Shredder - Pts: 130 WS: 5 BS: 2 S: 5 T: 4 W: 2 I: 8 A: - Ld: 10 Sv: 3/6+ Unit Size: 1 (Unique) Unit Type: Infantry Weapons and Equipment: Power Armour, Chainsaws, Lots of Chainsaws Special Rules: Fleet, Hit and Run, Rage, Into the Thick of It: Shredder always begins the game in reserve, even if the mission being played doesn’t use reserves. When he becomes available from reserve, he is placed using the Deep Strike rules. Need More Victims: In his movement phase, Shredder may opt to redeploy via Deep Strike instead of moving. Need to Kill: Shredder cannot bear to go for any length of time without killing something, and as a consequence, his rage can often build to extreme levels. Each time you fail a reserve roll to bring Shredder into your game, increase his base Strength by 1. Wall of Blades: Shredder is a whirling maelstrom of chainsaws and as a result is completely unpredictable and truly terrifying. Shredder receives a 6+ Invulnerable Save and reduces the leadership of all enemy models within 12” by 1. Chainsaws Everywhere: The unpredictability of Shredder and his lethal host of Chainsaws means that very well anyone could end up becoming his victim. Shredder does not have a set number of attacks, instead he rolls 2D6 to determine his attacks at the start of each round of combat. If he is in combat with a single model, he will instead roll just D3 for his attacks. If any friendly models are involved in the same combat as Shredder, he will make an additional D6 attacks against them as well. Hungering Blades: The chainsaws of Shredder have been soaked in the blood of almost every imaginable race, including the blood of daemons, as such they have gained a certain sentience, and thirst constantly for blood, willing themselves towards it mercilessly. Shredder’s attacks have the Rending Special Rule. Whirling Dervish: Shredder makes no attempt to aim his attacks or identify exactly what his target is. As such Shredder may never score better then a Glancing Hit against vehicles, and any Penetrating Hits instantly become Glancing Hits instead. He does however make D6 attacks against all vehicles, rather then the usual D3. ________________________________________________________________ Would like to hear what you guys think of him Some of his rules are a little overpowered, but I tried to counter that by making him a lot less resilient as well. Also, if anyone has a good suggestion for a Points value, that'd be great If all goes well I'll be modelling/painting him in my log too ![]() also... might need a better name... so as not to get peoples hopes up for a different Shredder ![]() Edit: Edited to include points cost and change up some rules based on helpful suggestions from Liquid-Joshi Edited by Merceus, 15 Aug 2011, 05:26 PM.

The Chainsaws everywhere rule seems a little OP'd... My 30 man blob squad of guardsmen is going to feel the hurt when he hits the table. The Power weapos seems a little OP'd too. I'd suggest making it D6 or 2D6 random attacks, and Rending for balance. What exactly is it based off? Anyway, points wise, I'd say 150 with your rules, he's just short of Kharn on the kill power, maybe 130 with the above suggestions instead. Edited by Liquid-Joshi, 15 Aug 2011, 05:09 PM.

thanks I'll make it D6 against single models, and 2D6 when he's against multiple models. That sound fair? And an additional D6 against friendly models if they're involved in the combat too ![]() Rending also sounds like a better idea XD cheers He was inspired by the Splatterhouse Boss Biggy Man, which is also why he can teleport around as well. It was for a fear based Chaos Marine army I'm working on, but in the end he became far more killy then scary, so I made him a generic special character instead

Sounds great, glad I could help. Perhaps a viable alternative for Kharn the Muppet? Gonna do a conversion or anything for him? |

hehe indeed and should hopefully be doing a conversion soon... need to pick up some more Khorne Berserkers for my Chaos Marines anyway at some point. Sure I can spare one to do some converting
