emily as the only candidates for straight pairings. Especially if you were me and didn't like Mariah or Emily as decent characters. And after the first season, a lot of the fanbase kind of stuck to their initial preferences, I think. ^^; It just doesn't feel like there was a lot of change during VForce. At least, not a very significant one.

Naturally, there's the OCs, but you know, I sooooo don't give a s**t about OCs anymore. -_-; I've got plenty of good reasons for feeling that way, so I just decided not to bother with the fanmades of Beyblade. Most of them are Mary Sueish wastes of time either way, and like it was already said, some people just aren't into them. And you can't blame them for that, I mean... if you wanna check for cool stories and stuff, it's not too much to ask if the story actually focuses on the real characters in the show... of course, since there's such slim pickings in the canon female cast, OCs will be sticking around for pretty much forever. X_x; Feels like to me that OCs are the pretty much the het-strict's haven of choice rather than actually resorting to the real het pairings.

Still, Beyblade, like Digimon, is just full with a lot of characters that all have some twisted form of interaction with each other. And various situations make it open to alllll kinds of pairing madness. Same with het and yuri... Beyblade's just one of those special shows that can easily be turned into soap operas. ^^; So no matter which way you swing, Beyblade's always been a rich crop of relationship goo that nobody can seem to resist very well. XD I've stopped discerning yaoi from yuri and het ages ago, so that's all I can really offer.

I kinda agree with Shinneth. And its the twisted interactions she mentions that makes Beyblade and Digimon yaoi so stimulating, so addicting, that all it takes is one ep and you're hooked. Although, the thing that hooked me to Beyblade was Griffolyon and Robert, (not as a pairing) but still.

My reason is:

All in the series of beyblade have some yaoi

In season one: KAi and Rei at the end of the series
In season two: Kai and wyatt
In season three: Daichi/Tyson, Daichi/Tala (I got that idea during the series), TYSON AND KAI

Yeah. But not the female scientist in the abbey! I claim the idea! ^^;

But I claim the idea of female doctor with scientist doctor who used to work at the Abbey ^o^

I just realized that I have indeed [sigh] written an OC once, in my first ever DBZ story. But that story sucked eggs so I deny all of it. Currently rewriting it.

On-Topic.

I dislike OC's with a passion. End of story.
