Is it a good idea? I've decided it would be better to change the perk system, which would include adding a quite a few new perks and traits, and changing the perks system to having one perk awarded every five levels, the perk depending on the character's actions and skills. This will make the perk system actually mean something, and it will be an added incetive for leveling up, along with an added piece for making a unique character.

Suggestions or comments?

Oh, by the way. This is also a contest! We are in need of new perks, so any interested user canmake their own custom trait or perk, and if their lucky, have it added to the official list! Hurray!

Just post your perks in here when your ready. Because the system is being changed, your perk will probably be in a format like:

Quote:

(Name) Ambusher
(Humourous or informative caption)Suckerpunched the shit out of me!
(Level when possible to award) Lvl 10
(Perks required, if any) Backstabber
(Explination)For whatever reason, you always seem to work best when your bursting out of your hiding place and charging into the thick of it. Because of this, you are a far more crippling attacker, from behind.
(Suggested use) When attacking from behind, add +3 to whatever your character's main offensive SPECIAL is. From the side, add +1.

I'm not sure if I'll make perks require other perks, yet, but if you want, you can put th at in there.

Name- Psyker (Telekinetic; Tier 1)

Description- “I said. Move.”

Prerequisites- Int 6, Lvl 5

Explanation- The first tier of the Psyker ability Telekinesis, or Psychokinesis if you prefer. This (for the less informed), is the ability to move things with your mind, simply by thinking or ‘willing’ it to move. This is only the first level of this ability which only allows you to move small to medium sized objects (Small: Everyday items such as cup glasses, even small rocks. Medium: Up to the size of general furniture.)

Suggested use
- Can be used for offense or defense. As this is the first tier, it will take a great deal of concentration to use this ability. Any generally loud noise such as repetitive gunfire or explosions can effectively negate your ability to use TK (or PK). At this level its better for parlor tricks and at the start of fights. Also, sickness or injury will negate you ability to use this power; for instance if you get shot. Unless you have some painkillers or until it heals your ability will be lessened.

*Addition Notes: You must continue in this Tier set one you have chosen it. One additional Tier 1 power shall be granted at Level 30 as a perk selection.

First Tier of the first ability. Comments or questions?

EDITED
: Ok people, here is a little disclaimer. This is simply the first draft, it is not perfect, it is not even really done. I have to talk to Zil about restirctions and such, you just let me worry about that, alright?

Guerilla
VIVA LA REVOLUCION!
Required Level: 10
Required Perks: AGL 7, STR 7, Small Guns 40
Explanation: Skulking through the bushes and hitting your enemies at their weakest point has always been your strongest skill. Through careful practice, you are able to run full speed and still fire well-aimed shots from the hip.
Suggested Use: With this perk, character motion does not affect the accuracy of un-aimed shots.

Sweet, simple, to the point. Not many frills about it.

I was thinking... maybe we could have like a perk that you could get, that changed depending on your alignment. Like it does such and such in a certain range of karma and there would be dead-zone ranges where the perk did nothing until you got your alignment back in order. Just a thought.

Extreme personality
All or nothing!
Requirments: Positive or negative Karma
Explination: Depending on the persepctive of the person, you've been called a fanatic and a idealist. Your all or nothing personality makes you convincing and persuasive, but only if your fighting for the side you believe in.
Suggested use: This perk only works when your Karma is on one end of the spectrum or the other, so take advantage of it when you can. If your argument matches your Karma, add +2 to your charisma. If the situation is reversed, subtract two from your charisma.

I took Orions suggestionto come up with this one. Couldn't really think of a way to implement that in combat, but I'm sure one of you will figure it out.

What about people who have dead Neutral? There isn't really just one opposite for that.

In Demand

"I have heard of you. Your work will be richly rewarded . . ."

Explanation:
Either by fluke or by skill, you have become a valued commodity in the Wasteland. This can be good or bad, because people will be impressed or disappointed with your progress.

Effects:
Rewards for a high-class mission will be better, rewards for a poor mission will be worse.

Requirements: Level 10

It looks like a trait, but being a reputation-style Perk, it really doesn't fit with a beginning character.

By high and low class are you refereing to the quality of the mission or the mission giver like for events?

The mission itself, and how well it's written. It's a reward booster for good writers, and if you go slack, it'll have an effect.

It'd definitely open other options for events too, though.
