Name: Five Two

Level: 5

Stats
S: 7
P: 5
E:7
C: 4
I: 5
A: 7
L: 5

Race: Human (half American Indian)

Killcount: 35+

Approx. Age: 22

Personality:

Aggressive. Determined. Abrasive. Disobedient. Impulsive. Vindictive. All these words and then some could be used to describe Five Two, the former slave. He's been alternating cruel and kind, soft and harsh, good and evil. Not choosing what was necessary at the time, but firing off the edge of whim and passion into each emotion or desire to do right or wrong. He also has a genuinely curious streak, not hungering after knowledge, but seeking out things he is intrigued by, and committing the knowledge to memory as best he can.

When speaking to him, one gets the sense that he'd rather not be talking to them, though he doesn't want to pull away. A deep sadness seems to haunt him, floating just beneath the anger of his temperament. He wishes desperately to be a good person, but seems unable to stop himself from going down a path of hatred and retribution. Violence is intrinsic to his nature, and that seems unavoidable.

Equipment:

Confederate Renegade Jacket (Tier 2) - You were a Confederate and good at your job but you committed the ultimate sin and let Virgil burn your unit alive. Now you prowl the badlands, an outlaw hunting other outlaws, a renegade. Its a good story but anyone that knew anything about what happened died. So technically you're still a paragon of virtue, eh just take the jacket.

Confederate Rough Leather Armor (Tier 2)- This tier two armor set has seen better days, and it's previous owner is missing quite a bit of blood. Make sure to get it back to him if you find him. Thick pieces across the tops of the shoulders and the top of the chest are connected by old belt straps, along with a pad over the left shoulder. Thick pieces of leather also cover the elbows, knees, hands, and shins.

Samurai Armor (Tier 2) - Consisting mostly of the traditional clothes worn by samurai rather than the armor, this stuff is still very heavy duty and more protective than most clothes out there. It includes a leather cord made to tie back a topknot and a headband with a Japanese symbol on it. No one can read Japanese though so no on knows what it says.

Confederate Repeater (Tier 2) - Basic lever action rifle, chambered with 30-30 rounds. Its got CSA engraved on the rifle stock to let everyone know what an outlaw you are.

Sato Tribe Bone Sword (Good Quality T2)
There are not enough words in the thesaurus to describe how sinister this sword looks. While it can more than adequately kill a man, the sword’s design may be compensating for something. Made out of jagged bleached bone, the sword is marked with odd, unsettling runes up and down its flat. The hilt is wrapped in alternating leather strips of brown, black and grey. Its pommel is decorated with a bleached rat skull tassel.

Switchblade (GC) Tier 1- About as average as your average switchblade gets. Shiny black handle, short but sharp blade, gives the appearance of a street punk.

Deuce-Shot Pistol Tier 2- Homemade revolver with two barrels that fire at the same time, although it runs through the 6 round chamber awful quick. The fire power is enough to drop almost anyone in one trigger pull.

Appearance:

Unlike most slaves, Five was not used for manual labor often, and as a result, did not
grow up bent and broken like many others. Five grew tall, just over six feet, and strong, with broad shoulders and thick muscles. His skin is now tan from a long, shirtless trek through the south and the years above ground. His back is a patchwork of lashes and scars from being whipped, in some places whole new patches of skin from where it was peeled in strips from the torture.

His dark black hair has grown long and is tied back with a leather cord. His eyes are dark brown, almost black themselves. A black, bushy beard has taken over his strong jaw and high cheekbones. Most of the right half of his face is scarred, covered in burn tissue and cuts, with long cuts snaking over his eye and done to his mouth.

His base layer is the samurai clothes, worn under the Confederate Renegade jacket, with the rough leather armor strapped over the top. It's a hodgepodge of separate pieces, all of which probably need to be combined into one since they're so disparate, but it's protective and simple, even if it does get hot.

Story:

Five cannot remember his name, or the life he was born into, but he could tell you every detail of his life since he became a slave... if he were willing to discuss it. Around the age of six, he was forced into slavery, the numbers 5-2 branded onto his arm, the fifth of the second group of slaves taken by a large party of raiders and slavers. After a few years of being bartered and sold to multiple masters, he came into the hands of the man who had originally captured him, a particularly cruel slaver by the name of Grayson.

