He is appreciative and grateful for the small blessings especially and when not constrained by danger or time he will often seek to enjoy these things to the fullest from an ice cold nuka cola to a shady sky and a warm breeze in a relatively safe place. Abraham has no excessive desire to be 'rich' though he understands that it is easier for a wealthy man to be charitable then a poor man which is one of the main reasons he tries to make funds or collect things people might need so that he can be a blessing to their lives in their time of need. Abraham is slightly needy, mainly due to being separated from his family at a young age and then kept at arms length by the community. It is because of this that he is very charitable when he can be and will usually try and listen and try and understand people unless given reason not to trust them. Abraham is also very mannerly so expect him to hold a door or bless you when you sneeze unless you ask him otherwise. ---------------- Issac (people think the 4 is an A) as he is sometimes referred to as is as normal for the handy series, incredibly helpful and pleasantly upbeat. Isac is very hard working and takes his business very seriously, after-all it's his purpose in life. Isac might be a little gullible sometimes but has a heart of gold and would surely do anything in his power to protect a valued customer or co-worker. While Isac will attempt to resolve conflicts at times his general programming and peoples inability to truly take robots seriously leaves him in an awkward position where he often has to accept their opinion on a matter or defer to an organic 'superior'. It is for this and general maintenance reasons that Isac has acquired a supervisor and tends to differ to the requests of the person wearing the manager tag, unless of course it's an obvious situation that this person has not been assigned to the position (ex: Someone snatching the tag off the managers jacket and wearing it themselves in front of Isac). Abraham's Appearance: Abrahams appearance is similar to a young mr House. His hair is oily and kept combed back and his mustache is kept trimmed pencil thin along his upper lip and his face is kept well shaven. His eyes possess a gentle green color to them that accents his mildly tanned skin from traveling the roads fairly well. His slender appearance and the confidence he carries himself with seems to suggest that he might look more natural in old world finery, however strangely enough he tends to wear very practical or functional clothing that one can do hard work in. *...Having trouble finishing this for some reason.* IS4C's Appearance: Isac has a build similar to most of the Handy series with a floating spheroid body and several tendril tool appendages. However it possesses four arms like the 'gutsy' series instead and its main bodies shell is covered in several nubs as well as many mail slot like portals. If one observes Isac long enough or requests a function he is not prepared for at the moment but possesses the right tools one will witness the arms crane up, deposit a tool connected to the arm in a slot, the slot closing around the nub attachment and the arm re-locking onto a new nub before pulling out a new tool. It is through this process that isac is able to use various implements in his job as a cook. Knives for cutting or spreading, a blunt instrument for tenderizing, three pronged manipulators for basic handling of things like plates or taking payment and many others. Also unlike the Handy and Gusty the front has a square like screen that is see through that allows Isac to bake, broil and even microwave! And of course the unit would not be complete without its 'Food-o-matic' label across the top of the sphere. To accent the robot a metallic 'sailor' like hat was added, this hat shifts and bends turning itself into a funnel through which various materials can be process through the patented food-o-matic food processor. Those who provide suitable materials can watch as the robot processes the materials and produces a gooey paste on a cooking tray inside its oven like cavity. This paste can then simply be baked into nutritious soylent blocks that unfortunately lack any real flavor, or you can watch and be amazed as the material is barraged with Microwave radiation to excite the cells and transform them into an all new form! Obviously radio's aren't the most prevalent technology in the wasteland, but you might be able to pick up strong signals all the way over to west Louisiana!" Finn seems a little excited, dropping down one of Is4c's panels to show off the machinations. "Look at this smooth work, color coordinated wires and everything. Anyway," Finn closed him up, screwing in the plating. "You might be able to listen in on hidden frequencies but it's a toss up. The university? Good luck. A couple of raiders with a signal jammer? Now you might be talking." Extra Eye - Finn tapped the eye stalk, still whirring and darting about. "This thing's a pain. It's gonna bounce around forever, but it'll be worth it. Is4c has the added benefit of thermal vision esque capabilities. Not in the sense of being able to see everything, but let's say there's a fire or gun shots in the distance? That'll ping it right off. He'll even be able to tell how hot food is, which'll be pretty nifty. No clue as to how accurate it is, it's definitely not sensitive enough to pick up human body heat however." Finn tapped it again and it characteristically blinked. "It'll also serve as a more accurate lookout. The zoom isn't anything to care about honestly, as far as I can tell you've got better long distance vision than it still, but it might be able to pick out details easier and the like. Sneaking up on you might have been a problem before, only someone with a real knack for stealth is capable of that now. I think it used to be a part of a security system. When it darts around like this it's looking for faces to signal off, usually the information would be sent to a database, but IS4C's memory and CPU processor isn't on a grand enough scale." Animatronic Ronald McDowell Head: This is terrifying, dismantleed to upgrade/repair Is4c's damaged thruster casing after showdown. Hooked into power as well, old thruster casing has reinforced the lips and internals of head allowing the mouth to move and even bite meaning it can close to keep something from getting into his internals easily. Character story: I.S.4.C is a part of the ISC series of commercial Food-o-matic handies developed in the year 2055 with the help of Big Mountain and finally produced and released in 2062 an attempt to help the public battle continuing food shortages during the war. The food o matic corporation unfortunately would not realize that this was another part of their experimentation in order to gather field research samples for the biological research station. They were originally tested in Denver where they produced fast food in exchange for money but also promoted food recycling with which people could pay and bring in organic matter such as fruit, vegetables or meat and it was processed into soylent green which could be baked into soylent cakes which were a long lasting and nutritious ration that unfortunately had no taste, or have it be