Father Zarkov Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe) Status: ACTIVE Divination: "Only in death does duty end."
Physical Description Age: 58 Tall and brawny, but with an expansive waistline brought on by recent excesses. Bald with a long grey beard and a face covered in scars. Both arms show burn scaring from the hands the the elbows due to excessive burning of heretic combatants.
Personality -
Prior Life Rank/Position: Ministorum Preacher (Attached to Brimlock IV Dragoons) Zarkov speaks little of his early life, having once said, "what was before is nothing, going forward there is only the God-Emperor." Around the age of 40, he was inducted into the Imperial Guard as a Preacher for the Brimlock IV Dragoons. He served alongside the Dragoons for many campaigns until he was dismissed under claims of "drunkenness in the line of duty." He was spared the executioner's touch after the Commissariat received a request from the Ordo Hereticus that he be transferred to the world of Hyades for a new assignment.

Weaponry
- Warhammer
A solid lump of blessed steel on a 4ft half, this battered hammer has been at Zarkov's side for the last 30 years. Such is his skill with the weapon is is able to fight with it in either one or two hands without problems.
- Laspistol
(30/30) (+30/30) (+30/30) Kantrael-pattern. This laspistol was Zarkov's standard-issue sidearm during his tenure in the Imperial Guard. Like most of his equipment, it is worn with age and use, but it is expertly maintained.
- Hand Flamer
(4/4) (+4/4) (+4/4) A terrifying and indiscriminate weapon ideal for attacking enemies in cover, or in the close confines of personal combat, where its very short range and poor accuracy is not an issue. The Hand Flamer suits Zarkov's favoured method of purifying heretics.
- Boot-Knife
A handy backup in dire situations. Clothing
- Ecclesiarchal Robes
Dark brown, heavy cloth robes with a red hood.
- Flak Vest
A flak armour vest typical of those given to the Imperial Guard. Comprises of several layers of ablative and impact-absorbent material. Equipment

(4) Red Candles
- Holy Tome
A book of common prayers, issued to Preachers assigned to the Brimlock regiments of the Imperial Guard. Chained to Zarkov's waist for easy access, though he could recite the contents from memory.
- Rotgut Booze
Kept within his hip-flask, this is a constant reminder of Zarkov's vice. Finances 0 Thrones
Mementos
- A battered and dented hipflask, bearing the badge of an Imperial Guard regiment and inscribed with the initials "ED".
Given to Zarkov by Enoch Drake, a sgt with the Brimlock 4th, also the first man Zarkov performed the last rites for while in service of the Imperial Guard. While performing the rite, Drake passed the flask to the Priest, telling him to keep it for special occasions. The flask was emptied within scant minutes of his death by the now trembling Zarkov.
- A bag of sanctified salt.
Said to contain salt from one of the seas of Holy Terra, Zarkov recovered the small pouch from a reliquary while cleansing a heretic held temple on an unknown world.

Artemis Stroud Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe) Status: ACTIVE Divination: "The wise man learns from the deaths of others."
Physical Description Age: 34 Stroud is tall; though well-built, he is quite thin, with blue eyes and pale skin. Always clean shaven, he keeps his hair short out of preference rather than due to any vanity and is not typically prone to flamboyant appearances.
Personality - ("He believes the true Arbite can have no friends.")
Prior Life Rank/Position: Precinct Commander (Meggdon Prime), Adeptus Arbites Born on the planet of Marovia, Stroud was inducted into the Schola Progenium after the death of his parents in service to the Emperor. There, the harsh life of the Schola forged in Stroud his most crucial weapon - the iron-hard will that has sustained him throughout his life. The Drill-Abbots saw the potential within the young boy and earmarked him as a candidate for the Adeptus Arbites. Stroud served with exemplary diligence and after three years as a junior, he was posted to command a down-hive precinct on the world of Meggdon Prime. He was recognised as a well-educated, inscisive man with both a keen ability to make connections between disaparate points and an excellent sense of character.
On Meggdon Prime, Stroud came to resent the way in which the nobility exploited the down-hivers and broke the Emperor's laws casually - if not contemptuously. Stroud's politically meddlesome investigations led to the fall of three noble houses. Despite being warned to back down, he continued his crusade, culminating in a raid on an unlicensed brothel frequented by the rich sons and daughters of the noble houses. The raid resulted in the deaths of two Arbitrators and four nobles. By the end of the day, another eight had been sentenced to hang. As a 'reward' for his efforts, Stroud was reassigned to the backwater agri-world of Loftus VI, where it was thought he could do no further harm. However, the vessel took him to Hyades, where he was inducted into Septimus Cell.