Grayson was followed by his group of three other cohorts, Gnash, Jessie, and Ricky, who all took extreme pleasure in the pain of their slaves. Grayson used Five Two as a gladiator in the subterranean arena at Whose Town, amassing wealth from the growing strength of Five Two’s arm, who took the name of the Unbroken Champion from the other slaves who admired his defiance. Grayson did actually take some amount of effort to educate Five, teaching him to read and write and do simple arithmetic, though would never explain why, only give a sound thrashing if questioned. Five grew bitterly angry, and resentful beyond the bounds of most other slaves, and soon was only driven by the desire to see the slaver dead.

Five was naturally skilled with weapons, able to use all kinds, he was instructed in almost every weapon the slavers had available, which was no small amount, as the slavers had formed the city of Whose Town in the sewers and train tunnels of Lubbock. At the age of fifteen, which had to be guessed at since he had been given a birthday by the other slaves, he was able to field strip, clean, and reassemble most forms of projectile weapons, and take good care of melee weapons.

From the age of nine up until seventeen, Five amassed growing fame from his success in the arena at Whose Town, and subsequently received a greater following of his own in the ranks of the slaves. At eighteen, he headed the uprising which overthrew the slavers in Whose Town, the slave population being four times the amount of slavers. Despite his best efforts, however, Grayson, Gnash, Jessie, and Ricky escaped.

Offered a leadership role in the newly formed town of freed slaves, Five declined, grabbing a pipe rifle and a baseball bat, and arming himself in his gladiatorial gear, personalized rubber armor made from tires, before setting out after Grayson, still driven only by his desire to see him dead. The memories of the years of torture and brutality still haunt him, and every step closer to his goal is another step he is willing to take to end it.

Strength/Weaknesses:

Five Two is strong, hardy, and agile due to his time as a gladiator, and intense physical training he was forced to perform by Grayson. He is not overly smart, being of average intelligence, and due to scarring over much of his body, including most of the right side of his face, he is not very charismatic. Five is driven, and unwilling to give up in the face of anything, slavery left its mark and freedom is too sweet to release. However, he does not truly “enjoy” the freedom, still forcibly driven to pursue Grayson without time for much else.

Five only truly fears cages, being locked up, although he has a certain problem with heights as well. Living in a subterranean city for much of his life, he has an unerring sense of direction whenever underground, and can tell how deep he is, which direction he is traveling, and sense subtle changes in the ambient area, such as light and temperature changes. Five will at most times let a single thought or goal encompass his mind, and put everything at his disposal towards achieving it. He is, however, then vulnerable to other problems arising.

Mild dyslexia plagues his every attempt to read and write, though he views these as challenges he can overcome, and fights against the urge to abandon such things. Five will, at times, be forced to deal with bouts of schizophrenia. The delusions are often benevolent, even helpful, but can be distracting, or when least expected, terrifying. While he has become better at telling reality from delusion, he will sometimes give in and be lost to the delusion for hours at a time. Due to his years of slavery, Five also experiences Nightmare Disorder, a sleep disorder characterized by frequent nightmares. Also, spiders, not his thing. It's the eyes.

If you could add some spacing, or some indents to seperate paragraphs, it'd look nicer to read.

Did you draw that picture? It's actually pretty good, we have a bit of an artist community here (TyrantofTyrus, Zilabus, some old members), you might be interested in chatting some of them up about post-apocalyptic art mi amigo.

Do me a favor though, and try to put a few more weaknesses down. A pet peeve of mine really, but it gives other writers some strings to pull if you collaborate, plus it'll help you down the line as well.

Copy and paste doesn't work well for spacing, and yes I did draw that. Let me see what I can do weakness-wise...

FIVE TWO'S INVENTORY

Armor and Clothing
Confederate Renegade Jacket (Tier 2) - You were a Confederate and good at your job but you committed the ultimate sin and let Virgil burn your unit alive. Now you prowl the badlands, an outlaw hunting other outlaws, a renegade.

Its a good story but anyone that knew anything about what happened died. So technically you're still a paragon of virtue, eh just take the jacket.

Inquisition Robes (Tier 2) - Nobody expects Five Two to look this stylish in these bright red robes. Prepare the chair and the comfy pillows, you'll be able to twist the rack for hours in comfort in these new robes.

Reinforced Leather Jacket (Tier 2) - An old black leather bomber jacket that's been reinforced with strips of Brahmin hide and old belts. It's comfortable and pretty protective, and there's definitely some gangster out in the wasteland that is desperately envious of this jacket.

