Carved into a mountain side is the castle that is called Musto Linna, and though the names means Black Castle, it is not a threatening name. It is more a reflection of the dark rocks in which it was crafted from. The castle itself is aeons of years old, with even the witches being unsure of when it was first created. This is the residing place of the Queen of the Witch Clan, Tuulikki Takala. Those in her favour tend to refer to her as Tuuli. Though it's outward appearance is as black as charcoal, the inside is lined with beautiful white and blue marble, a complete opposite from how it appears on the outside. There are not so many items within the castle itself, as the witches do not see possessions as important, but there are many decorative carvings and basic tables, chairs and so forth left over from days past that they use to their needs.

As further as they head north, the more difficult it got to travel. It became a lot more cold and the pathways were often dangerous. Thin bridges which were very slippery. Pathways up the mountains where two of Clitus' men meet their doom in the Abyss. The path was difficult to walk and often they had to stop cause the wind was really fierce. Sometimes they were not in a positition to set camp as the environment would make it too difficult for them to do so. The men woke up seeing that another party member had been frozen to death, no matter how hard he had tried to protect himself from the cold. Often by day and night they were attacked by wolves. Luckily they were well trained and they only suffered severe wounds from these attacks, but no mortal ones. As further they went up the mountains they could see a dark structure in the distance. It was difficult to see as there was a lot of fog. But if it was not the resort of the witches, then at least they could find some refuge there. Everyone was determined to reach the giant structure, not only to find the witches but to survive this mission. The path took them all the way to the entrance, but as any path through the mountains, it was suicide to climb it. Suddenly one of Clitus' men fell of the path due the fierce wind. In an eyeblink Clitus grabbed his arm before he fell. With help of his other men they pulled him back up. Clitus could not manage to pull the man himself up as his feet started to slip and he too was almost dragged down from the path. After such a harsh journey they finally reached the entrance. They were safe for now.... But there was no sign yet of the witches. |

In a blink of an eye, a blur swept over Clitus until an elegant looking woman landed in front of him and his men. She looked to him for a moment, wondering who this was. Was he here as part of the Princess' party? "Good afternoon...... You have done well to have reached this far on your own..... Many would kill for the knowledge of this place..... The gods must favour you to have brought you here..... To Musto Linna......." She stood upright, still gazing onto him. "My name is Tuulikki Takala, I am Queen of this clan...... You have brought war with you.... Riding on your shoulders and on your backs.... Just as with the Elven Princess..... Are times so desperate for mortals that our guidance is needed?...... You come on behalf of Achilles, Son of Pelius and Thetis...... To seek our assistance..... How noble..... But as I said to the Elven Princess..... This Queen you fear has never harmed me or my kind..... And until the day she does..... Our minds stay firm....." She said as she walked towards them. |

Clitus had difficulty to word himself through the bitter cold weather but he had to try, "You have great knowledge.... But... Callandra is dangerous... I do not doubt your wisdom, but when she'll try to attack, it might be too late for you to realize... We don't necessarily want you as allies in war... But as an alliance between our two nations..." Clitus paused to catch his breath. "I understand why you don't want to fight... All we want is to prevent that we become enemies... And we want to prevent any harm done to you by the Queen... We know that she will attack soon. I hope you at least consider that as a warning..." The men were shivering, Clitus gave them a quick look. "I sure hope we can enjoy your hospitatility... The weather and the environment has been hard for us... If it's not too much to ask..." He said humbly. |

She nodded, "Of course...... Please come inside..... deep inside the castle there is already a group of people from Elysium..... Princess Rose led them here...." She said as she turned and brought them inside the castle where it was somewhat warmer, "I appreciate that you want to protect others from the threat of this Queen..... But you must never worry about us being enemies..... We will never raise a finger to hurt you or your people..... We are not of that nature..... Thank you for your warning.... The Princess of Elysium gave us the same..... And I will admit, the fact that both of you have come here with such a worry, makes me...... Wonder....... Usually we will never raise a finger against another party who has brought no harm to us..... That is why I am unsure concerning your..... Alliance you speak of..... We affiliate ourselves with no one except ourselves...... It is the way it has always been...... So tell me..... Clitus..... What is it you really came here for?..... What is it you want?" She said as she turned to him and stared to him in the face. |