Weaponry
- Adeptus Arbites Combat Shotgun
(18/18) (+36) (+8 'Executioner' Rounds) An automatic shotgun, fed from a drum magazine. Possesses incredible short-ranged destructive power and a distinctively intimidating racket when fired.
- Tannhauser-9 Heavy Pistol
(12/12) (+12/12) This bulky and intimidating high-capacity pistol is an enviable example of robust and utilitarian design. Fantastically reliable, the Tannhauser will fire true after almost any amount of abuse and mistreatment. This fact is not lost on enforcers, household troops and mercenaries throughout the Dalthus Sector, many of whom will take a "Tann-Nine" as their sidearm. The weapon is tooled and balanced to exact tolerances, making it quite contrallable despite its large calibre for a stub automatic. Despite its size, its excellent design makes it an "easy carry" from shoulder rigs and quick-draw holsters.
- Shock Maul
A signature weapon of the Adeptus Arbites and Enforcers. Capable of delivering an incapacitating electrical shock, the Maul can also be a deadly combat weapon.
- Knife
- Clothing
- Arbitrator's Uniform
An imposing suit of light articulated carapace armour made of densely layered plates of armaplas. The suit is fully enclosed and features a comm-bead, respirator and flash-reactive eyepieces built into the helm.
- Armoured Bodyglove
A form-fitted suit made up of flexible mesh fibre material that tenses when struck to disperse the impact. Additionally, the suit is reinforced with a micro-scale insert of hardened ceramic lamellar plating over vital areas. Wearable under other loose or specially-tailored clothing, the bodyglove is a common choice for bodyguards or anyone who wishes to protect themselves without an overt show of doing so.
- Flak Vest
A flak armour vest typical of those given to the Imperial Guard. Comprises of several layers of ablative and impact-absorbent material.
Equipment
- Micro-Bead
A short-range communications device worn in the ear; typically, a micro-bead will have a range of about a kilometre.
- Injector
[Stimm] [Stimm] [Stimm] A sophisticated hypospray device, which administers a dose of a drug through the skin. Each dose must be loaded into the injector. Stimm is a powerful drug that works to mask pain and drive fighters on when their bodies would otherwise give up.
- Arbitrator ID
A golden badge proclaiming Stroud's membership of the Adeptus Arbites.
- Manacles
A pair of solid metal restraints.
- Chronometer
A timepiece worn on the wrist.
- Pack of Lho-Sticks
(20/20) A pack of twenty rolled paper tubes, containing a scented, mildly narcotic (and addictive) plant-derived substance, which is lit and the resulting smoke inhaled through the tube.
- Glow-Globe
A source of illumination in the darkness. Can provide light for a few hours before being recharged.
Finances 0 Thrones
Mementos
- A regicide piece, carved from bone (and appearing to have slight traces of blood on it)
The regicide piece is a souvenir from Stroud's first murder scene. It also marks his first time running afoul of Meggdon Prime's noble houses, as the blood on the piece identified the murderer as the spoilt son of a high-hive trader, who amused himself by slaughtering low-born hivers. Artemis had him swiftly arrested and he was eventually executed. He keeps it with him as a reminder that no one is above the Emperor’s law.

