Name: Salima Tyhar Age: 238 Gender: Female Race: Half-Elf Nationality: Carthan Occupation: Council Memeber Allegiance: The Light Appearance Salima Tyhar is about the same height as everybody else, and shorter than a good few people in the world. This means that she has developed the innated ability to look larger than she really is by sheer force of her presence, if she has to. With her height however, she can also vanish subtlely into the background, hiding amongst the people there and camoflauged by her surroundings. She is a master at announcing herself with her presence and disappearing when they least expect it. This gives her the advantage of being able to pry into conversations and become privvy to secrets that are floating around in the Mage Council. With hair golden as the sun, Salima is stunningly beautiful noticeable in the crowd. It falls to her waist, and is light and floaty in the winds that stir the atmosphere and toss her hair around as though it weighs nothing. There are streaks of white at her temples that make it even more striking in the light of the sun. Salima usually lets it loose, loathing to tie it into a bndle or a ponytail. Her eyes, so strikingly blue change colours like the sea. When the sea is excited, it is green. When it is tranquil and calm, it is blue, and when it is tossing in fury it is grey, and when it is coldly disapproving it is ice. These variations in colour give away her emotions to those who know her for long. The winds of time wrinkles the skin like parchment. However, Salima, gifted with the ability to touch it, has the grace of magic to slow down this deformity of the skin. Her flesh is smooth and unwrinkled despite her long years and the hardships she has suffered. Salima, in typical Mage fashion, does not use weapons except for the her Magic, and thus her skin does not suffer scars in weapons training or in fighting, because Magic can also be used as a long range weapon, and anyway, any scratch or cut can be healed without a scar if treated immediately. Personality Salima Tyhar is motherly and kind, a replacement mother for those novices that are orphaned or who miss their parents. She loves them like a mother and would protect them with her last breath. She comforts them and she treats them well. She can analyze personality on the spot, and will know how best to cajoule them to doing as she says, and to follow her instructions and the rules of being a mage novice. She sighs at the pranks that Novices play on each other with something akin to exasperated amusement, knowing that they only do this for fun. However, when the pranks turn into something of a malicious nature, Salima is unrecognizable. She becomes stern and hard, without a trace of mercy in her. But Salima also has a strict side to her, though it is usually hidden by her exterior motherly nature. She tolerates pranks of the harmless nature, other than a stern lecture, and maybe a soft paddling, that is it. However, for those people who play malicious tricks on others, she shows no pity, nor any sympathy regardless of how hard she disciplines and how hard they bawl or cry or plead. Salima has a distaste for people with malicious and harmful intent on others, and if she finds a Novice who refuses to turn from these ways, she does her best to prevent them from becoming mages, ever. Salima withdraws into the shadows to observe the scene and make her decisions. Working from the Shadows, her plots and schemes are difficult to make out. Salima knows that she does not know anything, and readily admits it, for she believes not in deceiving the world and her companions about what she knows and what she does not know. Thus, she has gained the trust of many people, who listen to what she says and takes it into her council without looking for any barbs or stings hidden in them that would tie them irrevocably to her. Magical Abilities Salima is gifted with strong elemental magic, in the areas of Wind and Weather, and knows how to use it effectively, both offensively and defensively. Air - Able to psionically control the Air, she is able to create items made out of pure hard air that it stronger than the strongest blade on earth. She can summon up powerful winds if need be, ranging up to and including gale force winds, if for a brief period of time. A storm of tornados is not impossible for her, if the cause makes her willing enough to become catonic for a period of time. With pure thought, she can create barriers of air where nothing except air and heat can pass through, but it does leave her vunerable to fire and burns. Weather - With a psionic bond with the elements, especially with the Weather systems in the world, Salima is able to summon lightning from a benign sky, create storms on a small scale, as well as disperse them. After centuries of learning, she is able to do it with ease, but must also be careful, for if she is reckless, she may end up causing snow to fall in Gnard, or storms and hurricanes to form in the Mungan Middle sea, which is not a good thing. With just one little storm, it is possible for that to happen. Sometime however, when her emotions began to get the better of her, she may just find that there would be sudden storms and weather patterns in the immediate vicinity. Water - Gifted with the ability to control weather, Salima can control the water to some small extent, but only if it is in the form of water vapour or moisture in the air, to help enhance her breezes or something or the other. Otherwise, it is not very useful. I approve as well though I did notice just a few typos in there, be careful of that! We demand a really high standard here, not to scare people off, just to push everyone to the absolute best they can be!! You are free to spread your stats out as you wish so long as you do keep it at the 60 level but I would suggest taking a few points from Magic and allocating them in Strength (its quite low, even for a mage) and Charisma (since she is supposed to be quite matronly to the younger novices.) Also, what nationality is she supposed to be? There is no history up for her yet and I would like to see that, thanks!
