Character Name: Jasmine "Jay" Foxer

Character Stats:
Strength:6
Perception:5
Endurance:5
Charisma:8
Intelligence:9
Agility:4
Luck:3

Character Race: Human, Caucasian

Sex: Female

Approx. age: 28-30

Character Personality: Jay's personality has a lot to do with her past and her affiliation with the caravans, but I suppose we'll get to that later. For now what we know is that Jay has the common "two sided" persona; not to say she's bipolar, but merely that she treats certain people fairly different from others. For most they will only know the hardy wasteland girl that she was shown to be as a kid, tough, independent, and the slightest bit of dark humor.

She grew up knowing that out there in the wastes, and even in the towns, nobody would take a second look as to kill a child and steal whatever she happened to have on her. She was taught that she had to know everything and yet be humble enough to admit when she know nothing at all. It was these principles that her father taught her, and it was these principles that the shows to every one she meets.

Character Appearance: Jay has huge feet. Like, size 13 in man size big. She thinks that she might have obtained it from her father and his clown feet, but honestly from the stories she heard from her mother it could've gone either way. In any case the option of stilettos and fancy parties is gone. Jay doesn't mind too much though, seeing as that's not really her style anyway. No, this gal is more of the rough and ready farm girl type with her orange plaid shirt and jean overalls. She also has a "Vault-Tec" cap that she wears literally every waking moment, taking it off once or twice a month to shower.

Her build is that of a slightly muscular form, yet keeping enough to still look like a woman. Her shoulders and chest being of the more developed areas, she keeps up her fitness without being a bodybuilder. Along with her build is a decent amount of height as well, standing a decent 5'8-5'9 and weighing in at around 155 lbs. Covering all this woman is the lightly tanned skin from working in the sun and the bright blonde locks that she received from her mother. She wears all of that hair under her cap through in a ponytail pulled out the back; bangs all swept to one side of her face. She's moderately pretty, though mostly it's always covered up by the soot and dirt of caravan travel. Jay's face is heart shaped, getting sharp as it reaches toward her chin. Her eyes a piercing green with light freckles dusted underneath them and all down her cheeks.

Jay's body language almost mirrors her personality: tired yet alert, weary yet capable. All these coming off as a calming and knowledgable aura around her; a sense that her sharp and weary eyes know more than she'll ever tell. Though it's not all dreary and sad for the young woman; she has a bright smile and a firm handshake that could make anybody feel like they've known her all their life. Like it's always been for Jay, it just depends on who you are and what she chooses to show you.

Starting equipment: Normal work clothes of her plaid shirt and jean overalls, fitted with her old improvised shotgun from the caravan. She also tends to carry a small switchblade for skinning and repair work at times.

Character story: Jay was born under the name Jasmine Foxer, but as she soon found out a name like that gets you treated like a sissy. So as soon as she got the smarts she changed it to Jay, and so it was. Her father owned a fairly well known trading caravan by the name of "Foxy's" and every year they'd make the trip from their hometown in Texas up to just south of New Vegas. The buyers were always dark and shady men with obvious bad intentions but she didn't worry; her father was a brave man and she knew he would let nothing happen to her. When the caravan would walk into towns they were usually greeted by the local squatters, begging and pleading for any free surplus they might have. Unlike most of the caravan Jay took a liking to these people. She knew they'd gone through so much in life and did her best to sneak them all some stale bread or a bottle of soda.

Jay was schooled along the way by a woman named Bonnie; she was a kind young woman with a heavy southern accent and it was a deep pain to see her get shot up by a band of junkies like she did. The traders were heading though Fiend territory when the sick bastards jumped out of nowhere and soon overwhelmed them in pure numbers. This was the first time Jay had ever shot another human; sure she'd seen it happen dozens of times but doing it yourself was an experience of a whole 'nother caliber. The hoard of wastelanders was closing in on her and she had nowhere to run, her back pressed hard up against the murdered brahmin beside her. The child picked up one of the caravaneer's shotguns and at ten years old she pulled the trigger into the crowd, sending down two of the tribals to the ground. It went like this for a good ten minutes: shoot, two fall, shoot, two fall, shoot again. Bloodied and burnt out, still carrying the old shotgun she trudged onto the next town where she was able to collapse down in from to a general store.

