Unity Bridge –Unity Bridge, Pre War.Location: East of off Buckettown for several miles, just outside of visual range. Population: 19. Current Leader: Jason Unity Bridge is a covered bridge, spanning over a wide but not deep, river. Before the war, Unity Bridge was one of the few bridges within the area that actually wasn’t falling apart; thus, a popular choice for travel. Used by many local farmers as the focal point to get into Copperton, it quickly became a local landmark for travel. After the war, things changed. Most people complety ignored Unity Bridge as a resource to us, and as such some local Farmers used to exact a toll on traders passing through the area. Over time, the farmers turned into Ghouls from drinking the radiated water that flowed underneath the bridge. Feeling shunned by the remnants of Copperton, or what is now known as Bucket town, they built there own little hamlet on the east side of the bridge. They still collected tolls from traders passing through the bridge, and remained in good contact with Copperton throughout the years. As the second generation of Copperton came around, communication between the two towns began to wane. By the current generation of Bucket town inhabits, they hardly talk to each other. It was around this time the other side of Unity Bridge came around. A group of human refugees attempted to cross the bridge, but, was turned back by the ghoul settlement on the other side; who had grown over the years by ghouls looking for a place to live. Unwilling to cross the radioactive river, the refugees simply accepted there fate and settled on the other side of the bridge. Still, that wasn’t the only incident the two camps had. From time to time, refugees on the human side would attempt to break through but were pushed back by rifle and pistol fire from the Ghouls; thinking that these humans were trying to take over there own little settlement they had made and perfected over the many long years. In relation for the attacks on there own, the refugees shot at the ghoul camp from the other side of the river from time to time. Slowly, the two camps began to arm themselves for conflict. So far, nothing has happened yet. But, the covered bridge is now covered in barricades, with a vast space of no-mans land in the middle. Sometimes, in the middle of the night in Bucket town, you can hear the distant cracks of rifle and pistol fire. A relativity unknown fact about Unity Bridge is that each camp is being backed by a different side from the lost Bucket town election. One the ghoul side, it’s being supported by old supporters of Benny O’Boyle. Supplying the ghouls with hides, clothes and some weapons, Benny O’Boyle’s die-hard supporters hope that they can make enough leverage to put Benny in power there. On the other side, the refugees are being packed by a group of Neo-Feudalists led by a man named “Lucky Tim”. Lucky Tim’s involvement in the whole Unity Bridge affair is largely unknown, but, most people speculate that Lucky Tim wants to move in closer to Bucket Town. Recent History: After several of the town guards were pulled away to help there allies in Buckettown, the humans stormed the bridge and finally managed to break past the final barricade. What was once the ghoul side has been taken over, and the remaining humans has settled down there for the time being. ((For help, the East side is closer to Bucket town, while the West side is farther. Travelers are allowed to cross the bridge, as long as they wear a special patch and don’t use there weapons.)) NPCs East Unity Bridge (Former Ghoul, Now Human Side) • Jason: Leader of the humans, Jason is a former Confederate soldier that left after he turned forty. Finding a group of Refugee’s traveling trough the southern wastes, Jason offered to take them to Bucket town. After his encounter with ghouls, he was slowly placed in command of leading the Humans. Gruff, Rude and uneducated, he is still willing to lead by example and has no problem is rushing to the front line himself. • Williams: The only contact to Lucky Tim for West Unity Bridge, Williams is a massive man. Standing at six-foot three and weighing in at over two-hundred pounds; it’s little wonder why Lucky Tim made Williams his enforcer. Like Joe-boy, Williams is able to sell weapons to an adventurer that throws there lot in for the human side.

Question. How would you feel about this topics main point eventually being merged with the Bucket Town topic (Which is to undergo revisions soon, many of which are based on the election and work done for the town.) and the eventual possibility for a small event being set in this situation? If you're okay with this, then that would be great, although their is a possibility changes will be made in the merger (Although with your help) |

oh i figured it was some major river... i was just trying to get an idea of the size is all.. and for the record all rivers would need a bridge to cross... at some point of if the body of water is significantly smaller, it is ususally classified as a streem... which dont really need bridges.. and rapids.. need bridges but arent larg at all... however this is irrelevant... Good piece of work.. |

Jason racked the slide of his shotgun. Scouts had told him that something was going on in Buckettown. Something rather big and violent, according the sharp reports of gun fire coming near by. Leaning on the barricade, Jason looked and noticed that somebody ran up to a ghoul and started talking to him. A human. Grabbing a dirty telescope from his Confederate army days, Jason looked down it. Soon enough, four ghouls left the barricades and started jogging towards Buckettown. Jason looked at the remaining ghouls manning the barricade, and then at his own men. The ghouls were out numbered. "Hey, Charlie. Go get Williams." Jason said to the young soldier near him. Charlie nodded, sprinting off to get Williams. A few moments later, Williams showed up at the barricades. "What?" Williams asked, gruff as ever. "A bunch of ghouls on that barricade just left to Bucket-town. Do you know what that means?" Jason asked, leaning up against the barricade. "No. I don't." Williams replied. "We have a chance here if we take it. To cross this bridge. Hand out what weapons you got to anybody. We are crossing this bridge right now." Jason said. A few of the guards nearby whispered among themselves. Williams nodded. Jason turned back around to face the ghouls on the other side. This was it. The day they waited for. Years of waiting for this moment, and now it's here. Little did Jason know that with his actions, yet another government would fall. ====================================================== "NOW!" Jason shouted. With a massive cry, filled with hate and anger, the various armed townspeople and guards swarmed across the bridge. Bullets soon filled the air, from both sides. Running through the barricades set up long ago by both sides, Jason continued to fire his pump-action shotgun at the opposing forces. Dropping into cover to reload, Jason was nearly trampled from the mob rushing towards the ghoul barricades. With bated breath, Jason watched as several of the people he had sworn to protect were gunned down moments before reaching the barricades. Then they broke through. The ghoul guards fell back as they leapt over the final barricade, firing into the mob. Jason, standing up after reloading, followed them. Various ghouls exited the buildings they were in to put up a Resistance. They were quickly gunned down as the humans entered the various buildings they had watched for years. Waiting to enter them. Waiting to live in them. Just....waiting to cross that goddamned bridge. Firing his shotgun into a ghoul shouting for those zombies to stand and fight, Jason watched as it caught him in the chest. Years of watching people suffer because of lack of housing, food, and water as over. They had won. They were the victors. Soon enough, the remaining ghouls that were left were fleeing for the hills. Jason at this point didn't care about them. He was glad that they had won. It was over. Helping a mother across the bridge, a few of the guards let out shouts of joy as they entered there new homes. Work needed to be done, sure. But, with a bit of work, they would be able to turn this into there own little haven. A place for them. ======================================================
