Hello all, a new Topic from me and our group - the English Civil war in 54mm!
Our group- "Skirmish Wargames Group" almost exclusively wargame and skirmish in 54mm. We are well known for it, very kindly winning many prizes up and down the Country for Best Demonstration game etc. Sadly we have been doing this for over 30 years and so we are a ..."mature group" but always looking for others to join our madness. ! The excuse we give to interested fellow gamers - who ask why 54M? is our eyes are failing and we need to paint BIG !
Anyways, enough preamble...some pics for you all of our ECW Efforts...
Wayne "Duke" Millard - SWG

These were taken from our first fledgling ECW game back in 2003 !
Primarily CTA (Call to Arms 54mm) Figures with bucket loads of conversions and new weapons muskets , metal pikes etc

ECW.

Being a McJock I know not this era of history (though my forces education in Ingerlish skools speaks otherwise.)

I believe there are other folk on here who ould like to see mor in depth close up pics of 54mm minis, to see how they compare with 28/32mm GW offerings (that and there are a few Yanks/colonials who take pleasure in the ENG killing themselves, dirty Dark Eldar sadists that they are!).

Chris Felton (arms folded), "Lucky Pete" Reynolds , Beth Lofting (yes a woman I know ! and a tough opponent), me "explaining" ... and Andy Duff mulling the whole thing over.

So some more ...this time a SWG member whose day time job is building Film Sets etc so Chris Roope's Buildings reflect his talent in producing period Architecture and his figures are lovely too !
Posted Image
This is Chris's tavern . All of his Buildings in Stone are this Honey colour reflecting much of England's Buildings particularly the Cotswolds. This was the centrepiece for a skirmish set in it and its Courtyard.
The next two pics are zooming in

the Figs are in the main are Chris with Mike's(Botch) drunken Officer .
the next is a view some of Petes Royalist cavalry , everyone a conversion cantering past Chris R's dwelling.

next up some of Chris's Units in and around our Skirmish "Twas the night before Naseby"

and then some of his Infantry (they are from his London Trained bands he lives and works in London) and cavalry Regiments in the fields outside .
this game won a prize at a recent Salute show in London.

The nearest figures are conversions from his storming party and behind the White and Blue Trained Bands. Dragoons offer support .

That is just some very, very impressive work. It must really help having a movie set builder on team as well.

Well well well, where to start?! Lots of pics of really enticing games here, as noted above the models are really impressive (any close-ups you have would be appreciated) and that scenery is just flawless, makes me want to start planning a fully modelled board right away! Was Chris responsible for all of the buildings, or was this a team effort?
