Hey guys, I've been looking at fantasy again with all the shiny stuff coming out and so I thought about doing an empire army and doing some background for them etc. but anyway. the army list. Arch Lector @ 196 - Additional Warhammer - AoMI - Sword of Strife Wizard @ 125 - Level 2 upgrade - Luck Stone Captain @ 85 -BsB - Plate Armour + shield 30 Swordsmen @205 - Full Command 30 Swordsmen @205 - - Full Command 15 Handgunners @120 15 Handgunners @120 15 Handgunners @120 15 Handgunners @120 Great Canon @ 100 Great Canon @ 100 1495 Okay now I have to admit. I dont own an empire book and put this toghether with points costs from several other empire army lists on the web so the numbers might not be exact. but any help will be greatly appreciated. looks like a reasonable list (not that i know much about empire, with what i did know not being valid any more under 8th ed), but I would split one of the units of handgunners into 3 and merge them with the other units to give 3 units of 20. partly because 15 is bloody difficult to get into a nice evenly ranked unit, where as with 20 you can have 2 ranks of 10 rather than an 8 and a 7. I'd also think about dropping the second cannon and finding the extra points for a hellblaster, since they are fun, and if your opponent is avoiding one cannon, then chances are they are good enough to avoid both of them, yet with the hellblaster if they want to get in close enough to kill your handgunners, they have to face the nice randomly determined amount of reasonably high strength armour piercing rounds along with whatever the handgunners put out |

I don't game much, but I've been playing around with lists lately. II'd definitely try out switching out one of the units of handgunners, and adding marksmen and long rifles to the others with these points: being able to snipe characters, wizards, unit champions etc can be dead handy, you need 2+ to make sure you can do some damage but this'd work here. Easy conversions from handguns with some plastic rod too. |