Clitus looked up to the witch, "I was honest with you, your highness... I meant every word I said... I came here to make sure we would not have you as enemies... And I came to warn of you of the coming threat... True... I was hoping for more... But I respect your choice and so will my master..." Clitus said as he bowed his head before her. She continued to stare to Clitus, "I am..... Un sure about which path to take concerning your struggle..... But I think I know what the best option is.... To go to Jää Onkalo.... That is where we keep the bodies of witches long since passed...... Forever in ice.... But all us witches can hear their voices still to this day from beyond the grave...... I will take you there..... And also the followers from Elysium..... And there we will discover which path my clan will take in this war......." She spoke as she bowed her head a little to Clitus, "If you follow me, I will take you to where the Princess of Elysium dwells....." "Of course, your majesty..." Clitus nodded to his men to do the same. He felt a little unfcomfortable concerning the Elves. How was he going to react? What kind of alliance did the Elves want. Another fake one with Queen Callandra or a real one... He didn't know. But he knew he would find some way to make some discrete contact with them, to pretend they are enemies. Though, did he have to? If these witches were so wise... Maybe they already knew of these fake battles and alliances... |

Rose was aware of a large group of people coming down the corridor...she could hear more than one pair of feet, anyway. Knowing that her men were occupied elsewhere in the castle, she quickly came to the conclusion that these must be more guests to the Castle. Curiosity overcame her then, and she left the shards of broken ceramic and the blood stained wall, and went to investigate, sticking her head round the wooden door frame. However, she did take the precaution of turning herself invisible first...just incase it was someone who she really didn't want to see her. Queen Tuulikki was showing another, slightly larger group of soldiers down the corridor towards her room, and at the head of the group was a man she recognized immediately, not by name, but by the simple fact that she'd seen him arrive with the dwarves during the fake attack. He was a Myrmidon, her supposed enemy...so how the hell did she react towards him? Did she behave like he was her enemy? Or was the Queen already wise to the situation, having seen inside her mind? Hoping that they did not know she was there, she ducked back inside and closed the door silently, then waited to see if the group would walk past her room. Infact she was hoping that they would, just to save her from the awkward situation of having to face someone who was supposed to be her enemy. |

Tuulikki led the Myrmidons into the chamber where Rose and the soldiers of Elysium were waiting, "Princess..... It seems another group has travelled all the way here.... To ask the same question that you did..... For us to help with this..... War...... And though I am not completely sure it would be a wise move, the fact both of you have shown so much concern to speak with me about it.... I can not ignore it.... And so..... I propose we go to Jää Onkalo...... The ice caves were we keep the glorious dead...... The witches of this clan are able to seek the wisdom of those witches, though in the afterlife...... Once I have spoken with them...... Then I will decide the stance of Laaksonen on this war......" She said as she looked back between Rose and Clitus. |

As the Queen had led the Myrmidons into the room, Rose appeared once more, having removed the invisibility, and stepped between the newcomers and her men, who had jumped to their feet and drawn their swords. "It's them!" One of the guards had shouted, but Rose had a sudden thought. "Steady," she warned them, one hand on her own sword just incase, the other held out towards the Elves, indicating that they should hang back and wait. "Remember where we are." "Princess, you know who they are, don't you?" Feanor protested, and Rose shot him a dark look. "Of course...but whilst in the hospitality of the witches, I think we should at least show some respect for our hosts by holding back on the violence...until provoked." Feanor glared back at her for a moment, then nodded his head. "As you wish, My Lady." He turned to the men then. "Lower your weapons." Reluctantly, the other elves agreed, and Rose turned back to Clitus and the Queen, hoping that Clitus would have the decency to do the same and order his men not to attack either.
"We go? All of us?" Rose asked as she folded her arms across her chest, and glared at Clitus. "Forgive me your Majesty, but that man is my enemy...I will not act against him whilst we are both here, in your home...that would not be very wise...but I will not help him either. Nor will I be seen to tolerate his company for longer than I must. I would be in big trouble if anyone were to find out that I'd been consorting with my enemy." She looked from the Queen, back to Clitus again and the look on her face was one of utter contempt. But even as she had spoken to the Queen about him being her enemy, she had to wonder if the Queen already knew that this was a lie... |

