P.Rex's MESH Emporium!!!; new technology, new products!

Thanks to recent technological advancement, we common people now finally have access to the heart of the Carnivores games: the animal meshes. I immediately decided to take advantage of this, and, using Anim8or, I edited existing models into new ones. Here's what I made so far:

Lizard:

Megalosaurus:

Ceratosaurus, horns removed

Leopard:

Smilodon, saber-teeth removed, tail made longer

Lion:

Smilodon, saber-teeth removed, tail made longer, mane added

Kentrosaurus:

Stegosaurus, some plates reshaped into spikes

Scelidosaurus:

Ankylosaurus, tail club removed, head spikes removed

I don't think the models are currently being exported with their texture coordinates, so you should probably wait until then beffore you make any modifications... and also, until the animations are exported (and imported back later) together with the mesh. You've been deleting polygons, and if you attempt to import those meshes back into a .car file, the game may crash or something, as the number of faces and points won't match the original's or the animations' anymore...

Don't worry, I didn't delete or add anything - I only moved the joints around. These models still have the same polygon count as the originals.

Great to see my tool is being used already!!!
I have fixed the Texture co-ords so they are now exported to the .OBJ format and also displayable in 3dit.
Next in line is Animation editing, just one problem with that though... GameMaker has terrible 3D fuctions, so completely accurate Animation displaying in 3dit won't be possible unless I use a DLL with either OpenGL or DirectX 7/8/9.
The animations will be exportable as .OBJ files and .CAN (Carnivores Animations) so P.Rex just hang in their and soon we can have these models in game.

Great work btw on Megalosaurus, I'm thinking of using the Ceratosaurus mesh as a base for a new Allosaurus.

There are a few out there and I can use all of them to a degree, the problem is, they screw around with the co-ordinates or even don't have mesh building options. The best at the moment is U3D (Ultimate 3D) but Dr-Best, the guy that made it, changed the functions a little bit and even took older functions out, so I have to learn the new/modified functions and a way to emulate some of the older necessary ones.

BTW what would you guys need with SHADERS on a Carnivores animal anyways? maybe use it in a render function, but then we also have Parallax/Bump mapping as well...

Hmm I guess I need to post a picture of new the UtahRaptor.

It's no problem actually, Anim8or is much easier to learn than most 3D programs. And it's free too! :lol:

Rexhunter99's .CAR Model Viewer is the one that can extract the mesh as a Wavefront .OBJ file - I haven't added that capability to my editor yet.

because his image hosting site changed its domain from maj.com to majhost.com so all his image urls are messed up :angry:
