A good day to everyone again! Having recently found my hobby mojo after about a year I had the urge to rebuild my urban terrain board. I plan to fill a 6'x4' table with a high density building count ideal for bloody close quarter encounters. The majority of the buildings are 3 storeys+ which will make objective grabbing that much harder when they're placed on a higher level Having aquired some more lots off ebay over the last couple of years I set about dismantling my old buildings to combine them with my purchases to create larger individual buildings. These will all be built onto their own base to provide for flexibilty when arranging them on the board. Anyway, enough waffle and onto the pics; Administratum: ![]() ![]() Ruined Tower - This piece is one of four Built on a triangular base to sit on the edge of the board. The plan is to have the streets running at 45 degrees across the board so as to limit long range gunfights. ![]() ![]() Ruined office block ![]() ![]() Command tower - As this building is pretty much intact I made it modular so that each floor can be removed for model placement. Stll deciding what I should add to the rooftop. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Town Square Statue - I have plans to add four flying butresses to each corner at a 45 degree angle to the main column. ![]() ![]() ![]() Shrine of the Aquila - I wanted a large and imposing building for LoS blocking purposes and somewhere for artillery pieces to hide in ![]() ![]() Bombed Church ![]() ![]() Edge Ruins ![]() Still to build are a Manufactorum of sorts, two corner buildings (much like a facade on a movie set) and a small fountain. Hopefully I'll have these primed this week whilst I'm off work and then it's on to the painting. Thanks for looking |

Nice to see pegasus stuff there too. This will look very cool when suitably rubbled and painted up. Damn it man! You are giving me the urge to build more buildings! I will resist however... |

No, no, no listen to the voices . . . Don't resist . . . you know you want to . . . This is just the thread I need to inspire my slowly growing box of Cities of Death stuff, to actually be all it can be. Will be watching with interest, great collection so far. |

Managed a few more hours on these today. The plan is to have them all fully built, based, rubbled and primed by the end of the week Old Guard & Digits: Thanks chaps! Ash: Glad to be of service. The boxes of unbuilt stuff was building up and I thought it's about time I built the damned stuff. I learned a few lessons from my last buildings, one being not to overdo the rubble as it became difficult for model placement during games. Got the main statue based onto 5mm black foamboard using the plastic modular movement tray pieces for paving and the butresses glued into place; ![]() ![]() Also got the church based and used a set of Pegasus rubble kits placed at breaches in the wall. ![]() ![]() ... and stuck some butresses on this one, also changed the top floor as the last one would prove problematic for my storage boxes. ![]() |

Nice work on the Pegasus stuff there sir. Looks great. Reminds me I have some of that kicking around somewhere. And the Marine statue looks great. Tops that off nicely. |

Looking great, I especially like the command tower. Is there any chance that you can take a pick of them all on a table together? I like the idea of having the half buildings to allow a 45 degree set up. I like setting up the board at an angle as well, but a lot of people seem to object to it. In the buildings that are just shells with no roof and look like they have been blown up by an explosion from within, have you thought about putting one of GWs craters inside? It might addd a bit of variety from the usual rubble piles. I think Pegasus do a fairly decent crater set as well. Edited by little brother, 28 Sep 2011, 01:12 PM.

Brother Vogt: Cheers! little brother : Thankyou! I will try and take a picture of them all on the tabletop tomorrow for you. I think some people object to the 45 degree setup because it stops them blowing the hell out of your army in the first couple of turns which means they have to think more about deployment and movement I did think about adding some craters to the buildings you mentioned but the GW ones were a little on the large side. I'll look into getting some of the Pegasus ones though. Right, a bit more progress today. I've had the Skyshield landing pad and two bastions for a couple of years now gathering dust so I thought I would incorporate them into my city of death... with a little modification of course. After juggling a few ideas around my vacuous head I came up with the plan to have a two storey bastion linked to the landing pad via an enclosed walkway. Here's what I've done so far; ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edited by Ebsolom Dhaark, 28 Sep 2011, 02:30 PM.

Love the use of the pegasus stuff and the armoured tunnel to the platform is a nice idea. |

Like the landing pad/bastion combo. Can you fit a tank under the walkway? |

Great collection of buildings Ebsolom. The movement trays work well with CoD. The Pegasus stuff too looks good merged with CoD. Your idea for the covered walkway is sweet. What part or where is the flooring with the curved patterned corners from that the Town Hall Statue sits on. I think i have identified pegasus bastions and pegasus walls but after that I am stumped

Keravin : Thankyou! Whilst building the walkway my head filled with ideas on making an Anphelion type bases using several of the bunker kits if I can pick them up cheap enough off Ebay, or some type of Imperial defence fortress. This will be my future project. deffberf : Thankyou! The curved platform is from an oldish Warmachine bit of terrain, I've not seen many about so I'm thinking it might be out of production. Ash: Cheers! Yes they will fit under but only if the hatches are closed, otherwise it's sore head time ![]() And more progress on the walkway; ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I had to stick the bastion on some foamboard and a movement tray to raise the height of the walkway so that if fits snugly onto the landing pad and the bunker, both for aesthetic reasons and functionality. I also intend to make this fully modular so that models can be placed in different levels, maybe even magnetizing the pieces if. It'll also come in handy for storage. God bless sunny days and energy drinks |

Sachiel - it's made up of Pegasus kits. They do quite a few and they fit well in with the GW COD look. |

Thankyou chaps! My progressed was hampered this weekend by the hot weather and beer but still managed some work on a couple of pieces. With the task of fully magnetizing the bunker/pad combo proving too difficult I opted to glue it into three solid sections. Having it with removable roofs and walkways was just asking for it to be damaged during games and storage so I convinced myself this was the best option as opposed to being lazy Also got it primered up along with the monument;![]() ![]() ![]() And here is a picture of them so far laid out on a 4x4 board as promised earlier; ![]() ![]() Back at work tomorrow so progress will slow down a little now but thankfully the majority is nearing completion ready for rubbling and priming.
