So I tried this once before and I'm going to try it again. Here we have me trying to show what I can do and get feed back.

I'm starting with a Chaos Warrior. I've got some Space Marines and Ork Boyz coming in (ANy help with that would be great). The pictures just show my work so far. Let me know what you think!

I think that is quite spiffing. There doesn't appear, from what you have painted, to be much I can advise you on, all looks ok. Only minor point is some of the metallics look a little streaky. Is that deliberate?

he's quite nice chief, i like the metallic armour and the gold on the accessories, the brown leather is good but could do with some light highlighting just for some contrast, looking forward to the marines and the orks

I'd love to say that the streaking is on purpose but I'd be lying LOL no I think the paint clumped on me and then I repainted that spot, hence streaking.

Still working on how to highlight without mucking it up :)

yeah i feel the sense of chaos. So this can't be bad, huh? :D Keep it paintin mate.

Tip: some wash could help in da end. Or use watered down chaos black, but it'S a bit you know you have to watch carefully when useing that way da black color. :)

Firstly I have moved this log into the General Painting Logs section as it seems you are going to have all sorts in here, which is great.

Onto the model, its nicely painted. Although clearly not finished, I think some highlighting on the boots and leather work, followed by a wash would help. To highlight, take a small brush and use a colour that is the same shade, but a lighter tone than the one already used on the leather. Easy way to do this is to perhaps mix a little white into the colour you used before on a white tile or something, then just use a thin brush and apply the lighter colour to the raised areas, so the edges of the strapping, tops of the feet, raised folds etc. Then take Devlan Mud and wash the leather with this. Voila, highlights and shading done! Hope that helps mate.

And I'm not certain as the camera can be deceptive but looking to the helmet horn on HIS right, it looks like a prominant piece of flash. Sill easy to trim if it is.

...yes flash. As I said I'm still working all of this out lol

So I went out and had a birthday. I was able to get ahold of a Space Marines Commander box. So that's going to be the first thing I work on right now

Of course my first step was....cleaning off mold lines and flash (see I learn)

However cleaning that crap is hell on the eyes. So I will start to prime tomorrow.. I haven't gotten my bases from Secret weapon yet either so I'm going to use some mounting putty to have the model standing on something, giving me less chance of smudging something. I decided not to use any of the arms in the set for the right arm. Instead I'm going to be using an arm from a metal model with the BA pad on top. Hopefully this turns out the way I want.
