We came across this situation in a recent game and I wanted to see what the intention was for suppression fire. Specifically we had a unit that had one model in Line of Sight to the firing model. The model could not hit 4 of the models hiding behind solid cover. But suppression fire was declared as a way to allow targeting of models that normally could not have been the target of attack. So my question is, is this the intention for suppression fire? Or does the model using suppresion fire still need to be able to legitimately target each of the additional targets of suppression fire? |

I think the idea behind Suppression Fire was to have a more toned down version of the "Shooting at multiple models with multiple shots" rule from regular GW Kill Teams. So I would assume that you would need to be able to actually have Line of Sight on the models you are suppressing rather than just being able to hit them without it. |

I don't think that "Suppressing Fire" override Main Rulebook in "To Hit" and "To Wound" requirements - and both need LoS (only exception are blast weapons). So I would say: no, you can't supress models that you can't see... BTW: SM bolter firing rapid fire - 2 shots in 12" can it use supressing fire? |