Clitus grinned at what the Elven Princess said. "You don't have to fear me or my men... As long as we are in the hospitality of the witches, then neither I or my men will show any agression towards you... We don not intend to harm you in any way... as long as you keep yourself to the same rules..." "And in which way would you help us?! You are here for the same reasons we are. Respect the decision the witches make. We shall leave with no hostility, if the witches decide to choose your side... It would be wise to do the same for you to do so, if they decide otherwise..." Achilles respectfully nodded to the Queen and gave another grin to the princess. He wondered what was going through her head. In the end they weren't enemies, but they had to pretend to be so. |

"Enough! No more bickering here..... The decision of the stance of my clan will rest solely on the shoulders of the witches who have long since passed.... They may be dead but their legacies and their wisdom lives on...... None of you will be able to hear their words, but I will...... We must leave for the Ice Caves, they are not so far from here.... But the weather is fierce, so I suggest you prepare yourself....." She said as she levitated into the air as she began to fly above their heads towards the direction of the large gates. Where they were heading was further up the mountain, and deemed to me somewhat more harrowing than the venture to the castle. Next post here (Click here) |

As the Elves left, the Myrmidons also decided to leave. However Clitus had other thoughts in mind. He wanted to know more of a book... Some called it the book of death... Clitus knew it as 'The Necronomicon'... A dangerous possession... dangerous knowledge. The Alchemist knew it and told Clitus a lot about the book. The Alchemist had it in his possession but Clitus never saw it. However he knew that legend said that it was a black-papered book written in human blood. Why Clitus wanted to retrieve that knowledge was uncertain. Even he didn't know why he hungered for it. Was it because if someone would know it... The Witches would? Maybe... There was only one way to find out. Clitus spoke to his men, "My brave soldiers... Here our paths seperate... You all have to return to Myrmidon... While I have to stay here... There is a little more for me to do... And I know I might not survive my return to Myrmidon without you... But that is a risk I'm willing to take." The Myrmidons nodded, but they had no clue what this was about. Why did Clitus wanted to stay. What else could he possibly want from the witches. None of them dwelled on it too hard and prepared themselves for the hard journey back, while Clitus made his way back to the Black Castle... Where he would in secret talk about 'The Necronomicon' and hopefully retrieve the lost knowledge... |

From out of no where, Tuulikki Takala appeared once again and landed in front of Clitus with a slight angered look in her face. "Clitus.... I thought I made it quite clear before that our business was done with.... I gave you my word on behalf of myself and that of my clan that we shall assist you when the time comes..... It is more than most would receive.... But I heard words in your mind have brought you here..... Something that you did not want to discuss with the Princess and soldiers of Elysium present..... And I also expect you would rather discuss it with me alone without even the presence of your men......" She gave a slight smile, "You wish to ask of..... Al Azif......" She said as she gave him a slight sneaky look, "Well, you best come in.... But your presence is expected to be short so please, do not make yourselves comfortable....." She turned and led them back into the palace and taking Clitus' men to a separate chamber while walking with Clitus to another. "So...... Ask your questions Captain.... Our time is short...." |

Clitus hesitated to ask... This was dangerous and now that they had an alliance requesting this information might damage the alliance between the myrmidons and the witches. "I want to find it... the book... the 'Necronomicon'... Don't ask me why... I know what I can expect to find in the book... I know that it's information is dangerous, but back at Myrmidon I have a library and I am capable of protecting the book as well as its information... We might need it in our battle... I'm not saying the book will be used for it... But if the information is able to keep the dead alive then we have ourselves stronger soldiers... soldiers who could survive spears through their heart... Such information is valuable... And I will not abuse it... I assure you..." Clitus took a deep breath and hoped she would not hold such information back and that she indeed could help to find its location. |