Lukas Finn Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe) Status: ACTIVE Divination: "Even a man who has nothing may still offer his life."
Physical Description Age: 27 Lukas stands at an average height and build for an ex-hive ganger. This means he is a little short and wiry, bred to survive in the underhive. His skin is slightly pale; his hair dark, kept somewhat short and scruffy. His eyes are a brown colour with a splash of green. He has a tattoo of his former gang on his upper right arm; a clenched metal fist wrapped in barbed wire.
Personality -
Prior Life Rank/Position: Ganger, "Sons of Agony" Lukas was born in the underhives of Hive Praxis, on the planet of Hyades. He grew up with his mother; his father died in an industrial accident when Lukas was young. When his mother fell ill, Lukas was forced to work to pay for medicine. He quickly found that running with the local gang-blades was far more lucrative. When his mother died, Lukas had nothing else to live for, so he stayed with the gang, participating in petty feuds with rival gangers. Lukas was arrested whilst setting up an explosive ambush designed to wipe out another gang.
Inquisitorial Service -
Weaponry
- Autogun
(30/30) (+30/30) (+30/30) Known locally in the underhives of Praxis as a "zip gun" or "chopper", this autogun is typical of gang weapons in that it is purposely designed to be as cheap as possible to manufacture and maintain. The weapon itself is made from industrial spares and crude pressed-metal parts. It fires medium-calibre solid slugs from a thirty-round magazine and can stand a phenomenal amount of abuse yet keep firing. It is loud, lethal and uncomplicated, and thus common amongst hive gangers due to the ready availability of ammunition.
- Stub Automatic
(15/15) (+15/15) A simple, cheaply-produced pistol with a fifteen-round magazine.
- Stub Revolver
(6/6) (+6/6) A stub revolver given to Lukas by a man named Sykes. A "star buy", the revolver is an ideal backup weapon due to its reliability.
- Brass Knuckles
A pair of heavy brass knuckles. They are heavily scuffed, indicating they have been used for their desired purpose.
- Knife
A normal knife. Lukas keeps it down the side of his boot, for emergencies.
- Frag Grenade
(1) A standard-issue Imperial Guard Frag Grenade.
Clothing
- Common Quality Clothing

- Flak Vest
A flak armour vest typical of those given to the Imperial Guard. Comprises of several layers of ablative and impact-absorbent material.

- Pack of Lho-Sticks
(12/20) A pack of twenty rolled paper tubes, containing a scented, mildly narcotic (and addictive) plant-derived substance, which is lit and the resulting smoke inhaled through the tube.
- Lighter
A battered silver lighter.
- Backpack
A cloth backpack, used for carrying things.
- Flask of "Rotgut"
A battered hipflask of vile alcohol, brewed during his time with the Sons of Agony.
Finances 0 Thrones
Mementos
- A matchbox bearing the symbol of "The Hanged Man"
The matchbox bears little sentimental value to Lukas other than "The Hanged Man" was a favourite haunt of his former gang
- A used shotgun shell
This was used in part of Lukas' initiation to the "Sons of Agony". Another member of the gang was a mole, working for a rival gang. He was bound and brought infront of Lukas and the "Sons of Agony" gang leader. Lukas was handed a shotgun and ordered to kill the traitor. He did so, finalising his initiation into the Sons.
- A slightly bent coin
The coin bears the stamped mark of the "Sons of Agony" on one side and the words "The Emperor Protects" scratched into the reverse side.
- A pair of loaded dice
The pair of dice bear no sentimental value to Lukas. They are simply helpful for aquiring a few extra thrones when in the gambling dens.

Scribe Astelan Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe) Status: ACTIVE Divination: "A mind without purpose will wander in dark places."
Physical Description Age: 42 Astelan is bent of back and short of stature. He has a long lean face, and an unhealthy, pale, gaunt look about him. He is clearly balding at the top, but what hair left to him is dark, greasy, lanky and unkept. A bar code has been branded into his forehead. His left hand has been encased into a crude, semi-bionic writing device that extends in a visible exo-skeleton up through the shoulder. He has not removed the devise in 15 years.
Personality -
Prior Life Rank/Position: Hereditary Scribe (Section VII, Sub-Section XII, Cube XLII, Seat XV-A), Hyadean Administrative Data-Hive Astelan was a proud and diligent member of a guild of Hereditary Scribes deep within the bowels of the Hyadean Administrative Data-Hive. His life was one of duty; he did not imagine that there was a world outside the confines of his daily routines. Instead, he was content to busy himself with his role and his purpose. At the age of 41, after over 25 years serving in the Inscription unit, Astelan illuminated a text that was never meant for his eyes to see. The text has since vanished, and Astealn was offered a simple choice, death or service in the Inquisition. Astelan lived to serve. In exchange, the scribe was made mute, so the secrets he records will might never pass his lips.

