Victor stares in some amazement at the city proper of Augusta, marveling at the remains of a Pre-War Medical College. He had heard word of Augusta from a passersby and some people he had helped with mild medical problems. As soon as he knew that their was another center of knowledge out there, other than his Lost Paradise, he knew he must find it and be with people more to his liking. The road had been rough, taking him 11 days including sleep and rest, but know that he stood here listening to the educated murmurings of the people he knew he had found somewhere he could at least be moderately happy. ‘How horrid this world outside my little lakeside gem has been.’ Victor thinks to himself morosely. Before he had had a good job, a fine girlfriend, and a home without monsters around every corner. These facts had hastened his journey, as each mile put him further and further from his family and practice. ‘Bother with that shit.’ No point in crying over spilt milk. He pressed further inwards, towards the small throng of people gathered around a rather large dog. Victor had had a dog much like this one once, though smaller and less dangerous looking. “Are you men perchance selling this fine canine?” He inquired. The three men, who all looked somewhat similar, looked at him for a moment and took in his ramshackled appearance. “Don’t mean to offend sir, but you don't seem to be able to afford such a fine dog as this.” The tallest man, with slightly darker hair than the others pondered for a moment. “Though i do have a mutt, his names Archimedes, i'll sell him to you for a favor.” Victor was somewhat unaccustomed to being treated so lowly, but he knew that he was a stranger in a stranger land. “Well…. I could use the company..” He mulls the proposition around or a moment, scratching his newfound short beard. “What's the favor?” The other three men laughed for a moment behind their hands, almost like school girls. “The Mutts leg got crushed under a passing Brahmin, and he's no use to me now. You take him, patch him up, and get him out of my home and he’s yours.” |

James was tired after the hike up to North Georgia, specifically a place that a roadsign called Augusta. Up ahead he sighted some individuals whom looked strangely similar. He drunk from the canteen he'd gotten from the corpse of the Confederate who'd been bisected by the ants about 5 days before. However just after James had downed some of his sweet, sweet H2O he noticed that one of the people was wearing a longcoat with the Pre-War medical symbol on it. This intrigued James, driving him to walk up to them, politely wait for them to finish their comversation and greet the individual in the white longcoat with a simple. "Hello!" |