Tuulikki took a deep breath as she listened to Clitus' words. "You wish to look for the Book of the Dead..... And you claim you will not abuse it? Cheating death is an abuse...... Against nature.... Against mother earth itself.... You should know more than any the dangers there is in carrying such a thing.... It has been hidden because of the power it holds, and the lusts it can bring out in any man or woman...... You may be able to keep your soldiers from dying.... But what will you have?..... Nothing but followers of the damned, with no home to rest and forever sorrowing for their lost lives that they will never get back...... You are a child playing with fire...... And I can't imagine why you would think yourself capable of holding such an item as sacredly as you claim you will...... You are not the first to claim such wonderful words of valiant promises..... And to fall...... What makes Captain of Myrmidon so much different than countless others who walk the lands of the dead?....." She said as she looked to him seriously and with a slight bitter tone. |

"What makes me different?! Because I have dealt with the dead before! I know how to seperate them from good and evil. And these dead will fight for the good! And once this war is over, their soul will find peace... You didn't think I would keep them alive with the book forever, did you? My wife... She was a vampire once... True... I didn't deal with her death the best way a husband could... But I have learned from it... I learned how to respect the dead... I have since then studied them... The Alchemist knew how to use the knowledge... So will I! I'm no fool, Tuulikki... My book have granted me great wisdom and many of the books I posses hold information, that shouldn't be revealed to others... I keep many information to myself, not out of greed... But to protect it..." Clitus paused as he looked to Tuulikki. He wondered how she would answer to his next question. "Tell me... Would you rather see it fall in the wrong hands? To someone who would really abuse its power once it is found again? Or in my hands where it will be safe... Or don't you trust me... If you really think I cannot hold such information... I guess you don't know me then..." |

She looked to him for a moment, "In my opinion it is in the best hands.... And that is of no one..... It is kept safe that way..... Although..... I do wonder.... Your words are true and your heart has been made stronger by the things you have suffered, so I admit that I do doubt about my concerns over you, but not by much..... And, if you use it for the wrong purposes, I will personally snatch it from you, and I promise you... I will hide it in a place where no one will ever find it again.... And any you save with it's power before that? I will return them to the lands of the dead..... You have my word that I will..... So remember them well...." She closed her eyes and focused, she just hoped her judgment about Clitus was correct, "The book is on an island named Abyssos..... You will not have heard of it because it does not exist.... It has been lost in the sands of time like so many other things..... And, it is closer to your home than you may think....... Set sail from coasts of Larissa or Thessaly, and sail to the north west, as though you were heading for Troy..... One you have sailed half way between those two bodies of land, sail south..... That is the only way you will be able to find it... Those who try to sail direct find themselves lost..... Even if they map their journeys...... The island is surrounded by magic and curses to protect the Azif..... You would be wise to prepare yourself...... You can not miss the island..... It is made entirely of the blackest rocks you will ever have seen..... Some say that those who look upon it never forget it until their dying days....." She said with a little smile. |

Clitus grinned. His hope to find the book was reassured. "Thank you... And you won't regret this... I promise I will keep the information safe... As I said in the beginning... I'm not sure for what purposes I am going to use it... Do I want to raise the dead to fight for us... temporary... maybe.... Though I do know it's dangerous to do so... Maybe the only thing I want is that the book is in safe hands... And I truly believe that once it is in my possession, it will be..." Clitus stood up from where he sat, "Well, thank you for all the information... Though some more insight of the island would be welcome... Is there anything else I can expect there... Magical creatures... Or even more sininster magic? I have heard rumours... Though I do not know if they are true... I knew the book was on an island... Though I did not know where I could find it... But this island... It is guarded by the twelve nameless... Who are they?! " He asked a little afraid of what he would find on the island. |

