Do you think he's too fat? He really doesn't eat much, and very little people food but he did grow in a really thick coat of fur in the Fall which he didn't last Winter. Shedding is going to be a nightmare in the Spring.
Don't think about all those things you fear. Just be glad to be here.

Oh, seriously, it's pretty hard to tell just by those quick glimpses of him. You're sure in a better position to make a judgement call on that. He just appeared to be noticeably "broader" than the last shots I saw of him & I did not take into consideration a thick winter undercoat.

I'm probably touchier about fat dogs because we've had hip & leg problems in the past; and, I have to really try to watch Trapper's weight in the winter because she spends very little time running around outside........it seems to me that I'm barely feeding her enough but yet she's plenty "thick".

Romeo is so cute.

One of my dogs was overweight. When I bought the bowl with the three towers in it, apparently it looks like more food is in there than there really is so he has lost weight. He is a good weight now, about 10 pounds in January when he got his shots at the Vet's.

It wasn't the dog that was the problem, it was the human feeding him.

Some snow! Still too cold for it to melt too much.
You take it easy with all that shoveling.

Romeo looks great. First year with a full Winter coat.
I used to use scissors in the Spring and trim all the feathers on my spaniels. Then I'd brush the heck out of them. Sometimes I'd use the clippers and give them a buzz cut, usually in the Summer.
Might consider getting a furminator for shed time. Trim the feathers and then use the furminator outside.

furminator for dogs with fur longer than 2".

Wow! They have a furminator vacuum attachment now. Hadn't seen that before.
My choice? All the way down the rabbit hole.Posted Image

I said this on Facebook... but I gotta say it again... I really love your videos, Sean and hope to see more. That snow is pretty neat to a California girl!

The bowl with the three prongs/ towers helps Yoda too... we've had to seriously cut back on his food as well but I honestly don't know how much weight he's lost. He still seems like a tank to me, especially compared to Poppy. I will say that most people who see Yoda tell us, "Wow a pug that isn't fat!" That said, he could stand to lose a couple pounds for sure. Romeo seems broader than I remember but with his winter coat, it's making it hard to judge. As long as he's healthy... and he sure seems that!

The top of his head in the second picture reminds me of the scientist's hair in Independence Day.
