Anyone know if Autocannon are broken down for transport/think it sounds feasible as they're huge? I'm wondering about the whole barrel coming out of the main body

Yeah they seem pretty big to lug around. My first thoughts when I read the title was the same as yours, barrel comes out of body and carried separate.

Hmn, depends on the pattern but I would say no.
Have one guy lifting the frony and the other guy lifting the back.

The best would ofcourse for the guards to have it mounted on wheels like the krieg:

The closest thing I have seen in the real world was a 25mm that was vehicle mounted, the barrel came of then the only other part you took of was the feed system from the ammo hopper at the back of the turret.

I would pitty anyone that would have to carry or even role on wheels that big of a weapon. Just a full ammo can is a two man lift for that thing.

I've always assumed that they would unscrew the barrel and carry it separately. Just having a couple of lugs that secure it in place for ease of fitting when it needs to be used.

Plus, a quick-change barrel means a superior sustained fire capability, which is already one of the autocannon's primary utilities.

I've trimmed a bit out of the barrel on my set up ones, not quite as much as Crass, but similar and my reasoning behind removable barels was as much for portability as for the barrel swaps.

It all sounds feasible so I think I'll go with that

Cheers all, hopefully pics in my IG log later today