She did not like to speak of the subject but she knew that she had to in order for Clitus to have the best chance, "Sinister magic? Well, there are many..... Creatures.... Demons that roam the island and protect the book itself.... It's name after all means the whispering sounds of demons..... And it is those who protect it...... And the twelve nameless..... Those you should fear above all.... They are the servants of Satan.... The Christians call him Satan, but you know him as..... Hades.... They will do anything for him..... But they also do it at their own will..... They want the forbidden knowledge for themselves and will not share it..... If you are to go to that island, I would make sure you do not travel alone, for you would not make it out alive if you do not have those you will be willing to.... Sacrifice...." She said looking to him seriously. |

Clitus thanked Tuulikki once again for her guidance and her advice and stood up from where he sat, "Well this is where I will truly leave... If I'm lucky I will catch up with my men... You have my word that if I find the book the knowledge will only be used for a good purpose... Or it will not be used at all..." They shared some last words with each other and Clitus left the black castle heading in the direction of the Myrmidons. No doubt they already were in a far distance, but skilled as he was, there was a chance he could catch up with them if he traveled through the night... But he knew that would be very dangerous. An attack by wolves could be expected. The night was dangerous and indeed he was attacked. Luckily only two wolves crossed his path and he killed them with ease. The attack alerted his men and some scouters turned back where they finally found Clitus. In only an hour he was rejoined with his men to finally head back to Myrmidon... |

Tuulikki watched as Clitus left, she knew that he was walking into something very dangerous. And now she would have to keep a very close eye on what he would do with the book. If he used it for the wrong reasons, then she would take it from him before he would have the chance to realize anything had happened to it. It was the only way she could secure the safety of others, and Clitus himself. She only hoped that he was not like the countless others who had gone searching for it throughout time, though she felt that he would just be the same..... |

The journey to the castle of the witches was a long one, but Tuuli flew above with infinite patience, occasionally seen with her bow in hand as she strike at predators that were not visible from the ground. She would keep them safe while they were in her company. Once all had entered the vast and echoed hallways of the castle, the doors mysteriously shut at their own accord. The castle was desolate as always, it looked as though people had lived there hundreds of years ago, with the broken furniture and ripped paintings, but it was still home to these strange women. Tuuli stepped up to the carriage that was standing within the castle, which this time she did not mind. She looked over to Norin, "If you want me to help her then you have to let me see her first..... I know the Queen is ill, but I do not know of what...." She stepped back a little, trying to signal and guide them into one of the rooms. It was where she had lead Rose and her men months before, a room with a large fire where they could all warm up. "The first step for you Norin is to trust me...." She said seriously. |

Taken back for a moment by the fact that she knew his name, Norin walked over to the carriage, where Lorcán was leaning out of the window, obviously bursting to tell him something. "Rose says friend," the cub hissed. "I asked her..." If Rose said Tuuli was a friend, then Norin wasn't going to argue. So he eventually lifted Rose out, and carried her into the room indicated, looking for a place to lay her down. She was deathly pale, but her hair was soaked in sweat and she shivered violently, letting out a little pained gasp every now and then. Had it not been for the fact that her skin burned to the touch, Norin would have just put her symptoms down to the extreme cold. As he stood with her in his arms, he turned to look back at the witch. "Can you help her?" he asked anxiously. "Please..." |

Tuuli's eyes looked Rose up and down, as though she could see something that no one else could see. Like a cat that watches with darted eyes at an invisible object, her eyes were wide as she continued to peer, "When did this begin..... How did it start?" She asked as she walked over to the fireplace where many vases were lined, all with what looked like dead weeds and branches poking out of them, but she began to snap a few off, grinding them together in her hand as she waited for a response. |

"A few days ago," Norin replied after careful consideration. "There's snow in Elysium...and there hasn't been snow there since Rose was five. She...we had a few snowball fights...just messing about. She was so excited about the snow...Then she caught flu...or at least that's what we thought it was...but she just got worse...and nothing anyone did could help..." Lorcán sat himself down by Norin's foot, watching the witch carefully, although he no longer showed any tension or hostility. Rose had said she was a friend, so for the moment he was willing to trust her. |

