Hello everyone! Im very pleased to be back amongst the helpful denizens of the ammobunker after a rather long hiatus. I got married, got into fantasy and started playing Mordheim. In that order but they are otherwise unconnected. This project log is new for me in several ways. Ive never built, converted or painted anything fantasy before. Ill need your help! Im pretty good at posting up regular updates of fluff, battle reports and most importantly pics. Watch this space! Some fluff and pictures..... Warband is based around three ex Templars of Ulric. Knights that have been forced to seek their fortune after political corruption forced them from Middenheim. Collecting a band of tough mercenaries they descend on the city of Mordheim to vent their fury and marshall the resources needed to return home in force. They bring the tactics and strength of the Middenheimers; hammers, axes and strength! The following chap is one of my champions. He started life as a plastic mercenary and has had a maxmini resin cloak added (with the help of my very first greenstuff attempt!) ![]() His left arm started off as an archers arm, the bigger axe in his right hand is from the black orc set. Any greenstuff tips gratefully recieved! The head is from the newest space wolf sprue. Much nicer than the old ones. ![]() Edited by owentillier, 17 Aug 2012, 07:24 AM.

Only suggestion I might make is blending the collar into the cloak a bit more. I did this on my 13th Company by pressing the green stuff for the blend into the cloak and then working it through to get the fur effect. By pressing it in you can remove the excess and work the transition through so it fits what it will feed into. Liking the conversions though. Nice ideas. |

I think the key to GS is to practice, practice, practice - though it's way better than my first attempt. I think Keravin offers some good adivce and using another cloak to get the pattern. |

For greenstuffed fur, I'd actually suggest using a scalpel or hobby-knife to drag out the furry texture. Otherwise, what they said. |

Keravin: thanks for the tips, I actually only managed that basic texture by pressing the cloak into it. Struggled quite a bit drawing it out but have since acquired proper tools. Cheers Marovian, unwanted. I'll hopefully have some more to post up on thursday involving a heretical conversion of a warrior priest ![]() Watch this space! Couldn't wait til Thursday risked riling the missis by a spot of greenstuff / conversion on the sofa during dinner. With this one I'm trying to give the warrior priests hammers an Ulric makeover. Less blazing suns more wolves! I've tried to make a mould from a space wolf axe which I'll then use to replicate and craft a greenstuff wolfshead onto the hammers. Reckon it'll work? ![]() Edited by owentillier, 19 Aug 2012, 05:19 PM.
