It was a quiet night by the river. The clouds in the sky covered all light that tried to come through from the moon and the stars. An excellent night to meet with his dark lady, as cold and black as his heart and as beautiful as the Dark Lady herself. Suddenly he felt the breeze pick up from the night, that in itself wasn't odd but he felt a presence begin to form near him. My lady approaches, at last Khorne couldn't say for certain why his master had called him back from the intrigue in Karash, but it was not his place to question her will. If she felt like it she would tell him why, and if not then there was nothing he could do about it. "Greetings dark lady, what can I do for you" |

Darkling appeared out of the shadows and walked up close to Khorne. She had not boundaries, no care for personal space. She nestled up against him and smiled. "Plans have changed. It seems that Vlad's child was thinking of revolt much earlier than I had expected. We won't need to push him, the woman he wants will lead him to fight against his father." She smiled to herself, "How perfect." She looked up at her minion. He was strong, able, quiet, evil. "Do you want to play, Khorne?" As she spoke she pointed just a little bit off from where they were standing. There was a man, lying face down a sword not far from his hand. He looked dead, but he wasn't. Darkling never liked to play with the dead, they had nothing to lose. She turned her black eyes to Khorne. "The fallen King of Terra." Moonlight danced through the depths of her eyes and she smiled at him again. "I think he needs to be tortured, but not the traditional, physical torture. I think he is to strong for that." There was a not in the dark lady's voice that bordered on lust. "But his mind, perhaps, could be tempted to insanity. I want to break him. He's so powerful in the world of man, he flaunts his victories like nothing could bring him down. He fell in the battle when Vlad took his cities. Well," she laughed, "I took him from the fight, to torture the So'jihn of the council, who carries his child." She leaned agianst Khorne and sighed. "He does not know what has befallen his cities, nor does he know what has happened to his wife, his children and his mistress. I think we should play with this...yes? If he proves himself to me, perhaps I will let him reign over the north for a bit longer. If he fails, I will let the shadow take him into its embrace. Although, I don't believe that death suits him." She turned and looked at Khorne. "Will you help me test the Terran?" |

Out of the shadows he saw the Dark Lady appear and walk close to him, she had a sly grin on her face that most women got when they had a secret to share with someone, and sure enough she did. With Vlad's son plotting a rebellion anyway there would be no need for Khorne to step in and plant the seeds of doubt that would sow rebellion. When his mistress mentioned a little sport he broke into a smile, though it faded a little when she mentioned it would be mind games that they played. Khorne much rather preferred a hunt or a good bloodsport, but if his mistress asked him to aid then who was he to argue. The note in her voice spoke of her own excitement, torturing the king of Terra would be a challenge, and Khorne never turned a challenge away. "It seems things go well for your plans Dark Lady. It would be an honor to help you to test the Terran King" Khrone walked over to where the man was and hauled him to his knees, so that he could get a clear look at him. The king was indeed a strong man, despite the fact that his body was nearly broken his eyes still held a spirit that would take a great deal to break, this would indeed be fun. |

King of Terra

He could hear voices, they seemed far off, hazy, but he could hear them. He looked around him and saw nothing. "You are there, spirit, I can hear you." He said out loud, daring the voices to make themselves known. But nothing happened and he rolled over onto his side with a grunt. "Where am I?" It was a question for himself as much as it was for the voices he could hear. His whole body hurt, he was tired, one moment he'd been fighting vampires, the next, he was on some cold ground. There was the briefest of moments where he let himself believe that he was in the afterlife, but, being Terran, he knew that death was not this cold, or this peaceful. He tried to lift himself up but lost his strength and let himself fall face down against the muddy grass. There was an echo in his ears, in his mind, of a woman's voice, a plea, a screaming demand. He pinched his eyes shut against the ground and slammed his fist into the muck. "I'm so sorry Shyla, Phaedra. I don't know where I am or what devils keep me." He could see her face, he could almost smell her hair. Shyla He was pulled up onto his knees by strong, mean hands. The Terran King grunted in pain and looked into evil eyes. There was patience in Vance's face. He looked up at the young man with orange eyes then sighed and pushed himself up to his feet. His hand drew his sword up with him and he planted it in the mud to lean on it. "A Vampire? I am ashamed to call myself Terran if it was you who took me from battle." He rubbed his face and looked at Khorne. "But i seem to remember the most beautiful dark woman. Unless you shape shift or i'm suffering from a concussion." He allowed himself a light laugh, just to ease his body pain and his mind's worry. "Or you are a woman and I can't tell because, who knows with your kind." Another light laugh escaped his lips. He was silent for some time. He looked off across the Karashi plains. He knew exactly where he was. Only one country was this bleak, this dark. "So am I dead or what?" He said finally, lifting his sword and sheathing it back at his left hip. He was tired, he was sore, but there was something keeping him going. Shyla Tadros, and their unborn child. He was Terran after all, and looking into the face of Grandfather Dark himself wouldn't stop him from returning to his people, his wife or his mistress. He gave the young man a glance out of the corner of his eye and frowned. "Mute, are you?" He jumped a little when he felt a cool hand run up his back and toy with the hair at the back of his neck. He looked at Khorne, standing very still. Then quickly turned around. No one was there. He looked at Khorne again. "Ghosts?" There came a soft, tinkling, evil laugh of a woman. "Khorne, torment him as you see fit. With words or sword. Perhaps the Terran can take it." Vance stared hard at Khorne. "You work for Death, herself, Khorne?" he clicked his tongue. "That'll not end well for you. But I suppose you can't know, or won't let yourself realize that she will betray you. Even you, a vampire." The Terran King shook his head and looked around him, weary of the voice. "No matter where you go or how long you live, stupidity will always make itself visible in young men. 'Spose she promised to fuck you if you "tormented" me, hm? Kiddo, let me tell you something, women who promise to fuck aren't ever going to give it. Promises are meant to be broken." There was another laugh that echoed off the air around him. "See," Vance said pointing behind his shoulder, with his eyebrows raised, "She agrees with me." |

Khorne was surprised by how easily the man seemed to gain his own strength back. The Terran king stood on his own strength, no small feat for the state he was in. Khorne wasn't really paying much attention to his babbling and was surprised to find it directed at him. When the king looked over him and questioned who he worked for Khorne couldn't help but smile, the man spoke of betrayal and how she would kill him if given the chance. Only a fool would think themselves safe in a bargain with the Dark Lady, of course that was not his concern. Strange that he thought Khorne a vampire, true he had been one long ago but with his wings most thought him a monster but not a vampire. He stretched them to make himself appear slightly bigger, a tactic that would at least put the Terran king off guard. He would not frighten so easily but Khorne had some tricks up his sleeve. "I serve the dark lady out of loyalty, nothing more. If she wishes for my death than I will gladly slit my own throat Knave! Now, you are not dead yet, and Dark lady willing you may yet live a little longer. If you prove your worth that is." Khorne drew out one of his knives and started cleaning his nails. "Now, don't you want to get caught up on what's happened while you were in my Lady's possession?" Edited by Khorne Bloodfang, Nov 10 2009, 07:28 PM.
