Has anyone read this? I recently came across them. My mother and I were walking through the bookstore one day looking for something new to read. We chose this series randomly, cause she thought it looked interesting. I figured it was probably your typical mediocre fantasy book, but decided why not. I had nothing better to do.

I was mistaken.

This is easily one of the best fantasy series I have ever read. The storyline is complex and intriguing. The characters are incredible, and the world is really well developed.

The series is called the Symphony of Ages. The author is Elizabeth Haydon. There are six books so far. The first three, Rhapsody, Prophecy, and Destiny, stand on their own. They are asingle cycle that you can read and, once finished, are left feeling like it's ended. The next three, Requiem for the Sun, Elegy For a Lost Star, and The Assassin King, start a new cycle. That cycle has not completed yet though. There is at least one book left. And The Assassin King ends in probably one of the biggest cliffhangers I have ever read. And it's a new release too :(.

And one of the things that impresses me is that events in the second cycle are set up as early as the first chapters of book one. Little things you all but forget about come back in big ways. And it doesn't seem forced. The story and twists are very intellegent. If you haven't read this, I suggest looking it up.

So who's read this? Have any of you even heard of it? I'd love to actually find someone I talk about these to. The only person I know who's read them all the way through is my mother, and she now lives about 6 hours away.

Scum of the earth

You know when the cliffie-book will be released? I dont know about Elizabeth Haydon's way of writing, but some author spew out one or two books a year or one per five (grumbles).
