Hey new to the sight as well as Kill Team and was curious if the rules are updated for the Harlequins due to the fact that they have had a new release. Couldn't find a related thread but may have missed it, a redirect would be appreciate if there is one. Thanks, Brums |

They haven't been updated yet. Unfortunately it seems that Tom Meer, who seemed to be the "project manager" on the Herald of Ruins rule set has gone a bit inactive. At least he neither active here nor on the Facebook group, and neither are anyone else in the group that originally made the rule set, at least as far as I can see. So it's a good question on when the Harlequins and all the other new things will get either a rule update or new rules added to the HoR set. Hopefully the original founders of the rule set will return to activity or someone else will take over. |

Sorry for the late response. I have a PDF in the works based on the 2.0 release available, but updated for the new codex. Hit me up with any feedback you have for it. Harlequins 3.1n Document |

Why no Armour saves? Still missing the Solitaire also. |

I based the document off the current harlequin list. They don't have armor saves, but all have 5+ invulns. Also, as for the Solitaire, You want to use a 145 point model in this small skirmish game? |

Yeah...I just got the new codex....Soli way too many points. What about the Enigmas of the Black Library? I have to think that the points for the special characters had these factored into them or something. Or maybe only one per kill team? |

None of the other codexes had the enigmas of the black library included in their upgrades, and I wanted to stick with the template. It definitely needs some changes, and some of the equipment is pretty standard. Have any suggestions for new equipment? Which of the enigmas do you think are fine to just add in? |

I'm thinking of starting a Harliquin list aswell and thought the same thing; that it needs an update to the current rule set. I like what you have done with the rules. I would love to see the solitaire in there somehow. I know he is expensive in the codex, but perhaps he needs to be 'toned down' for kill team play - more like the one in the previous edition of the rules - with a higher points cost to bring him in line with the shadowseer and death jester. I think including the artifacts, for use on specialists and the troupe master, wouldn't go amiss as they are all quite balanced for points cost. After a quick review, I have come up with a 60pts solitaire by looking at the shadowseer and death jester, I saw that the only real thing that makes a solitaire expensive is his special rules. That being the case, make most of his special rules paid for additions and only keep those that are in line with the S.S. and D.J. and the unique blitz (which could be more like the old 2.1 blitz) should lower his cost. Make the 3+ inv, 12" move, eternal warrior and deep strike paid for upgrades that would make him cheaper and make his statline more in the realm of 5 4 3 3 2 7 4 10? More discussion on this? As I'm sure we would all like to use this amazing model in our lists without paying the high price tag he gets in bigger games of 40k. Edited by InfiniteRemains, 14 Aug 2015, 01:51 PM.

My Friends and I have finally gotten back to HoR, and I have done some more play-test of this list. (My 3.1n version or the harlequins document available above.) Harlequins play "correctly" I will probably be adding a bit more in the armory, it feels a little anemic, but I want to make sure it is balanced. The Solitaire. I'm not sure on adding the Solitaire still. Fluff Reason: The Solitaire is actually not a member of the troupe, but a temporary traveling partner that just kind of "shows up." They are suicidal kill machines as well. I don't know if they really would work well as part of an organized kill team like the rest. Crunch Reason: Part of the reason I started an update to the Harlequin list was that I wanted to play the "new" Harlequins with all their fun, crazy new weapons. By nerfing the solitaire into the ground, I feel like it wouldn't have the same impact as it should. Crunch wise however, I think I would LOVE to see it as a unique character hirable by any Eldar list, or any army fighting Chaos. Similar to how Davian Thule is only hirable by Imperials. I will figure out some rules and costs from them, and add him to the bottom of my document in the next couple days. Then I will share a new link here. |
