Been a while but then, I've been busy. I now have another 12 days until I embark on my dissertation and thought I'd post an update on the kriegs.

In the past week I've painted a squadron commander, banner bearer and plasma gunner.

The pictures aren't great but I took them with flash this evening so I may try and do it in daylight tomorrow. Washed out all the nice bits, particularly the banner, bases and some of the gold work. I need to decide what to paint on the banner, ideas are welcome!

Anyway, enjoy.

{EDIT - better pictures found below}.

Good to see you painting!

Good stuff Steve - particularly like the simple but menacing gren on the plasma gun.

Cheers Digits.

Nevermind Lukas, see what tomorrow brings..

Looking over the pictures, they are washed out pretty badly, I'll take some nicer ones tomorrow. Must admit the banner bearer is probably the best one.
May also build a mortar team or two tomorrow.

Cool Krieg. I especially like the unit-shields on the helmets, how did you make them? Paint or decal?

Truck me its Steve! Good to see youv'e not completely succumbed to the way of the beer and breast!

Krieg looking as good as they always are with you mate. How about some kind of company number and icon on the banner or if its a platoon command, platoon ID and some battle honours?

Still don't look good really. Not sure why. They actually look ok in real life.

The helmet shield thing is freehanded. It's quite easy if you build up from thin coats of yellow.
Thanks gents.

BTW - can Krieg have 5 man stormtrooper squads? And what are the rules with the Stubber in the squad?

HE LIVES!

Looking good Steve, they have a nice "historical" desaturated look to them, like they walked out of a photo.

I thought you were dead. Nice to see you back.

Stuff looks lovely pics wise as far as quality goes but could the pics be bigger? I feel I'm missing out on a lot.

Still, welcome back Steve, really nice to see stuff from you.

Five squad-members is a go. I think you can still download the army list from FWs homepage, otherwise shoot me a pm and I'll hook you up.

Thanks everyone. Here's a cheeky update.

Done a FW order night before last - Rictus convinced me to purchase a Hades drill aswell as: Engineer squad (love them models), mole launcher, heavy mortar and crew and then the stormtrooper with melta and stubber for a little idea I had regarding spare crew left over from a grenadier centaur. (Stormtroopers at ease? Oh yes).

Here's a model I bought from Digits at GD 200(7?). Dug it out recently and just finished painting it. Pictures are a bit better, taking Rick's hint here are larger pictures also.

Note the lava base... Also, bear in mind I've not properly painted in months, and I've never ever painted a Chaos model. So, not sure how much it fits in, though I thought the hazard stripes were justified ;) .

Lovely work mate. I will be honest and say that at the moment his feet look a little "bling". I get that you have tried to give the metal a bronze look but its a bit bright at the moment. Perhaps even some pigment work to add some dirt to the toes would help to tone down the bronze which looks almost gold at the mo and its a little distracting from the rest of the model.

Armour needs to get dulled down, everything else is nice though.