- A symbol of St. Oliander on a silver chain
A hereditary scribe's life is very proscribed. One cannot simply do what one wishes. You are a slave to the bureaucracy, and this vast labyrinth determines when you sleep, what you eat, where you say prayers, and who you pair with. Once, when he was young and foolish; Astelan tried to break these proscribed routines. His small rebellion was an unregistered, undocumented, and unapproved relationship with a fellow scribe of Section 8. It was quickly discovered and squashed. Astelan has only two reminders of those ancient days of rebellion, this small trinket and the permanent reprimand in his personnel file. St. Oliander is the patron saint of lost causes.

Flag Lieutenant Lemuel Hinds Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe) Status: ACTIVE Divination: "In the darkness, follow the light of Terra."
Physical Description Age: 34 Physical Description: 5'8", heavily built. Not fat and not overtly muscled, Lemuel is stocky, moderately strong and physically fit. He keeps his blond hair cropped close. He looks young for 34 years of age, however a large scar running down his left tricep and a refined bionic right arm indicate he has seen his fair share of combat. This bionic arm is clearly something only a nobleman can afford, given its smoothed polished ceramite curves, almost silent movement and complete articulation.
Personality -
Prior Life Rank/Position: Flag Lieutenant, Forward Lance Deck, Stratus Scapula (Dauntless Class, Battlefleet Dalthus), The Glorious Imperial Navy A scion of a minor house on the planet Arterax IV, Lemuel entered the Navy Academy aged 18, graduating at 22 and entering service on the Stratus Scapula, a dauntless light cruiser of the sector’s battlefleet. Initially given command of a macro-cannon deck in the port weapons battery, Lemuel served with distinction for four years, his gun deck repeatedly being the quickest and most efficient at battle drills. Six years into his service Stratus Scapula was posted to the sector border to combat aggressive ork pirate raids. In one of the first engagements of the tour the Imperius was rammed by a brute ramship, and consequently boarded. As they had trained for, Lemuel’s deck attempted to repel the orks, however they where nearly overwhelmed. Retreating to the aftmost gun of the deck, named Adamant, the remaining ten survivors held a last stand on the loading deck. All were slaughtered except Lemuel, who continued to fight on, eventually losing an arm. Fighting now on pure adrenalin, Lemuel cauterised the stump against the red hot breach of the macro cannon and continued to fight, emptying his deck gun, drawing his chainsword and slaying the remaining orks.
Lemuel was found when the ship was clear, surrounded by dismembered orks, chainsword still in hand. Given the lack of experienced officers left alive, Lemuel was promoted directly to Flag Lieutenant and given command of the forward lance batteries, the most powerful weapon systems on the ship. Four years later he caught wind of a heretical cult amongst the lower ranks as it began to boil over in attempted mutiny. At a meeting of the senior crew at the time, Hinds reacted quickly, charging the armed cultists with a knife. In the brutal melee that ensued most of the senior crew were killed, however the mutiny was quelled. Noted in dispatches for his valiant defence of the crew, Hinds was praised by the remainder of the ships complement for his actions, and expected a hero's welcome on return to Hyades port for refit and recrewing. That was not to be, for the Inquisition had taken note of his actions aboard his ship.
Inquisitorial Service -
Weaponry
- Deck Gun
(8/8) (+25/25) A standard-issue Imperial Navy armament to commissioned officers of Battlefleet Dalthus, the Deck Gun has a fearsome reputation. Fed from an eight round internal magazine, the Deck Gun is a selective fire automatic/semiautomatic shotgun, capable of firing any of the ammunition types available to Imperial-issue shotguns. When set on automatic the cyclic rate of fire is 150 rounds per minute, meaning the magazine is emptied in just over three seconds.
- Master-Crafted Laspistol
(30/30) (+30/30) A finely-made laspistol, this weapon has the appearance of an heirloom. Its finely-wrought casing is inscribed with ornate carvings and golden filigree.
- Hold-out "Salvation" Pistol
(5/5) Stored within a compartment in Hinds' bionic arm, the "Salvation" is an extremely compact handgun, designed as a personal defence item for merchant, adepts and affluent citizens untrained in weapons. The pistol is entirely self-contained and very easy to use. Intended only for use in emergencies, the "Salvation" has an internal five-shot magazine that cannot actually be reloaded without partly dismantling the pistol first, giving it a reputation as little more than a "disposable toy." However, in the right hands it can be exceptionally lethal.
- Light Chainsword
Carried in a scabbard, this one handed chainsword is a family heirloom. Lightweight and slender, when sheathed the sword is almost compact enough to resemble a heavy short sword. Fitted with mica-dragon teeth and ornate gold scrollwork, the weapon is a valuable antique that remains just as deadly as it once was.
- Knife
Carried in an ankle holster on his left boot, this is a weapon of last resorts that has seen use in the past.
Clothing
- Imperial Navy Working Dress
A standard issue officers uniform for combat duty, the uniform is dark gray and imposing, with wide cut lapels and a high stiff collar.
- Imperial Navy Dress Uniform
The dress uniform for Battlefleet Dalthus. Includes gloves, a holster for pistol and a scabbard for sword. Also dark grey, features many of Hinds' medals and decorations.
- Flak Vest
A bloody, well used but still serviceable Flak Vest. Normally worn over the top of his working uniform, the flak vest can if necessary be concealed beneath Lemuel's uniform
Equipment
- Bionic Arm (Right)
Clearly not a standard issue bionic arm, the arm functions as well as a normal human arm, although it is capable of providing superhuman strength for short amounts of time. Finished in a pure white ceramite, the arm contains two hidden compartments capable of storing a holdout pistol or medikit.
- Micro-Bead
A short-range communications device worn in the ear; typically, a micro-bead will have a range of about a kilometre.
- Medi-Kit
[STIMM] [STIMM] A standard issue medkit concealed in one of the arm's compartments. Contains various cataplasm patches, contraseptics and synth-skin. Also contains two doses of stimm.
- Weapons Maintenance Kit
A small lightweight kit containing all the tools necessary for the maintenance and cleaning of the deck gun and the chainsword. Many of these tools have other uses too...
- Hip Flask of Amasec
One of Hinds' few vices is a sip of Amasec.
- Bandolier
Fitted to this family heirloom is a scabbard for the chainsword, a pouch for a sidearm magazine and enough loops and pouches to carry 25 rounds for the deck gun.
Finances 0 Thrones
Mementos
- A brass nameplate, about 5cm long. It bears the name "ADAMANT"
Torn from the macrocannon upon which Hinds made his desperate last stand against the Orks, the plate still bears scratches and dried blood from that day. A loop of fine chain runs through one of the screw holes in the plate, and Hinds wears it around his neck.

