| Few fluffy questions as I'm throwing together my impy guard background; basically a "is this possible?" series of questions | |

Righty, just a few really but I figure if anyone could help me out it'd be the fine gentlemen serving in the ammo bunker first off, imperial guard commanders, is it plausable for them to be fat? I'm thinking of converting a creeeeed into a winston chirchil style fella but wasn't sure if the pot belly was unrealistic for an IG commander secondly, naming of IG tanks, I was going to go for a WWII inspired series of female names, once again is this down to each regiment or is there a certain rule about naming tanks? thirdly, less of a fluffy one really but do you think I could feild a squad of catachans to use as a penal legion squad? I figure they look the part and all fourthly (is that even a term? it is now) and finally, how could for the sake of an unpcoming campagin weekend my friends and I are thinking of putting together, I ally my loyalist IG army with orks? just a few small things really but they're just ones that escape my knowlage, thanks a bunch

IG commanders can be fat, Churchill wasn't that obese after all. You can write whatever fluff you want for the naming of your tanks, I see no problem with girls names. Catachans can easily be penal legion- they do look rough. And finally, yes you can ally orks. Perhaps your less then picky commander has paid for some blood axes to ally with them - it has happened in the past. |

Firstly - I dont see why not, would probably add a fair bit of character. Secondly - Nope, no rule at all. Thirdly - Yes, so long as you make it clear that they are Penal Legion ![]() Fourthly - (yes, it is a word) Dont make it an alliance, just that the Imperial Guard are attacking an enemy when a force of orks just appears and piles in. If you want some kind of reason behind it, suggest shadowy eldar/elder races manipulating things

Thanks guys ![]() and with the orks I was mabie thinking it could be a bit of a trade ooff, like my IG hire them to help out in a scrap in return for a few spare supplies (though not lasguns, trying to barter with them is like trying to pay with scottish money in london) |

Matt Ward had Grey Knights murdering Sisters of battle (Yay for Bloodtide). I doubt anyone will have a problem with you doing any of the above. The Orks can ally with IG in an Apocalypse game, and fluff-wise weirder things have happened in the past. So yes, what everyone above me said. |
