Company Champion for Dark Angels?

It's my first time posting here, so pardon me if this has already been discussed.

Why aren't company champions available for Dark Angels? I mean, I know DA aren't supposed to be an assault-heavy army, but I've always liked the look of power-sword wielding, power-armor wearing marines with a shield leading his troops into battle. I just happen to like my marines in robes is all.

Yes, I could kit out a sergeant with a power sword and either a storm shield or a combat shield, but look at it this way: to get the attack base and the leadership score (and the ability to wield a storm shield, which I'd really want to take), I'd have to take the 10-pt increase to get to veteran. Add to that the 15-pt increase for a power sword, and I'm already making the model more expensive than a standard Space Marine Company Champion, without any of the special rules that the company champion has, and without the extra WS or the free combat shield. Sure, the sergeant has the benefit of having some decent options for making himself more versatile, but I'd really like to be able to make him a decent assault leader, especially considering that the company champion exists in the Dark Angels Codex- admittedly stuck with a crappy Blade of Caliban.

So my suggestion is that, if anyone from Heralds of Ruin is paying attention, to add in the Company Champion to the next update to the Dark Angels list (and personally, I'd rather it not be with the Blade of Caliban). In lieu of that, I'm wondering whether it would be fair to houserule for the Company Champion to be allowed within a Dark Angels team, with some minor changes of course, such as switching Chapter Tactics with Grim Resolve and possibly Honor or Death with Inner Circle?