Brother Majster Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe) Status: ACTIVE Divination: "Men must die so that Man endures."
Physical Description Age: 36 | Height: 190cm | Weight: 120kg Majster is an imposing figure, in many ways the typical Tech-Priest. He is usually seen wearing the hooded red robe of the Adeptus Mechanicus. What can be seen of his face is dominated by his bionic eye. His skin is pale, his head shaven to allow easy access to the various augmentic ports that stud his scalp.
Personality As a citizen of Mutara, Majster was brought up to venerate the spirits of the machine. Whilst knowing that the Emperor is his God and saviour, he views the Imperial Creed through the lens of Cult Mechanicus doctrine, and as a result can be suprisingly ignorant of the common teachings and practices of the Ecclesiarchy. His lack of understanding has left him somewhat distant from the other members of the Cell.
Prior Life Rank: Tech-Priest, Adeptus Mechanicus (Mutaran Demesne) Majster was born to a middle-ranking family in the very shadow of the Omnissiah, on the forgeworld of Mutara. From birth, as with all children in the Mutaran Demesne, Majster was tested, channelled and cofidied so that his masters might find his place in the great pattern. Weakness in body or in mind was simply not tolerated, and failure was met with painful incentives to do better. It was an unforgiving process that has prepared him well for life in a harsh and uncaring universe.
It was decided that Majster would best aid the great pattern if he were to join the Tech-Priesthood itself. This was a great honour, and also a mighty challenge; to prosper on Mutara, an adept of the Machine-God must possess a great deal of drive, ambition and good fortune.
Majster rose to prominence after wiping out a cult on Mutara who had professed the beliefs of the hated Vinculists. This drew the attention of his masters, who arranged for him to be assigned to the Ordo Hereticus for a period of time, that he might broaden his horizons and gain great knowledge for Mutara. Majster has faith in his destiny and his ability to overcome whatever is set against him: It is written that the weak perish, and the superior survive.

