Not many outside of Calvarian sector have heard about the daring missions done by the Special Strike Service [SSS], actually not that many in the Calvarian sector have heard about the SSS either. It only proves that they are really, finest of the finest, serving the Emperor with relentless zeal in every mission they undertake. Heard of the downfall of Arch-Lunatic of Bzeyde, a heretical sect-leader allegedly brought down by five squads of Grey Knights? Yip, no Grey Knights there but the brave SSS, saving the day for the humanity once again. Same goes for several other well-known and celebrated triumphs of Imperial forces and agents in Calvarian sector, credit seems to fall to where it is not supposed to. Then again, after you meet few distinguished members of the SSS, which numbers currently only 20 hand-picked and battle-proven individuals, divided into two squads of ten, you might not wonder any more why they are not applauded publicly as the heroes of humanity...

Trooper Merk, squad Wun secondary sniper, functions as spotter for trooper Derk, seen here activating a remotely controlled claymore (vet with sniper rifle)

Trooper Draks, anti-tank specialist (vet with meltagun)

Trooper Traks, point-man... ork. (vet with shotgun)

Trooper Gawge (vet with shotgun)

Trooper Bombz (vet / could denote demolitions doctrine)

Sergeant Killjoy (Vet Sgt with bolt pistol / mech arm)

Built these today after suffering a bit over a week of being very unproductive due to a fever. Will build more when my order from Krommlech arrives. I have never played Kill Team, but made a 200 pts IG list, two veteran squads so thus these boys were born.

C&C welcome.

Some very cool orks you have there!
But why have you chosen to play them as IG veterans? :)

Indeed, there not IG, they is Orks son.

Great models and conversions, what is the fluff that covers the use of orks as IG? Very interested.

They is specialists alright, trained from an early age to walk like John Wayne and how to avoid overheating in their " sumo suit" ork costumes!

Cool idea!

Cheers gents.

The idea was that they are truly the chosen few, the most military-minded lot of Orks humanity has encountered. They are properly trained in arts of war, small squad tactics etc, used in suicidal small scale strikes, in situations where sending a small force of humans would be a waste as chances for survival are so slim yet since there is a chance so it's worth to send something thus the SSS to the rescue. Of course, the boyz...errm, boys of the SSS are more than happy to get a chance for some good dakkadakka for the Big-boss-Oomie-warlord in his Big-Waagh against everything else.

So the lads, although trained in human art of war, retain their orkyness not only in their robust appearance (no sumo-suits, although the idea is quite good, I must say) but also in their love for big explosions and lots of dakka. Thus snipers use not accuracy but rather spray and pray method of hitting things etc.

This way I get to use human stats with cool ork miniatures and the gear fits the oomie codex, quite wysiwyg, innit? :)

There will be still specialist with flamer, two specialists with grenade lauchers (M-79 kind), two more shotgun wielding boys and rest of the lads will have AKM styled autoguns (Krommlechs Orc Sturmgewehrs).

The list is very simple:

squad one: Sgt with bolt pistol and ccw, two vets with sniper rifles, one vet with grenade launcher, rest 6 with autoguns

squad two: Sgt with bolt pistol and ccw, vet with melta gun, vet with flamer, vet with grenade launcher, 4 vets with shotguns, 2 vets with autoguns

Remember with 2 snipers, only one will be able to move and fire ( forgot which trait you need to give him)

Can't duplicate universal special rules, I believe.

Models look neat mate, and thats a snazzy concept too. Can we assume they'll be getting more practical looking camo? :P

Cheers guys.

So got carried away and just ordered two rides for these boys, they don't always get air-lifted into action and sometimes they are maybe even expected to return from their missions... of course, if they show too much progress, their next mission on never ending to do list will be the impossible kind :)

So anyways, I ordered this, Orc Gruberwagon and this, Orc Warbus, both by the Puppets war.

I have never played a game with the kill team rules so actually I don't know which version of them is the latest and the official one even, but at least the lads can drive around (read: I play with the minis) if nothing else :D

caine: thanks. So fightabomba coming, possibly. Sounds great!

So here's what I got from a local gaming store while on Easter holiday "in the province" aka countryside.

I'm afraid this project will not continue as a kill-team project any longer, but it will become a full Orks as IG project.

So may I introduce you fellas the newest additions to the SSS, the Ork Commissars:

Head honcho with bolt pistol and powerfist:

And two of his underlings, both with bolt pistol and ccw:

The bodies and heads are by Maxmini (still got two extra bodies and one head with pickelhaube helmet), arms with guns and gubbins are normal GW material.

After I have made the two veteran squad (waiting the parts from Krommlech to arrive, hopefully next week) and then building the vehicles I ordered from Puppet Wars, I think I need to order again some parts from Krommlech, this time the great coat orks to form company command squad, platoon command squad and two platoons. Sounds like a plan.

Gah, the Maxmini stuff looks better than the standard GW bits. These are really nice and it's a great concept. They are Bloodaxes, clearly.

I'm not sure that from a fluff point of view that they could be Imperially employed though... There is No situation in the 41st Millennium where loss of human life is unacceptable. The Emperor loves to send in wave after wave of his own men...

But as Bloodaxes, militarily trained, cap wearing Orks, they fit perfectly.

Good point there Antipope, indeed Mankind has no qualms about loss of human life in the dark 41st millenium but this way I get to use IG list and use characterful orks ;)

Blood Axes have been my favourite of the klans with Goffs so maybe these individuals represent the most adaptive and militaristic of Blood Axes... that, or then I have to go along with Digits idea of "sumo-suits" :D

Getting home from work and I was treated with two parcels from Poland, one from Puppetswar and other from Krommlech. So with new stuff and parts I managed to build the Grüberwagon, from now on known as the G-wagon and three more kommandos. The Puppetswar bus is quite a beast as can be seen from the pic! And besides wanting to order few ork planes from Puppetswar, I think I will order also two more G-wagons and run the trio as sentinel stand-ins.

Neat concept, I thought they were blood Axes. I understand that GW will be making flyers for some races in 40k this year and some more to follow, that means orkses get Fighta/Bombas Yay! So dont get too many resin ones. :)