converted into something of the users choice within the same type (plant to plant, meat to meat). Unfortunately the conversion was not perfect and so only created 3 pounds of soylent for every 4 pounds of matter with waste being processed through the reactor and incinerated. In order to promote the recycling feature further they began offering trades as well as sales, allowing people to give 4 pounds and have it converted to 2 pounds without charge, with the ISC series keeping the extra materials for general operations and resale. Thankfully by 2066 big mountain had obtained enough data from remote maintenance updates in order to perfect their soylent conversion process as the food riots of Denver took their toll on the ISC series as many were destroyed by vandals seeking sustenance or captured for illegal use. Those that weren't were mostly sold to private collectors or restaurants. Isac was shipped south to Texas for similar reasons and worked in a super market processing old produce and meat and cooking food in the restaurant area, at least until the bombs fell. Isac was rendered inoperal at the super duper mart he was employed at when he tried to stop the assault of a customer. It wasn't till much later that Abraham discovered the robot while he was scavenging the ruins of the super duper mart while trying to make a living as a prospector. It was obvious the super duper mart had been picked over several times already however thankfully it seemed that most of the scavengers seemed to just be looking for food and had left behind certain things he was looking for. Scrap metal and various component mechanisms like springs and wiring being being primary on his list and as he was picking up tin cans he made his way back to the deli department and there he found the slightly stripped remains of IS4C with a kitchen knife plunged through the chassis pinning it to the counter as if it was being sacrificed on some kind of alter. While he knew he couldn't restore the robot completely Abraham recognized that having a robot around would at least be useful as a pack mule if not more useful so after removing the knife he set to work hammering out the tin cans he had gathered to patch the removed pieces of hull so that it actually had an outer shell and didn't leave internal components exposed after he replaced the wiring that was severed and a few other basic components he was able to locate in the store. Now that Abraham had a partner to help him carry goods around he decided to become a traveling merchant and set out into the wasteland. It's not that Abraham had not done any traveling before but until this point he had stayed relatively close to a small community around Houston that had taken him in at a young age and tolerated his presence and taught him his trade and how to make an honest living hunting, gathering and prospecting so that he would contribute to the community after he was left orphaned from a raider attack. He would have probably stayed in fact if he felt he had better prospects for his future and the people actually considered him part of the community, unfortunately he was the lowest rung on the totem pole of the community and a relative outside which meant it was unlikely that he could find a wife and it was very likely that they would take away the robot he had found and restored. And so Abraham and IS4C have been traveling the roads the last five years trying to make a living while looking for a place to perhaps set down roots which has lead the pair to bucket town as Abraham assumed a hunting town could make use of Isacs services and would likely have plenty of materials for them to acquire at hopefully reasonable rates. Character strengths and weaknesses: Abraham Strengths Well organized and Groomed - Everything has a purpose and a place and you'll look both competent and professional when in action like this and probably wont do something stupid like packing eggs beneath something heavy. Animal Friend - When not acting obviously hostile or attacking most animals tend to ignore Abraham, while the relatively friend will come straight to him. Cooking and Cleaning - Due to years of working with IS4C Abraham has learned some basics about cooking and following US standards of hygiene and cleanliness. Hunting and Gathering - During his youth Abraham made his living hunting animals and gathering wild vegetation and some general prospecting. Minor Maintenance - When one doesn't have a specialist around they learn to make do and so Abraham has studied and practiced enough to keep his equipment and robot maintained... Well as maintained as limited tools and materials allow anyway. Weaknesses Not the face! - Abraham is not the bravest man by any means and is prone to flinching or cowering from obvious threats. Up close and personal - Abraham has no training in close quarters combat be it with weapons or unarmed and is likely to get his ass handed to him or hit ineffectually if he does manage. Vanity - Abraham enjoys acquiring things, especially things related to making himself look better. However because these things are also limited he will usually consider how to do this with the materials at hand and will probably waste useful materials on relatively useless crafts. The kindness of strangers - Abraham is very trusting of individuals until given a reason to otherwise believe so, especially when it's related to physical tasks that he is just not prepared for. A crippling need to feel loved and appreciated. He desires a family because he was deprived of one early on so he is seeking a relationship but often misassociates this with sex. This has caused him to have to move to a new settlement more then a few times. IS4C Strengths - Food and drink purification, processing, preparation and conversion. Does not need to eat, sleep or drink. Immune to radiation. 360 degree sight Tool use - While not a 'warrior', Isac is quite capable of integrating tools and using them in an effective manner making him very practiced at using things like meat cleavers, knives, pots and pans, rolling pins, plungers, etc. Advanced Hardware/software Weaknesses - EMP Can be hacked / reprogrammed / disabled. Requires occasional maintenance / power. Extremely helpful and protective unless ordered otherwise by a superior. No sense of taste - while the unit has 'sensors' that allow it to monitor various things about food, the fact that it cannot taste various creations is likely the greatest limitation on it's capabilities to become a truly great cook/chef. Ranged conflict - The ISC series was not programmed with algorithms for things like long ranged combat and so is not able to attack much further then point blank or a weapons first range increment. Up to three Traits: Abraham - Hunter, Marksman, Popular. Before I answer some questions, The Wastes, right now, doesn't allow robots as player characters. However to my knowledge that rule hasn't been questioned for about four years, and as such, I'M GOING TO TALK TO THE ADMIN ABOUT THE RULE CHANGE. I'll hit you up ASAP about it when I get the word back. In the meantime, let's go over some general questions.
1-10 is the SPECIAL range for ghouls, humans, and trogs, AND the maximum amount of points allocated for SPECIAL is 40. |