Tuuli kept looking at Rose with intense eyes, alarmed and watchful. She began to scatter the small pieces of heather, witch hazel and other strange weeds and plants around the ill Queen. "This isn't a flu.... Though she has symptoms of it, that's not what is keeping her this way.... Something else is destroying her..... It's unlike anything I've seen before.... Though it reminds me of...... Something..... An illness I heard of only in whispers.... But that is in connection with daemons..." She said as she looked at the little tiger daemon, "And he seems alright.... For now at least...... Do you not feel anything little one? What Rose is experiencing? Are you suffering as she is?" The witch asked politely, as she knew it was not so common to address daemons like that without being very acquainted. But desperate times called for desperate measures. |

"I do feel a little odd," the cub nodded, suddenly sounding alarmed. But whether that was because of how he was feeling...or because the witch had addressed him directly, it was hard to tell. "I can't feel my tail...but I think that's just the cold...but then I did feel a little light headed earlier...but again, I put that down to the cold...what is up with Rose? Will she be ok?" "You mentioned daemons...what is a daemon?" Norin asked after a moment, confused. Rose and Lorcán and Tuuli my have known, but no-one had ever explained to him. As far as he was concerned, Lorcán was just a cub that Rose had found and befriended on the beaches of Elysium. He had no idea that the two were connected in some way...even when Lorcán had mentioned it a couple of times, he hadn't been paying attention. Lorcán ignored Norin and looked from the unconscious queen to the witch, then back again, waiting for his own question to be answered. Then a thought struck his mind and he stepped forwards holding out a paw. "The name's Lorcán, by the way," he introduced, offering his paw to shake. |

The witch nodded out of respect to the little cub, "A daemon is a walking soul, in animal form.... As a part of you as your heart, your eyes, everything....." She looked to Lorcán again, giving a hint of a smile, "Rose is very ill.... My worries is that she has this illness I have heard of..... And if she does then it is serious..... You know little one, that if she dies, you will go with her..... As she leaves this world your existence will go out like a candle in the wind..... That's normal... But this disease.... This illness... It changes everything concerning that biology...... If she is left in this state, she will lose her very being. She will be dead yet still breathing, and nothing will bring her back.... But you will remain, little one....." She knew it was a horrific thing to tell him, worse than any news he could hear. Even the thought of them both dying would be better than one being without the other, "And she will eventually seize to exist.... Her heart will stop beating and her body will fall to dust with the ages..... But you will not die with her..... Lorcán..... You will live on..... That is the curse of this illness.... One of the cruelest that is in existence..... She will be lost without you in the lands of the dead, and you will be lost without her here....." |

Lorcán gulped, and held back a terrified whimper. That was, indeed, the worst news he could ever have heard. "Is...isn't there something...anything you can do to help her? Please?" he begged, his voice trembling for the first time as the shock and reality of the situation finally dawned on him. Looking to Norin, he could see the same feelings reflected in the human's eyes. To lose Rose would destroy them both. Especially if they lost her in such a cruel way. "It's my fault, isn't it," he muttered quietly. "If I hadn't of been created, she'd never have fallen ill...I did this to her..." |

The witch gave a slight sigh, though her face remained serious with concern, "I don't know what the effects are on others.... This disease would still have made her ill, perhaps have killed her even still, just the punishment would have been less cruel......" She knelt at Rose's side and placed her hand on her forehead, "She will die in a matter on days...... This disease is new to me..... These herbs I have scattered around her will prevent anything else coming to attack her during her weakness..... But this is strange to me......" Closing her eyes, she seemed to be thinking deeply, so much so that keeping her eyes open would only have been a distraction. She concentrated before opening her eyes once again and looking to Lorcán and then to Norin, "We must look to the past to understand this affliction..... My years may be vast but even I have only heard rumours of this, I've never seen it before in the flesh.... But our ancestors.... In the Ice Caves..... The Queen has been there before........ I must go there and ask for their wisdom..... If they know something then I can use it...... If not then...... It is out of my hands..... Only the gods would be able to help her then....." |
