Having sat down and read the codex, I predict the following to be the basis of most competitive lists. It's Necrons, Armored Fist style. I shall be coining the moniker 'Deathglider Assault' Anrakyr The Traveller, mounted in Catacomb Command Barge, with Gauss Cannon Royal Court: Necron Lord with Warscythe, Res Orb, Phase Shifter and Sempiternal Weave. (attached to unit of Immortals) Cryptek-Harbinger of Despair with Veil of Darkness (attached to unit of Eternals) 10 Immortals (Pyrrhian Eternals), with Night Scythe transport 10 Immortals, with Night Scythe transport 10 Necron Warriors, with Ghost Ark Annihilation Barge, with Twin-Linked Tesla Destructors and Gauss Cannon Annihilation Barge, with Twin-Linked Tesla Destructors and Gauss Cannon Annihilation Barge, with Twin-Linked Tesla Destructors and Gauss Cannon I make this out to be 1495 points, and it looks like a solid Mechanised List. Capable of sudden bursts of speed when needed, so it can outrun most Combat-heavy lists, and packing no less then -5- Twin-Linked Tesla Destructors, it has some serious firepower. From first glance this list will suffer Vs. Armor, but count in the 3 units Gauss Weapons, and The Travellers special ability (And if it comes down to it, the Warscythes) Should do the job. You also get 1 shot with The Traveller's Tachyon Arrow, so make that count. What do we all think? Edited by Tychonaut, 21 Nov 2011, 05:22 AM.

it looks rather solid, but honestly i think the gauss weapons are no serious threat to armour, not as far as i have experienced anyway. but the upside is that this list will kick alot of infantry [arse], though personally i rely on a big bulk of warriors supported with triarch walkers and wraiths, and a monolith, though im probably gonna leave out the lith and replace it with the doom scythe

My list covers the Necrons one major weakness, lack of speed in combat. I came up with it in response to people complaining about Outflanking opposition, like the Tyranid army list I cooked up.. It plays Mechdar at their own game and wins, at least on paper anyway. |

Having taken a closer look at the Codex, i've come up with a new solution to the overstacked Lord Dilemma. Remove the lord, rejig the Cryptek to Harbinger of Destruction with Eldritch Lance, and use the leftover 165 points to take... Vargard Obyron. Vagard leads the Eternals, and the Cryptek joins the regular Immortals. Problem Solved! |