Weaponry
- "Brightstar" Laspistol
(12/12) (+12/12) (+12/12) Produced to exacting standards by the enigmatic Cult Mechanicus sects of Mutara, the 'Brightstar' is an extremely sophisticated laspistol designed to operate at a much higher power threshold. The high-energy fire of the 'Brightstar' is considerably stronger than a normal laspistol discharge, can easily burn through armour. The weapon's power hungry nature, however, means that it quickly depletes charge-cells.
The high-grade materials needed to construct such a weapon mean that its cost is significantly higher than more commonplace laspistols. Such weapons are rarely seen outside of the Mutaran Demesne.
- Staff
A 2 metre-long metal staff, which can unscrew to create two smaller ones.
- Knife
- Clothing
- Mechanicus Robes and Vestments
These crimson robes are, for many people, the defining characteristic of a Tech-Priest.
- Flak Vest
A flak armour vest typical of those given to the Imperial Guard. Comprises of several layers of ablative and impact-absorbent material. Worn under Majster's robes and vestments. Bionic Enhancements
- Bionic Eye
The bionic fitted to Majster's right eye is a sophisticated device, owing to his rank within the Machine-cult. The bionic provides Majster with a number of different vision aids.
- Respirator Unit
This implant covers the lower half of Majster's face with a network of grilles and tubing. It purifies his air supply, and contains a vox-synthesiser capable of transmitting his voice in a variety of ways.
- Data-jack
One of Majster's fingertips has been replaced with a data-probe, a plug interface that is grafted into his nervous system and allows him to interface with machine data-ports and certain types of data-nets, communing with the machine-spirits.
- Cyber-Mantle
A framework of metal, wires and impulse transmitters bolted on to Majster's spine and lower rib-cage as a sub-dermal anchorage point, should he be granted further augmentative enhancements.
- Electoo Inductors
Whilst not as sophisticated as those belonging to the famed Electro-Priests, the palms of Majster's hands incorporate metal skin-grafts that appear much like tattoos. Wired into the nervous system, they derive power from the bio-electrical emanations of the flesh. Majster may use his electoo inductors to provide machinery with power from his own electrical field. This may be used to recharge relatively small items, such as glow-globes, lasgun charge-packs or even larger items, such as vehicle engines or cogitators. Whilst some technology is simply too arcane, broken or power-hungry to activate, it is a talent that can prove useful. Using the electoo inductors in this way can prove exceptionally draining, leaving Majster fatigued - or worse. Equipment
- Micro-Bead
A short-range communications device worn in the ear; typically, a micro-bead will have a range of about a kilometre.
- Combi-Tool
A versatile mechanical device which combines a myriad of tools into one package.
- Multi-Key
A device capable of opening most standard Imperial locks.
- Auspex
A device used to detect energy emissions, motion and biological life signs.
- Phial of Sacred Machine Oil
Machine Oil blessed by the Fabricators of Mutara, capable of soothing even the most tempestuous machine-spirits if applied properly. Finances 0 Thrones
Mementos
- A lump of dark sand, fused into glass.
Majster has seen many great and wondrous things. He has basked in the fire-glow of kilometre-wide molten metal crucibles, and been inducted into the lesser mysteries of arcane technologies. But all such experiences pale before the God-Machines of the Legio Lux. Early in his induction to the Priesthood, Majster was afforded the opportunity to see Mutara's Titan Legions on a training manoeuvre. The young Tech-Priest felt the ground shake with their footfalls, and his heart sang. To this day, he can remember that singular moment when he found sense in his life.
Majster took the opportunity to collect this misshapen lump of glass, formed of sand fused by the tremendous power of the Titans' weapons-batteries. It provides him with tangible proof of the Omnissiah's power, and a reminder of his goals.

