Hello all as the title suggests, I'm looking for a decent, easy to use, and most importantly FREE piece of software I can use to edit videos from images, videos and audio files.I currently use Windows Movie Maker on Windows 7, and to be honest it's not very good at all. I had been using the previous version on Vista, which although a little clunky was still quite user friendly: you could drag clips, images or text to be as long or short as you wanted - now you have to enter the precise time in the menu. The previous version displayed the audio of the track, so you had a visual frame of reference for when things were happening in the music that you wanted to time the images to. The new version loses that - again, you have to enter the times in the menu. The new version has improved the animation effects, but that's it. It's a much less user friendly tool, and can be a bit frustrating. I am looking for something which will be compatible with Windows Movie Maker files (so I can carry on with the videos I've been working on), has the visual features (e.g. the audio as a 'wave' depicting increases in volume/noise), and decent pre-assigned effects. If anyone knows where I can get something which will fit the bill I'd be very grateful, thanks for looking!