Ok thanks, was just making sure I didn't have to do any racial ranges for stats like in the normal fallout pnp where some have a minimum needed and others have a maximum lower or higher then 10. As for the robot thing I can most certainly build another concept if that's the case, or if robots are allowed as followers I could do that instead and play as his supervisor instead, I just enjoyed the idea of playing from the perspective of the robot instead of the owner. ~chuckle~ -------- On another note, are we restricted to the traits provided or can we petition for a unique trait/s if we feel it's appropriate for a concept? |

Congratulations amigo, your robot has pretty much charmed the entire mod force with it's culinary appetite. Basically, post here once you've finished, because you've got quite the seafood platter on your plate before we can get this robotic chef out into the wasteland. 1. This is technically a trial, so your success will or will not pave the way for the entirety of robot player character kind! 2. You'll have to make the handler as a character, then the robot would be his follower. However, unlike most followers, he'd be approved automatically, and you would then be able to RP as the robot for the most part by himself, and then after your first RP and us moderators have finished conversing, we'd likely allow the robot to become his own first of his kind character. 3. The armor of your character has to match the tier one armor available for the rest of the PC's. 4. This extra work is scary, but you are paving the way. Do well and you'll be rewarded kindly in turn with the greatest robot character of all time! (PS: You are free to try and get certain traits added in the respective topics, and I'll even allow you to change the traits you have if your character is approved prior to those traits being added) |