Aridius Helbrec Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe) Status: ACTIVE Divination: "Ask not why you serve, only how."
Physical Description Age 53 Aridius is of average height and average weight with a thoroughly average face. His hair is a sandy colour shot through with grey and his eyes are a dull sky blue; his skin colour can only really be described "mixed", a blend of ancestral genetics has given him skin the colour of milky coffee.
Prior Life Position Hive noble and information broker Born into nobility on Alander IV, Aridius and his family lost everything when his father was framed and executed for serious financial crimes. Convinced of the power of information at the age of fourteen, Aridius sought to collect and trade in the secrets of others. Building up a vast network of contacts, clients and enemies over the years was far from easy, but Aridius had the strict determination and attitude of a child wronged by the authorities. Recently, Aridius came into possession of some information concerning the destruction of the Pride of Baal and the subsequent Lailth Expedition. Before anything could be done with it, he was arrested for illegal possession of data. Cornered, Aridius did the one thing he knew best. He cut a deal. . .
Inquisitorial Service
Weaponary
- Sword
An ornate, if servicable looking, sword with a half basket hilt and a long and slightly curved blade. It is clearly a noble weapon forged by a skilled atrizan, though the scraped hilt and worn blade tell that the sword is not merely for show.
- Stub Automatic
(14/14) (+40) (Silencer) An automatic pistol, as old as the man who carries it and repaired many times over the years. The weapon casing is of a standard, mass produced, quality though it has an ornate wood and brass grip and many of the internal workings have been replaced by parts of high quality.
- Knife
A short single edged knife with a serated lower portion, this blade is somewhat at odds with Aridius' other equipment. It is a brutal, efficient looking knife given to Aridius by one of the many lowborn hivers he has worked with over the years. The tip of the blade has been shattered into a jagged crown point, rendering it useless as a stabbing weapon.
- Knife
A double edged blade the length of a forearm, this weapon straddles the definition between knife and short sword making it effective in either role. The weapon is a single piece, integrated handle and blade, cast from transparent plasteel.
Clothing
- High Quality Clothing
A collection of interchangeable dark green jackets, with varying levels of silvered trim and buttons; the darker shaded jackets have black collars and cuffs, the lighter green jackets are faced in maroon. The numerous pairs of trousers are tight, of the riding variety, and are in shades of grey and cream. Multiple cream cotton shirts complete this wardrobe, as well as several pairs of black leather knee length boots and black leather gloves.
- Mesh Armoured Vest
An armoured vest made of a mesh fibre material that tenses when struck to disperse the impact. Thin enough to be worn under clothes without being noticed.
Equipment
- Micro-Bead
A short-range communications device worn in the ear; typically, a micro-bead will have a range of about a kilometre.
Mementos
- A simple iron key which bears the icon of a snake wrapped around a sword
The key, bearing an embossed sword with an intertwined snake, was left to Aridius by his estranged wife with a note written in a long lost dialect of high gothic which he has, thus far, failed to translate.
- Three quartzite marbles
The three marbles were a childhood gift from Aridius' father, part of a larger set that has been lost to the ravages of time and older schoolboys. The three marbles represent his family: one is in perfect condition, and seems to glow with a faint light, it represents his sister; the second is a little chipped and dulled from overuse, signifying Aridius' mother; the third has been split clean in two, the halves glued back together with the split around the middle plainly obvious, this is for his father.

