Hi :)

In my infinite wisdom, I have packed all of my codexes away in the loft and am in a bit of a pickle. This will be for the last version of Codex Imperial Guard, not the latest ministorum version.

Imperial Guard are put together in platoons so am I right in saying that you can have the following?:

Command squad (with advisors)
Upto 5 infantry platoons
A heavy weapon squad (3 heavy weapon teams)
A Sentinel squad (3 Sentinels)
A Specialist squad (6 troops, three special weapons)
Chimera transports where appropriate.

I have started building an army and have a platoon with command and two infantry Squads. I want to make sure that I can have a squad of 3 Sentinels as part of the platoon.

Your help is very much appreciated :)

If you are talking about the cruddace codex then the structure is for a basic guard company:

1x Company HQ

2-5 Platoons where a Platoon = 1 Plat command, 2-5 infantry sqds, 0-5 Heavy weapon sqds, 0-2 Spl sqds & conscripts sqd (base 20 men with option to add 30 more). Composition of the support squads are as you have stated above. Platoon command and infantry Squads can take a chimera as a dedicated transport

Sentinels are added as a fast attack attachment

If you mean the codex before that then the Heavy weapons, sentinels squads and special squads were added as part of the Command HQ structure where you could take 0-2 each for each command HQ so essentially you could have a total of 9 squads attached to the HQ from the following:

Fire support Heavy sqd (autocannons or Heavy bolters)
Anti tank Hvy sqd ( Missile launchers and lascannons)
Mortar sqd,
special weapon sqd

and 0-1 Sentinel sqd

Infantry platoons in this edition were the same as above, i.e 2-5 but you could also have demi squads that were called remnants.

you could also have conscript platoons and Heavy weapon platoons

Armoured fist squads were separate troop choices to be attached.

Hope that helps
