Hey George, a good idea maybe is to stop society's indulgence in the most psychotic, heinous, killers and violence out there.

Look at the video games. Look at the movies. They all seem to be trying to top each other with the level of killing and violence.

Maybe we should go back to musicals.
If this third new dark knight film is as depressing and violent is the first two.. Little wonder something like this happened.

The only good Batman is Adam West.. Heroes should but real good guys. The whole Dark Knight thing is just a mean version of what was a real hero when I was a kid.

When the so called heroes today are as blood thirsty as the psychotic bad guys. Then they aren't good guys.

Give me the old days when a superhero was really a good guy or gal.

I think you may be right. Real life is dark enough as it is, we don't need it in our entertainment.

On the On Demand hot picks/Dark Knight there is a 11 mins. animation called The Specter. The yr. for this is 2009.

If you can see this. This is grim. The Specter is a reporter who is I gather dead and goes after the guilty. He torments them and kills them is a grizzly way. This thing was clearly too violent to get more then this 11 minute ep.

My guess this was from one of the more darker comics.

TV/Films and video games seriously have become far far too nasty.. The video games are the worst out there.

I have never seen anything in real life that could match the grimness I have seen in many of the so called superhero flicks the last 15 yrs.

We need to seriously go back to the days like the Chris Reeves Superman movies were made.

I can't believe that anyone wants to watch these dark dark grim films. There so bad for the psyche.

Yes, i agree. A few years back i decided not to watch any more of the murder/death/kill tv shows.

I think my limit was when Dexter came out. A series about a serial killer that kills serial killers.

At that point i had had enough.

What i meant was that i want to be entertained by the entertainment that i watch. A temporary escape from reality, but in a nice way.

I have heard about that show. What an insane idea that was.. Can't believe the kind of stuff some producers and creators will push out.

I understood what you meant. But I wouldn't want to go back to the stuff they showed in the 50's. My favourite yrs on tv were from 1960 to the early '80s

As for movies. I haven't cared much for the stuff made in the last 25+ yrs.

Most of us want to escape real life when we watch tv and movies. Or it used to be like that.

Recap:

News segment guests:Gary Ridenour, Lauren Weinstein
............................................................

Shape-Up America- Week 3

First hour guest, nutritional therapist Nora T. Gedgaudas, the 3rd weight loss expert in George Noory’s Shape Up America Campaign, argued that humans are basically designed to get their nutrition from complete sources like meat, fish, & eggs and what the USDA food pyramid suggests (6-11 servings of grains) is unhealthy. She also criticized the theory behind calories, which assumes the human body is a heat engine. Actually, the human body is a "complex biochemical factory and a calorie from a piece of bread is not going to get used the same way as a calorie from the protein or fat contained in a piece of fish," she explained.

Great Pyramid Theory

Author, lecturer and independent researcher, Steven Myers, has studied the Great Pyramid for over twenty years. During the middle two hours, he put forth his theory that the Pyramid was a functional machine and part of the infrastructure that served the ancient Egyptian civilization. Expanding on the concepts first proposed in the 1962 book, Pharaoh's Pump by Edward Kunkel, Myers said the original builders of the Pyramid used water locks along the Nile River to bring stones on barges to the building site, and the Great Pyramid was built level by level, with casing stones placed first. The casings were filled with water that possibly came from the ancient lake Maurice, he continued.

Rather than a tomb, the purpose of the Great Pyramid was for pumping water, which was used for irrigation, to power machinery, science experiments and other projects, Myers suggested. Damage over the years took out a lot of the moving parts, but there still remains a stone that slides in a slot up and down in an antechamber, and historians from the 1st century described a door on pivots that would open inward, he detailed. Myers believes the ancient Egyptians successfully changed the surrounding desert into a lush garden through the Great Pyramid, but eventually it malfunctioned due to structural damage in the King's Chamber and was unrepairable.

The last hour featured Open Lines, with updates on the breaking story of the Aurora, Colorado shooting at a movie theatre. George also proposed a consciousness experiment, asking the audience to concentrate on bringing rain to the drought-stricken Midwest within the next 48 hours.
