I have no idea if people are still up for this, but I'll try to get a reply ready during the week in case y'all are still interested.

EDIT: Yes, I okayed Amos Hennigan's participation in this Showdown, even though he's in the dance-off.

Suvarna was browsing in the market place when the call went out. She wrinkled her nose in disgust and fumed inwardly A thief, in town? You took your chances as a merchant out on the road, but Suvarna had always considered the truce of a town sacred. She found herself running after the thief, despite herself, so true was her anger. She quickly found herself lapped by another man, and then a few others chasing the crook. She was about to stop running on the spot, content that the thief would be caught, but then he booked it into the unoccupied ruins. "Damn it all," she whined. She saw the thief make a sharp turn and the others follow.

Unless he fancies himself a great climber, he's eventually going to hit one of the switchbacks in the ruins and emerge close to the main drag out. Maybe I can "cut him off at the pass."

Su jogged down the main strip, into the ruins until she reached the far end. She cupped her hand over her ear and listened out for the sounds of panting and boots on pavement. Confident she had chosen her spot well, she put her back against a wall and when it sounded as if the thief was about to pass, she stuck her foot out, sending him tumbling into the ground, chin first.

Suvarna had no follow-through though, as she dropped to one knee and nursed her bruised shin, massaging it through her pant-leg and making quiet "ow," sounds.

(Joined with permission from Run)

Amos was heading back from Bobo’s when he heard the commotion in the center of town. He looked in time to see a man bolt from a crowd of people clutching a small satchel. Well it didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that this man was a criminal given his response to police attention and he was getting away fast. Amos sprinted after the fleeing criminal in hopes of catching him before he entered the ruins. There were a million hiding places in those torn down buildings if the man could reach them. Amos pumped his arms and moved his legs as fast he could moving slightly to the north in case the man wanted to flee on the old prewar roads. He wouldn’t head to Big Brown without Amos seeing him.

With Amos’s speed he was able to outdistance himself from the rest of the pursuit but the criminal had too much of a head start. By the time Amos reached the ruins the target had already made it inside. Catching a glimpse of the man Amos raced off down the crumbling street and began a game of cat and mouse in the old alleyways. Time was running out, the man had to hide or flee soon with the rest of the townspeople in the ruins or about to enter. The man knew it too and he put an extra effort into his fleeing making erratic turns and busting through old buildings. Amos kept on top of him but the man knew these ruins better than Amos did. The man had a way of just being out of reach but Amos had a plan too. Amos was slowly herding the man around South away from the prewar road. Soon the criminal would be caught between the men chasing him and Amos.

Amos and the man paused and stared at one another in mutual recognition of the situation. Amos gestured a silent “come on” at the sight of the crowd closing in. The criminal just didn’t know when to quit though and started running hard due southwest to try and break free of being surrounded. At this time others were closing in as well and Amos hated having things cut so close. He wanted to be the first one to get this guy and now that might not happen. The one thing he had though was ridiculous speed and almost equally good stamina. He wasn’t done yet by a long shot and redoubled his efforts after the guy. The criminal was going have to give out soon or run out of tricks, Amos never met a man alive that could outrun him and today was no different. His target was slowing down and running out of steam. The distance between the two men was closing and Amos took a chance before the others closed the distance as well. It was a gamble but not terribly risky at this range, Amos jumped up and tackled the guy into the cracked pavement. The man never stood a chance after he was tripped up by a leg. The thief stumbled and Amos hit him right afterwards, preventing any chance he had of getting up.

With a soft “Oof” the air left the man’s lungs and the fight was taken out of him. Amos looked over at the woman that had helped him out and she was nursing a slight wound on her leg. The man hit her hard enough to possibly bruise but she should be fine otherwise.

“Get in my way and I'll split your skull open," Amos warned the woman nursing her knee on the ground. "Stay on the ground and nothing bad will happen to you. You wouldn't be the first woman I've killed so consider that before you get any ideas.”

Amos pulled out his revolver loaded with the scattershot and grabbed his prize around the shoulder.

Amos walked the man out of the ruins quickly and methodically, checking his flanks and rear when possible. The crowd was relived to see the man caught but disappointed that someone else had won. The revolver was there to discourage anyone from taking advantage of him as Amos pulled his hostage back to town. The thief kicked and screamed as Amos went promising anything if he would just let him go. That wasn’t going to happen though and the criminal went sprawling into the hands of Copperton’s finest that thanked them for apprehending the pest.

THE CURSE OF THE MUMMY

The spirits have taken an interest in you for all the wrong reasons! Unexpected challenges will come to you during your RPs but the rewards doled out will be much juicier. It is possible to live with such a curse, but if you would rather live curse free, you could simply sell the corpse and wash your hands of the whole situation.

Lmgthev: MBP is handsome
LonesomeDrifter23: Sometimes I think MBP is a being made entirely of satire.

(I think nearly four months is a reasonable amount of time to have given other people a chance to interject. Run, would you like to call this?)
