Cloud Atlas is an upcoming epic sci-fi/fantasy adventure-drama film written and directed by Lana Wachowski, Tom Tykwer, and Andy Wachowski. It was adapted from the 2004 novel of the same name by David Mitchell. With a budget of $100 million, a portion of which came from Warner Bros. Pictures, but most of which was raised from independent sources, Cloud Atlas is the most expensive independent film of all-time.

With an ensemble cast to cover the film's multiple storylines, production began in September 2011 at Studio Babelsberg in Germany.

The film premiered on September 9, 2012 at the 37th Toronto International Film Festival, where it received a 10-minute standing ovation. It is scheduled to be released on October 26, 2012 in conventional and IMAX theaters.

"Lana" Wachowski... Recently watched a show where "Larry" Wachowski talked about his gender reassignment to become "Lana" and it was fascinating.

Based on the trailer... wow... this should be a great movie.

Can't wait for it to come out on blu-ray so I can rent it.
Like Sean, I will probably be coming back to view the trailer again.

Going to see about reading this book before watching the movie when it is released.

I don't get too excited about many movies but this one struck a chord with me, I am going to see if my girls want to see it with me.

I've been slowly, very slowly reading Cloud Atlas and today we went to the movie.

I want to see this film about twenty-five more times. Excellent concept, costuming, prosthetics, etc.

It is confusing. Maybe after reading the entire book and watching again I'll have a better grip on the entire storyline.

It was an emotional experience though. We lack humanity in many ways.

We love just as deeply.

I think its the type of movie that needs to be seen several times to be able to absorb it all.