Utility Belt- He may not be a Batman, but this utility took belt has plenty of pouches to carry stuff. Alas, no magical button with baterangs.

XL Rucksack- A rather large backpack type object which he purchased from Trapper's Trek in exchange for a lantern, an axe head, and a baseball bat. It has the main pouch of course, along a pair of smaller pockets. A bit of needlework from Phil attached Five's old holsters, allowing him to carry his pipe rifle with ease.

Weaponry

Ammunition

(65x) .32 rounds- Ammunition

(13x) 30-30 rounds - Ammo

Other Stuff

"Raspy" - Confederate Eyebot - Look who has a new companion, Remnant Spybot 3-14, RS-Pi or "Raspy". The weapons system was removed to make way for more memory storage. So while it cannot shoot anything it does have a personality and can examine things for you. The most important part is still intact, the radio, making this the best boombox ever.

Rat Friend - Its a new recruit in Brady's army and now its your pet. Send it to retrieve small things, check around corners for you, or trade this trained rodent for cigarettes. The possibilities are endless.

Wire-Frame Glasses - Come back, please god, come back.

Constellations for Kids! - This picture book will help 5-2 identify such staples of the night sky like the big dipper, Delphinus, and Triangulum Australe!

Constellations for Older Kids! - This picture book will help 5-2 identify such staples of the night sky like the little dipper, Other Delphinus, and the Squaringulum Australe! You liked it so much the first time, why not get the sequel.

Poo Log - Finally, what every bathroom has been waiting for- the Poo Log, a journal for recording and studying the wondrous uniqueness of each bowel movement. With an extensive glossary, handy reference checklists, interesting nuggets throughout, this journal makes every trip to the can an e-loo-cidating experience. Who knew one could learn so much from poo?
*Note half of this was already filled out by some Ohioan drifter with a Kurt Russel tattoo.

Solar Cell - A bit of tech ripped off the Rat King's one true enemy Dickbot, an Asian terminator android on an eternal quest to rid the world of the rat king. This is part of the solar array the android used to power himself, ripped apart during battle.

Old Lighter- An old flip top lighter, tarnished gunmetal casing. One side is worn smooth, the other carries a worn engraving of a cross

Neopat medal- A sentimental badge of courage and memento you snagged from the people who fought beside. Heavy enough to feel real, these are likely found medals from great war era soldiers. He wears it on his belt.

Brothel Inspector Badge- Five and Phil both received these after assisting the Madame of La Ranchero. Shiny metal shields with an outline of a working girl and the letters BI inside of handmade leather wallets. Five swears his on his belt.

Water Canteen- 1.5 Liter capacity in a metal container. Genius idea in the desert.

(1x) Normal Hides- 1 normal sized hide.

Low Quality Cabin Tent - The absolute pinnacle of mobile accommodations. Absolute. Pinnacle. Five may have overpaid a bit, but hey, now it's just a few poles and stakes away from being a relatively safe home inside the relative safety of Bucket Town. It's as big as a typical living room inside, and a mottled greenish-gray-brown. The absolute pinnacle of living situations.
+Dibshire - First came and first served, you just aquired a parcel of land big enough to sleep on. You've got the comforts of home. Since you have the tent you don't have to worry about the outside elements but even a thick hide tent can't help you from the cold. Maybe you could expand and get some breathing space and a place for a fire
+Basic Workbench - A very simple 5ftx2ft workbench, with a heavy duty vice grip on either side, a basic set of tools, and a fair amount of questionable scratches and dark stains. Perfect for simple tinkering projects, like fixing and maintaining gear, or making something new.

Mystery McGuffin - This is a mystery box of mystery trusted to Five Two. Its about the size of a shoebox and contains an important item Five Two will need in the future. What's in it? Who knows until the time is right. No Peeking!

RARITY Rolled up painting - This carefully preserved watercolor was found on one of the swampers that attacked the fort. Its carefully preserved in a protective sleeve to keep the weather out. You're not sure how this ended up in a swamper warrior's possession but the painting itself is in very good condition given its age. The work is post-war, it depicts an air battle in which one brave pilot is hanging out of his plane door dropping grenades on infantrymen, something about it seems familiar to you. The only real damage to the work are the slightly charred edges from an apparent fire. On the back however there appear to be a series of glyphs and runes you do not understand that appear in ink that disappears and reappears at random. You're not sure what to make of that, but you probably should keep it close.
