I'm Jaredmachine- I used to mod Carnivores 2 a looong time ago, and I used this forum as a reference. I'm back into shooting dinosaurs again, and I've got a nice rex skin to show off.

I made this a looong time ago, and no, I did not texture him by myself. I combined elements of three photos into a crocodilian skin, with major color modifications.

I put a lot of time into the little things in this skin: the scales, bumps, and ridges get smaller and lighter toward the belly and inner leg. The seams are hidden by scale formations. It's pretty V.rex-ish, come to think of it.

Despite all the non-computer things I do, I have some free time available to take skin requests, if anybody trusts me with a .car file. <_<

It's almost like the real thing! Yeah, using real animals is a good technique. Reminds me that I used pictures of my cat to improve the smilodon... :P
How about you improve all the dino skins this way? Like, use a tortoise for the ankylosaurus, lizard scales and parrot feathers for velociraptor, etc.

Because elephants are mammals. They don't have scales, and they have hair.

Interesting skin, though it looks a bit odd seen on a T-Rex...

I suggested it because Some paleontologists are saying that Brachiosaurus had gray and wrinkly skin, like an elephant, and, yes, Elephants are mammals after all, though, on a skin, the hair wouldn't be that visible. B)

Scary was the intent, rather than scientific accuracy.

I've got a skin going that's pretty amazing, and it's not Ankylosaurus.

Rar.

Here are two other pictures- one is obviously the rex, but the other is something else.

Hm, it looks like you took a Spino, made some of it's spine transparent and kept the rest to make it look like Godzilla...

We have a winner!

Almost.

It is Godzilla, it is based on the Spinosaurus model, but the skin is TOTALLY redone.

I moved the eye from its original location on the back of the skull to under the nasal crests in the middle of the skull, etc.

So there you go.

As much as I liked the original Godzilla, can you make a Zilla skin? You know 1998?

Yeah, Zilla is MUCH more suited to be Spinosaurus.

Yeah, thats what I called him, Zilla...and if you've seen the Final Wars movie, you would see that Japan was pissed about Zilla, so they killed Zilla with Godzilla...:P

Its a rather funny scene, Zilla is like faster than a Speeding Train, and the stad-up-right Dinosaur Godzilla takes 5 seconds to turn his body around to hit Zilla while he is already in the air like 10 feet away...he hits him...you gotta see it.
