Once I hit the scots with a dull coat the swords wont look as bright and shiny as they do now. Pictures don't really show the layering I did on them in anycase. I was surprised as well with Nicodem having a bionic leg. I'm currently living in Kingston right now. |

Thank you for the kind words. I completely agree with you on the sculpt, its the main reason why I even got the starter box for his crew. That and the graverdigger being a fatman wielding a spade... Anyway, on to finished pictures of Nicodem. Total hours of painting: 5.5... This is the most I have ever spent on a single model and while I'm not 100% happy with how the vulture turned out, overall, I'm quite please with the fact that I used many techniques that I'm not normally comfortable with using (IE inks and wet blending). ![]() ![]() Very much looking forward to start gaming Malifaux. Only speed bump to this is that my university's wargaming club lost its clubroom ![]() EDIT: Not to let my Infinity stuff be outdone by Malifaux, they pleaded me to have their picture taken with a proper white background.

Here is a Pre-PIP pictures of the gravedigger. I'm going to have to go through the tedious process of planning out the paint scheme for him, but taking a break from painting and doing a bit of terrain work might be next up to bat for me.![]() I think I might have quite a bit of fun painting up his slightly exposed stomach... maybe making it rather dirty looking. I have painted massive pit stains on my WH Giant, so it would not be beneath me to do such a thing... EDIT AGAIN....: Doing some reading into his card and states "Mortimer" (as the model is called) is rather.... obsolescent. Apparently in the first few versions of Malifaux he was actually quite useful, but not so much now. Model = awesome probable time on table = low Edited by F!re$torm, 3 Feb 2012, 05:29 AM.

How about this recipe for the Grave Digger: Brown leather coat and hat, blue denims and a hint of red flanel/plaid/tartan for the shirt? Oh, and ginger hair/beard

mmmm blue denim and plaid shirt... Not sure if pocking fun at the fact that I'm a Canadian... I do like the idea of denim and plaid for the gravedigger, a "blue collar" of a trade and a blue collar style of fashion. In other news, I decided to give the 45th Highlander models I painted up as a going away gift. One of my friends lusted over them for a long time and since he is getting posted off across the country, I decided that they would be a suitable gift. You never know, it could tempt him into commissioning me to paint up the rest of his crew. The real drive that pushed me to give the Infinity models away as a gift is that I haven't really been able to find any takers within my wargaming circle to actually buy, paint and play with me. I don't mind painting up multiple crews, but its nice when other people participate in building terrain. Malifaux on the other hand has exploded and now I have five people to play against, although I will probably relied upon to produce all the terrain... |

Bwahaha, I took no insult at all. I'm tempted to paint his flesh "ghoul" like as I imagine that considering he is one of the only models in the Resurrectionists army that is rather portly, thus must be eating some of the corpses he exumes... Being really under the weather today, I was ordered to take a sick day, so I found myself rather bored sitting at my desk. All of my paperwork had been completed, I had done all the readings for the week, in short, everything was done for the week and it was Monday afternoon. This lul in work allowed me to start painting Mortimer. Now I'm going to have to say right away that I'm not a huge fan of this model. He has nowhere near as much character as Nicodem or even the "Samurai Zombie Punks" that are included in the starter box. Its also really plain. Granted the model has much more of a 3D pose to it, but it really lacks in just the simple details that would make it pop out amongst the horde of undead models that follow a Nico crew around. PIP ![]() UPDATE #2 Well, I finished off Mortimer. Still no impressed with the model, but I like it a bit more then before. One thing that is starting to annoy me is my can of Army Painter "Matt Varnish". Its definitely not matt since its leaving my models a bit shiny. Odd because this is the first time a can of Army Painter matt varnish is not actually making my figures matt. I've had trouble with different cans frosting my models. This is a brand new can, with the clear cap and I've always used cans with the white cap, so its a bit troubling...

Yes! Finally got my grubby hands on Rafkin! Looks like a joy to paint and deff will be interesting. Brings a huge amount of flexibility for Nicodem AND McMourning. Started already on the base, wanted to have lots of bones and body parts as Rafkin has a think for dismembering people and exhuming bodies. ![]()

Some PIP of Rafkin. I'm painting this model a bit quicker then usual, I have to get my crew in order for a local tournament, which means pumping out a LOT of undead models.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Quick update on Rafkin. He is done, but my "dull coat" has struck again and made him slightly shinny... ![]()

Yea, I really noticed the "freshness" of the blood after I took the picture. I went back and added some darker hues of red and browns to try and make it look a bit more crusty. I've hit a bit of a wall with painting my Malifaux crews. I haven't been able to generate any personal interest in putting the brush onto them, so I've switched gears a little bit and have moved back onto my ImagiNation (historical) project and rekindled my interest in Infinity after getting a game in at my FLGS. Without further adieu Ta-Da!: ![]() First impressions of the Aleph set... Frack my life they are going to be an EPIC pain in the rear to assemble. There is going to have to be a LOT of pinning and use of GS to smooth out the joints. I long for the days of the one piece metal model... oh wait, I'm still stuck in these days with my other projects

Coincidently I've just assembled my first two Infinity models, also Aleph - an Asura with Spitfire and Dakini Tactbot with HMG (I decided to just start with a couple of models, but plan to get the Aleph starter box next). The Dakini came in about 9-10 pieces, but was surprisingly easy to assemble once I got started. I did pin everything except the shoulder & shin pads, otherwise I don't think it would have lasted long before it disassembled itself. I like the white & red colour scheme you've chosen - it'll be good to see how you get on with your models as I start painting mine... |

I don't mind most of the "human" (can't really call them that actually) models, I can deal with one - three piece models. The Dakini and Garuda bots on the other hand... When I assembled one of my to many Dakini bots, I was testing out the strength of just using super glue to assemble the model. Its holding up quite well actually, I'm surprised that it has not fallen apart yet. Thanks for the kind words about my painting, yours is quite fantastic, very much looking forward to see which way you go with yours. This model is serving as a test bed for wet blending greys and whites, I've never really had to paint much white before, so its a bit of a shock. |

Finally my Aleph order arrived after sitting at the US-Canadian border for nearly two weeks...![]() Placed an order for Probots, Rebots, a Marut, Myrmidon (with Spitfire) and the new Dasyus sniper. Once they arrive, I will have access to all of the available Aleph models for building lists. I'm rather looking forward to May's releases as the support pack is rumoured to be next for Aleph, Devas and Devabots! Hackers EVERYWHERE!!! |

Wow, that's a lot of models - although I would like most of the models eventually, I'll be buying mine somewhat more slowly as I'd find that much unpainted metal on my desk too daunting and would probably wander off and start another project instead. Looking forward to seeing them painted - it should be an impressive force once it's done. |

Normally, I would not be owning that many models at once as well, I did a trade in project for them. I sent in a couple of GW projects in return for some models. |
