Basically, I'm thinking that it might be cool to step forward in time in December, 2011. It means all your long-term plans can come to fruition. That Red Light District? Bezang! Those attempts to boost Adelaide's population? Absolutely! Plus, it means we can allow for periods of stability in between all the craziness since there's no actual RP in between. Folks can send me a basic brief on what they spend the time doing and depending on how in-depth it is will depend on how much bonus XP they get to spend (I'm thinking between 10 and 20xp). So, I'm going to do the poll now. Please vote on what you'd like to do. You can choose up to three options. Don't worry, werewolves, you lot age slower anyway. Even if you live to 120, you'll only look 80. Warning to those who love Futuretech: 2025 sounds super-futuristic but its only 15 years from now and therefore don't expect big tech changes! It'll be more future-modern than science-fiction. |

A 2025 game would be interesting for Requeim, I love cyberpunk, but for Elder and Ancient characters already behind in technology in 2011, it would be even more difficult for them to adapt in 2025. How more advanced were you thinking of having the technology compared to 2011? |

Nothing Cyberpunky. Faster computers. Phones the equivalent of our laptops. Better body armor. Slightly better guns (probably just improve the range on a few of them). Better modern conveniences. More buildings. It'd be about as much a jump forward in technology as 2010 was compared to 1995. Sure, there's stuff there, but its more advances on current technology rather than anything insane. Environmentalism will be fully established the way feminism has been. The glass ceiling will be almost eradicated. Homophobia will be as uncommon as mysoginy. Also, computer technology is leveling off. The advances between 2007 and 2010 in your average computer is nothing compared to 1996 and 2000, even if you're just looking at videogame technology. I wouldn't be jumping it forward to partake of better tech, more just to give an opportunity for some of the vampire plans and attempts to sculpt the city to come to fruition. So yeah, more 2025 the way local councils envisage it (more houses, more shops, better environmental design) and less the way science fiction envisages it. So, for all those hoping for awesome future-tech, sorry, you'll be disappointed. But internet fridges may be more common! |

Good to see no one would quit! All right then, keep voting if you hadn't already but here is my decision: No Time Warp this year. It will probably happen, be warned, but I'll wait until the end of chronicle (basically, when I get bored or when the major plots are resolved and it feels silly to just throw new ones at you). Rather than just end the chronicle, we'll skip forward in time. Really, the tech level changes will be minimal. It'll be more the face of Adelaide, which'll look more like Melbourne, which will have changed. |
