 Cellar Door has a sound is intrinsically beautiful. JRR Tolkien wrote: “…for me cellar doors are extraordinarily frequent, and moving to the higher dimension, the words in which there is pleasure in the contemplation of the association of form and sense are abundant." It was he; Karen Pommeroy was referring to in the movie Donnie Darko when she said, “This famous linguist once said that of all the phrases in the English language, of all the endless combinations of words in all of history, that Cellar Door is the most beautiful.” Cellar door does evoke something inside us all; the phrase has so many possibilities beyond the fact that it is undeniably lovely. Where does the door lead? What does it mean? Is there wine on the other side? This is a RP site for literary enthusiasts to come together and make something more than they could on their own; a world of imagination created by those who wish to dwell there. It is a place for you to commune with your fellow writers and grow in your own skills with the pen. The world you will find once you open the Cellar Door is a world of conflict. The ruling government, The Coalition, has sanctioned magic until it is almost unusable. They fear for the people’s safety and state that they are making the world a better place for all who live in it, but there are some who disagree. The Resistance, led by their commander, Kormak Westley, is fighting for the free use of magic by all. And the witches, once set only to distance themselves from the petty quarrels of humans, are now considering taking sides. There are also the teenagers, students at the magical school Sator, caught in the middle of it all and ignorant of the surrounding turmoil. I hope that you visit our site and join our community, something this good needs to be shared. If anyone's lost, they can ask a question -- if they have something to say, they can leave a comment -- if they have a suggestion for the site, they can tell us on the board. + The site is active, but not too crowded. + Many character choices, and a good setting for either an adult, or adolescent character. + Well detailed, organized site. |