After the Fiend indecent, Jay brought it upon herself to learn all that there was to know about the terrible place she was in, stealing books from all over, and filling herself up with history. Her and her father's caravan continued their journey every year for twenty years, and on her twenty-first birthday her father gave her the greatest gift of all: his legacy. Yes, little ol' Jay got to own her father's caravan. He told her that when it was her time, that Jay would make sure to visit her parents in a better place.
The week after her father died the now orphaned girl made her way up to New Vegas one last time; there she sold everything but the last few items in the caravan and used the money to start a new life outside the city, taking small jobs from the locals. Many of her first jobs were simply errand runs or "protect me from (enter thug here)" jobs. She didn't mind it though, the Freeside folks were decent enough and so she stood by them when they needed. That and the jobs always kept her little house outside the main city stocked with at least what she needed in provisions. When the young helper had saved up enough for a ticket into Vegas, doing jobs for higher up characters and even one or two for the MPs on the far end of the strip. It was a good enough life, and she only hopes that she made her dad proud.

Recently however Jay had completed a journey back to her hometown of Rhapsody in Eastern Texas, hoping to get a sense of home somewhere away from the dirty streets of New Vegas. Most of all however, she wanted to go back to her father's grave, to give what she has left of her respects. The trek was long and hard, filled with tribals, swindlers, and a brief encounter with the Texas Rangers. Secretly Jay had a strong longing to be one of the Ranger, to wear the proud star of her home state. She knew it was a futile attempt to even try to get in though; they only took the beat of the best and that sure as heck wasn't Jay. As a young girl her father would always tell her about the time the Rangers saved the entire Caravan from a pack of gun-toting weirdos hollering about how "the south [would] rise again." Jay loved the story and always made sure to stick around when he told the tale to the rest of the guards. So at the moment she stays at an impasse; an impossible decision between her dream and reality.

Character strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths: Growing up in the sales business, Jay is quite accustom to talking herself in and out of nasty situations of whatever kind. Sometimes however those encounters don't always end with words and that's where her skill with a shotgun comes in handy. She's a sure shot from a decent range if she has a clear target. Mostly, her intelligence is a big hidden talent. If you can open her up she has a vast knowledge of several subjects across the board, and living most of her lives on the trails has led her to have an extensive knowledge of both survival and first aid.

Weaknesses: Seeing most of her family and close friends killed by Fiends makes her hostile to any sort of tribal, native, or gang member. She hates them with a passion and could take it to severe levels if provoked. Her aim with anything that requires a lot of accuracy is spotty at best; training with shotguns all her life has left her with a bit of a poor shot with anything else. Jay has a big weakness for soda; if it says Nuka or Sunset on it she's downing it in an instant, usually carrying a couple of bottles of the stuff in her pack just in case she gets a sugar-low. Barely being in contact with outside tech, she has no idea how to work a computer; it's one of the few things the genuinely doesn't know.

Hey there, I'm Tyrant or FP. While i'm not a mod, persay, I'd like to help ya with some things first.

You kinda have a lot of equipment, everyone starts at tier one weapons and equipment and all that. Along with other minor items that you might want to add for pure character flavor.

Here are the links to the threads that involve the weapons and equipment. And also if you have time, scroll down and chat in the cbox.

Hey, newcomer. Mod here. FP however was a good soul and pointed you in the right direction, so he gets some brownie points.

Alright here's the basics mi amigo, you're gonna need three paragraphs for that appearance of yours. Easiest way to do this is to break your 1 big one into three, and add some details to make it less sparse if necessary. I'm talking the niche facets of her appearance. Stuff like posture, the sort of vibes she sends, texture of her voice, even the type of scent she carries. Basically anything that can be used to describe her by someone else (or you!) in an RP can be added on, if necessary.

Some typos and grammar issues, but nothing too severe.

You forgot the t in 'the' here, just general small errors like that. Once more, nothing that bad.

Story wise, you can't RP outside of the former confederate states (barring Northeastern Mexico and some of the caribbean). So while in her story she's heading to Rhapsody, she can't really start out half-way there. This isn't a huge problem, just a warning.

Your weakness's and strengths are actually rather balanced and filled out, which is a rare (and pleasant surprise!) to see in a new member here.

Fix a few of those typos and the appearance, and you're good to go!

If I had one last request, it'd be to space out your paragraphs more. The lack of indents (because this is a lame text-based forum) makes it that you need to have some visible spacing between paragraphs. A quick example!

Makes it a tad bit easier on the eyes. That being said...
