| Appearance | In a land known for light hair, Raven Drekston is an exception. He has long hair that is a distinct bluish-black in color, earning him his name. His eyes are an icy-blue in color and have a startling intensity. He is tall and well-built, like most Terrans. He is rarely seen without a shirt of chain mail, his two-handed sword on his back, a shortsword to one side, and a handaxe on the other. |
| Personality | Though he can be serious when required, Raven generally likes to have a good time. He can drink with the best and take the field the next morning bright-eyed and alert. Knowing that any day can be his last, he tries to live so that he has no regrets. He has killed men when necassary, but he takes no pleasure in it. When fighting vampires or other such creatures, he allows himself to enjoy the battle with, sometimes, reckless abandonment. |
| History | Born on a small farm in southern Terra, Raven knew a simple childhood. He spent his years in working with his father, but when he came of age, he decided to enlist in the army. His family was displeased with his decision, but they allowed him to carry it out. Only a year after he left home, his mother died of sudden illness. His father sunk into a deep depression leaving Raven's two older brothers to take over the farm. Eventually his father came out of his trance like state and returned to running his farm. He was struck down by a faceless mugger on one of his few trips to the cities. Raven slowly lost contact with his brothers over the years, concentrating on his career of soldiering. And he excelled greatly in his field, even learning how to use minor magical powers that he did not know he possessed to aid him in battle. He was offered many promotions, but he prefers to remain a simple soldier, content to do his duty and let others worry about the details. The current war with Karash has slightly unsettled Raven, though he will never admit it. He has never seen the forces of Darkness gather in such strength, their numbers beyond counting. He cannot help but wonder how long it will be until the border falls against such overwhelming odds. |