Yay pressure. ~chuckle~ I had a bad cough last night and didn't get a lot of sleep so im going to take it slow on finishing my profile to make sure it's not weird due to cold/tiredness since I keep finding myself zoning out. Hopefully I can finish by the end of the day, but I wont have internet this weekend so It'll likely be monday when im finished. |

The handler doesn't even have to be connected to the character, so the ghoul is still extremely viable/possible. He just has to be his owner for a short period of time, you know? |

Ok im definitely making progress now that im home from house sitting and have my computer. Now all that's left are traits... For Abraham im thinking Marksman, Hunter and popular. I think Marksman plays up his fear of close quarters combat and fits in well with hunter which is part of his general background and popular would make sense for his overall goal of wanting to be accepted by a community and a general psychological neediness for acceptance. IS4C's is harder to consider. I wanted to ask if you felt it necessary for me to take traits to gain some of his abilities. ex: Food/drink Processor - This unit was designed with a specific purpose in mind and can clean and purify (reduce radiation/contaminates) and process food and drinks into a more viable form for consumption or break it down into raw components (glucose, proteins, fiber) which can be used as components for other recipes or processed further into soylent paste which can then be baked into ration bricketts or stimulated to assume a new form (ex: Turning x pounds of corn into y lesser pounds of potatoes, or x pounds of mole rat into y pounds of brahmin). Analytic Sensors - This unit has advanced sensors and software allowing it to better monitor minute details from things like surface temperature of a grill to the texture and composition of meat (x% lean to fat and what type of meat), allowing it to analyze and grade whether something is fit for human consumption. These sensors can be useful for other functions as well but their primary usage is fairly obvious. |

Also if someone wanted to play a vault dweller, would that just be like any other organization where it's in the past and now you're a wasteland wanderer and if so are we allowed to just BS it's general location and the specifics of it or should we collaborate with a gm about these details? Im mainly asking because I think it'd be interesting to start a vault in the communities section with it's own mystery etc and progress events as we go based on character decisions and some gm events with no guarantees that they even need to go out into the wasteland but if they do they might just end up inadvertently tipping the scales of power and causing an unintended cluster fudge. |

No Vault Dwellers are playable in the setting, sorry. By the way, we don't really use GM's here. A moderator comes and grades your Roleplay (solo, tag, event, whatever) once you're done and they're in charge of what goodies you get, and that's the closest we have to that UNLESS a moderator or user is in charge of an event and decides to play the role of GM. |

Sounds exquisite, I'd roll with it if I were you.
Such isn't necessary, unless any of that would give him a significant advantage over other role-players. However the stuff you describe would be better suited to the equipment section rather than traits. That's basically a water filter/purifier and a fancy thermostat for the food, so you could just edit those descriptions into his equipment and add it onto what he already has. I'm happy to answer any other questions have as well. |

Hmm, guess i'll go over the equipment section again sine I apparently missed stuff like that. I thought starting characters were just limited to a few weapons and some armor and didn't get anything like general gear. ----- But yeah I figured the above examples for traits that represented advanced hardware/software were abilities that could be considered advantages over other players. |

I would go over this one or two more times, and really be on the lookout for run-on sentances. That is probably the biggest flaw on display, it seems like you do some writing then bunch it up together into one sentence. Just be wary, and try to split it up into multiple or drop some commas in it, you know? Other than that this looks pretty swell! That being said, You Pass! This topic is going to be moved to the database. There you will be expected to keep track of your character as their status changes due to injuries, new equipment, different appearances ect. This is also a great place to keep track of missions he's been on which will help other people find the stories he's been in easily. This topic is also a great to talk about your character and the direction you want to take him with other people. You are encouraged to place your character stats and info in your signature like I have and most of the members here have done as well. Browse through a few users signatures to get the idea of what to do. In other news, in case you are desperate to jump in on roleplaying with other kids in the sandbow, may I suggest the EVENT?!?!?!?!?! about to take place? |
