One reason is,
Beyblade lacks Female characters A LOT. They maybe have Miss Kincaid, Kenny's mom, Mariam, Mariah, Hilary, Mingming... but compare to other anime, those females are just too few.

Another is,
Beyblade have so many yummy bishounens... Say "Yeah!" If you agree with me.

Hey, More!!!
Friendships among these boys are SO MUCH CLOSE! yeah... too close yet so tight.
Especially Kai, some kind of Balmung of .hack type that is a lonewolf, yet so cool and good-looking. His silent attitude can be irritating but his looks chase those annoyed look of yours away.

Hmm... another one?
It is common that a fanatic of anime with so many bishounens but less female are likely to have a mind that is now looking for a yaoi of that particular anime.

More reasons... I just cant take them out of my head.

There's a lot of reason if u ask me..

-Beyblade is Japanese. In Japan they dont mind and worry about 'gays' and they made a lot of animes with this sexual preference. (Example? Gravitation)

-It's not friendship. All the character there has a little 'feeling' for Kai, in my opinion. (C'mmon.. Who not?)

I cant think in more...sorry. I had a headache -_-

I still think everyone loves Tyson :P Especially in G Rev *laughs*

I think practically all anime can have yaoi fans though ^^;; Unless, of course, its all girls.. then i guess there's yuri, but there doesn't seem to be as much of that ^^;; Beyblade actually reminds me a geat deal of Prince of Tennis... lots of hott anime guys that all seem so very tight knit "friends" XD

*hmms* What can I remember from TnK's yaoi thread?

Generally, guys like yuri.. thus you would -think that- girls would like yaoi. It's all the equality being pushed for in our culture.. not to mention the increasing amount of sexual stuff on TV, in music, etc. <_<

People like yaoi because they can? Because they like the idea of two boys falling in love? Or some.. even because they want to be part of the gang (which is the biggest load of bull---- I've read)? Due to other reasons (go back, read about guys liking yuri.. hm)?

The lack of female characters in Beyblade is merely an EXCUSE. There are enough there to warrant some decent straight pairings, but it's just ignored because the girls seem to be portrayed as b-tches. Not so much in the show/manga itself.. but by the fandom.

Plus, people can't be bothered making their own OCs properly? People say that all girl OCs are Mary Sues? No. A character may seem Mary Sue-ish to begin with but if you keep working on them, developing them, making them perhaps more likable, put some EFFORT into them, they can become decent characters. I've seen several good female OCs. But I know some rabid yaoi fans will call them Mary Sues no matter what you say to try and change their mind. Weak excuses on their behalf.

For fanfics.. due to one person's opinion that I had read on Gaia, people who write only yaoi fanfics can be called lazy because they can't make the effort to make a decent OC. Female OR male. Curious; Has anybody made a male OC for a yaoi fic? Or even for a straight pairing? Of course, OCs aren't always required. But with the abundance of yaoi fics, it makes you wonder. If -I- wrote a yaoi fic, I would be liked simply because the fic was yaoi?

There was one last thing I could have said, about all 'love' in Beyblade being about friendship and not romance.. but there's the whole KaiTaka thing.. which is a matter of opinion. I can't speak for canon anymore.

I can't remember anything else right now. And excuse my weird English in all that.

EDIT: For the person who said that yaoi was weird.. there's another reason for people to like it. It's not the 'norm'. But.. yaoi is so COMMON now that it IS the norm, and those that don't like it are unique. :D

That seems to be a running theme in many a fandom. Same thing in the PotC fandom - Elizabeth is frequently portrayed as being a bitch, or even more commomly a "hag", which is something she most definately isn't in canon. Methinks fangirls are just jealous of Elizabeth because she got to kiss omgORLI!!1one!1!

You know I personally got into yaoi because it widened possibe pairs everywhere. No really. I slash all possible guy/girl and guy/guy together. I just figured...why am I retrsicting myself only to het? I just really think it's just based on how we perceive characters and their relationship with each other.

Okay, not all female characters are b*tches, but there are still loads of them that are. I mean really... a lot of animes hav great guy characters, but the girls aren't as good for some reason.

Good OCs are terribly hard to find. I know a few, but overall... most of them *ARE* Mary Sue. I've been on the opposite spectrum of this argument saying how not all OCs are Mary Sue's, but let's face it. OCs have a rep of being Mary Sue. I'll even admit that the first OC I made was dripping with Mary Sue! I didn't realize it back then, but I see it now. I really do like reading OC fics, but I have a HARD time finding a good one. It's tedious after a while because it's the same thing over and over.

Now, because we're in the Beyblade fandom, OCs ae generally okay'd. However, if you visit any othe fandom in ff.n, you'd see that there's not even HALF the number of OC fics as we have in the Beyblade section. I don't know why it's like that. I read one OC fic in the Pokemon section and it *REALLY* lacked in reviews, but it was a *GREAT* fic. Some people ae just turned off by the idea of OCs.

Some people don't like OCs. I don't think it's very fair to call yaoi writers lazy because they PREFER to write yaoi. Some of my friends will never make an OC if their life depended on it. It's just not what they're into; they prefer seeing and using characters from the actual show. This goes for het fans too. It's like forcing somone to do something that the don't want to.

Beyblade just happens to be one of those animes where the friendships are even closer than normal. In real life, aren't relationships often rooted with good friendships? It's just the possibility of a relationship. Now all animes will blantantly sdeclare something.

I'm one of these people that skip fics with OCs in because I've read some really really really bad ones before and I guess it's put me off a little.

But when it comes to Mary-Sue's I'm begining to think they change from which fandom they're based on. I mean a very common think I see in characters in Beybalde fic is that they went to the Abbey. I know some people can make that work but other times it used so much that it just boring.

There are so many Mary Sue fics on ff.net that I quit looking further every time I go to the Beyblade section. Anyway... For the person who thought Yaoi is weird... It's a matter of opinion, but I must say yaoi certainly has his place in almost every anime fandom.

I love so far the strange yaoism of Kenny and Kai :D Nah, I mean Tyson and Kai... no... Make that Max and Kai (let me return the bitbeast for you!) Sweet!

No, make that Kai X Hilary!!! Yay!!! Kai paired with a girl! I remember saying Hilary when Tyson showed Kai's photo

"Is that Kai? Ohh... He's definitely cute!" -Hilary

I expect more yaoism on G-Revolution when it's aired in the Philippines.

(Opens the MS-Word to do the SiegXSieg Fanfiction...)

Bye!

Same here. I skip OC's fics if i can. I just had invented a OC and that was 'cause I really need it.

And when a person comes from the Abbey, in some fics, they tied to be generous and very, very depressed. That sick me. If they come from the abbey, they must be strong and rude. Not gentle and weak. Do u understand me?

That's why I prefer yaoi..
