In Tar Valon & the White Tower:
- An emissary has been sent to Cairhien to try to tie a string to the Cairhienin royal line.
- An expedition of Aes Sedai led by Andor's Daughter Heir, a newly raised sister of the Green Ajah, has been sent with a party of Asha'man to explore the fabled Land of Mad Men.
- There is some dissension between the Ajahs, mainly at the choice of leaders for the LoMM expedition between the Reds and the Greens.

In Caralain & the Black Tower:
- An apprentice to the Lord Captain Commander of the Children is having a dalliance with a wilder
- An emissary has been sent to Cairhien to verify whether or not the rumors of Prince Calnien's ability to channel saidin are true.
- An expedition of Asha'man led by the Fire Legion Captain has been sent with a party of Aes Sedai to explore the fabled Land of Mad Men

In Andor:
- There is unrest amongst the High Seats over the Daughter Heir being raised the fourth Aes Sedai in the Royal Line and with the current Queen, Moranna.

In Cairhien:
- King Dalmanecer seeks to create a national army, eradicating each Houses personal arms men.
- Queen Dahinen plots both against her husband, seeking to use the army he builds for her own devises and has ordered the kidnapping and possible assassination of Andor's Daughter Heir.
- Emissaries from both Towers meddle in Cairhienin affairs, vying for superior ties to the country.
