What is the regular replace speed for the machf car editor #39? Because I have this problem when skinning:

I make great (soportable) skins, save them and replace them. Until now everything's fine, but then I wait for an hour or so and the texture isn't still replaced. I can replace from other people's masterpieces, but I can't replace my own. I've waited for 2 hours as a maximum, it says "Reading Scanlines", but it takes hours!!! well I dont know if hours, i've only waited 2 hrs. So I can't make my own skins. Please help me by anwering: "What is the regular replace speed for the machf car editor #39?"

"reading scanlines" means its formatted wrong. what format of image are you using

(.jpgs lead to this, they dont work without his encoder, which no one knows where it is)

I follow every single step, I save it as 32bits BMP, use photoshop, save it as 32bits BMP, and "replace> 16 bit targa
16 bit BMP
24/32 BMP

and then I click on it and it just says reading scanlines. So, is the replacement really fast or do I really have to wait some time???

Well, it's supposed to take only a few seconds... I'll take a stab at it:
First, make sure you have the latest version of the CAR editor. Older versions could be problematic in our day and age.
Second, open MSpaint and look simultaneously at 2 skins:

Skin A: the original skin of the CAR file you want to reskin. You get it by extracting it using te CAR editor, and make sure to save it in 24/32 BMP format.

Skin B: the new skin which you want to use but doesn't work for you.

Here's what you need to do: Copy skin B and paste it on top of skin A, then save A and import that into the CAR editor. It should work then since it's the exact same subformat as the original skin.
