So having heard many a rumour regarding warhammer fantasy, i was relieved that my son and I stopping playing about 6 years ago. However I still look at all the new nice releases. Then along comes this. ![]() Always liked Gotrek and Felix, and with a sub-title "The Doom of Gotrek" it was a must have. The good news is that it takes up the story after Shamanslayer. Snorri is being helped with his memory, and Max and Ulrika are back. Therefore is one to the rumour that Black Library authors have been asked to wind-up characters true. Perhaps we will find out what happened to the likes of Thanquol and Lurk Snitchtonge. Will there be any more Malus Darkblade. Love to here some more of Jeremias Scrivner the Shadowmancer. Now the bad news. Finished book in 2 days and bought the fall of Altdoft on the way home. Could be hooked here. We had great fun playing the last large camapign "Storm of Chaos". Still have Middleland and Altdoft armies in a box, along with the greenskin horde of Grimgor. |

Finished The Fall of Altdorf. Enjoyed the read and definitely things have change for both the Empire and Bretonnia. Now here's my buts. Would have liked to hear more about the 3 steamtanks, since the trouble of mentioning them in the book. Also who was the hero in black and white defending the gate agains the Glottkins? Do like the new Supreme Patriarch Gregor Martak. Makes sense now the model of the Amber Wizard on Griffin. [not 2-headed though]. Spoiler: click to toggle For once I have all the character for the Empire battle of Heffengen. ![]() So if you dont want to know who's still living dont open next spoiler. Spoiler: click to toggle Looks like time to dust off the old Middenland army, as may be one of the few strongholds left to the empire, along with Nuln. And what of my dear Orcs. Nothing but running from Chaos, trying to escape over Axe bite pass. All this and Archaon has not made an appearance yet. Can anything stand. Edited by scrubber, 18 Nov 2014, 11:25 AM.

Hi Scrubber, Do you know if the End Times books (Return of Nagash, Fall of Altdorf) build upon the big background books that have been released with them or if they are just the same but in a novelised format? I'm definitely getting a hold of Kinslayer at some point (got all of the Gotrek books, even if I haven't read the last 3-4 yet) and wondered if it was worth picking up the End Times books when they hit paperback as I already have the background books which I'm really enjoying (just got to the second chapter of Glottkin, talking about Gutrot Spume who has just landed). |

Latest book read Novella by Phil Kelly. Sigmar's Blood.![]() Yet another model goes from our collection. Never did like Volkmar, face on figure reminds me of Ming the Merciless. Spoiler. Stop reading if you want to buy the book, but not hiding this because. £12.00 for a hard back Novella, with in my opinion not a very good story is a lot of money. Basic storyline, Mannfred von Carstein's minions steel the crown of Sorcery for him, Volkmar takes very small crusade to get it back. IT'S A TRAP. Volkmar provides the blood of Sigmar that Mannfred needs. Now the problems. Captain Zintler of the Reikguard dies along with the rest at the end as "Sylvania became completely drained of what little life was left to it." However said captain is with Helborg when Altdorf falls. Brambleten. Not read Return of Nagash yet, awaiting softback. From what I can make out the 2 book set from GW is a 216 page background story, and a book of rules/scenarios. When the Elf/Dark Elf book arrives, I understand it's a Dallas moment, the last series was a dream. Well most things we know of the elves my be a lie. |

ARCHAON Everchosen by Rob Sanders was the christmas storybook. If you want to know how he started on the path of Chaos, and his rise in the eyes of the gods, then would recommend this book. Must be another one to come as the story is only half told. Damn Good read. |

To-day. 13th January. On the GW website "what's new today". Picture of Skaven vs Dwarves. Looks like the dwarves may have the aid of Ogres. Valtan has found his way to Middenheim, which is now under seige from Archaon. Summer-Autumn 2527. Edited by scrubber, 13 Jan 2015, 08:39 PM.
