Former lurker, now a member. Got hooked on all the great scratch-built models posted here, so I thought I'd join. Here's some photos of a conversion job I did on MPC toy personnel carrier. These toys go for $5.00 at the Toy Soldier Depot. The plastic they are molded in does not accept paint easily, but so far they have held up fine. I started with this: ![]() and made a multipupose Engineer vehicle called the "Taurus": ![]() ![]() ![]() and this ad hoc APC ![]() Both together. I later added a flamer to the Engineer vehicle: ![]() As these are a bit oversize for 40K, I made this diminutive version with a turret ring allowing universal swapping of various weapon and comm systems: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited by Brushfire, 27 Jan 2012, 12:05 AM.

Yep. I have them posted originally at Dakka Dakka. I know what you mean about browsing the toy sections. I also check out yard sales during the spring and summer. There is a lot of great GI JOE stuff and other toys to be had for cheap as the basis of many a stratch-build project. I also feel a bit uncomfortable when I go to the crafts sections in the sewing departments, but hey, there's great bits to be found among all those girly sparkly beads and glitter!;) Check out the toy Soldier Depot online. Lots of good stuff there, dirt cheap. http://www.toysoldiersdepot.com/ Edited by Brushfire, 28 Jan 2012, 02:30 PM.