Tellon Rand Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe) Status: ACTIVE Divination: "Be a boon to your brothers, and a bane to your enemies."
Physical Description Age 29 Hailing from the Agri world of Arphista, Rand is a tall 6'4" and was already strong before joining the guard due to extensive work on the nutri-farms. A decade as a guardsman has left its mark in more ways than one. He keeps his head shaved through practicality and his nose has obviously been broken multiple times and set not quite straight. Well-muscled, as could be expected of a guard veteran, he has a slight limp and a fresh looking scar along his skull above his right ear after being grazed with a las round.
Personality Rand left Arphista at the age of 19, full of swagger and ready to go on the one big adventure that is promised by the Imperial Guard. Over the years that swagger has left and been replaced by solid dependency and faith - partly in the God-Emperor, partly in his own skill with weapons in keeping him safe. Not one for intentionally thinking outside the box, he sees most things with a sarcasm common to a large number of guard veterans, who have seen horrors not usually seen by imperial citizens and dealt with them.
Prior Life Position: Private, Arphistan XIII Rand considers himself something of a heavy weapons expert, having fired most of the weapons available to his guard regiment, the Arphistan 13th in frenzied fighting on the battlefield, although he believes that not a lot compares to delivering the corpses of the enemy to the Emperor for judgement via multiple stubber rounds. No matter how many times his squad has been rebuilt after casualties, he remained completely dedicated to it, although was not considered to be 'right' for promotion at any point. Instead of being bitter at having been overlooked for any vacancies in senior positions, he is happy enough to be a part of the Emperor's plan.
Inquisitorial Service He came to the attention of the inquisition after one of Lady Amaranthe's agents requisitioned his platoon for a classified mission in the Borderworlds, of which only 3 people made it out; Rand, the agent, whom Rand had to half carry out due to his injuries and another trooper, who died shortly after from his injuries. Rand himself came out surprisingly unscathed, with the usual assortment of cuts and bruises alongside several las wounds to the lower left leg and a las burn just above his right ear that passes the length of his skull. After a couple of weeks in a medicae facility, he was offered the chance to serve the Emperor in another way, who was he to say no to the inquisition calling?
Weaponry
- Heavy Stubber
(200/200) (+200/200) A mainstay support weapon of the Arphistan regiments, the Heavy Stubber is ideal for fighting off large numbers of enemies. Usually fired in the same way as a normally-sized man might fire a lasgun, Rand’s strength and height make wielding the stubber without its bipod a viable option, instead having a sling to pass around his neck so he can move quickly to backup weapons without dropping and potentially damaging the stubber.
- Autopistol
(15/15)
- Autopistol
(15/15) Rand reasons that even his trusty stubber will fail at some point. Little is more dependable than a solidly-built autopistol. Even better? Two of them...
- Frag Grenade
(1) A standard-issue explosive charge common to the Imperial Guard war machine.
- Krak Grenade
(1) A powerfully-concentrated explosive designed to punch holes in armoured targets. Their focused explosion makes them impractical to use against people.
- Bayonet
The same one issued at the start of his guard career, Rand has spilt blood of greenskin and heretic alike with this blade, and whilst other more impressive melee weapons are about, none suit him as well as the simple bayonet blade. Dependable, uncomplicated and straight to the point.
Clothing
- Armoured Bodyglove
In the black and green of his former regiment. Rand sees this as a new chapter in his life, and as such has chosen to give up his carapace armour in favour of something that offers more mobility and more overall protection. He may be able to give up the uniform, but never the colours that formed him into who he is today, insisting on the black with dark green trim.
Equipment
- Micro-Bead
A short-range communications device worn in the ear; typically, a micro-bead will have a range of about a kilometre.
Mementos
- Dog-Tags
Rand will never put aside his tags from the regiment, as much a part of him as he was a part of the regiment.
- The Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer
Having made it through 10 years of battlezones, it has seen every action Rand has, and has come through it in exactly the same condition as him, slightly knocked about, no major damage.

Malia Quintill Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe) Status: ACTIVE Divination: "There is no substitute for zeal."
Physical Description Age: 18 Malia is very tall for a woman, standing at 1.83m. Her height, combined with a slender physique of lean muscle gives her a spider-like grace. Her skin is a pale, translucent white and her eyes are a deep gold shade. Her dark hair is kept braided up around the back of her head.
Personality Deeply suspicious, somewhat paranoid, Malia is the product of a youth spent within the close, dangerous confines of a barely life-sustaining starship, combined with years of training as a cold killer. Cautious, analytical, superstitious, she trusts herself and no others.
Prior Life Rank/Position: n/a Malia was born upon the Deodatus, a massive Chartist vessel lumbering its way across the sub-sector on an ancient trade route. Born into the indentured servant class, another generation of nameless and pointless grunt labor, the girl was selected for unspoken reasons and trained as a silent killer. In the darkest, forgotten holds of such vessels as she grew up on, there are nameless things which threaten the ship, and only hard steel can hold them back. In the depths of the Void, there are things which whisper in the minds of the weak, and a quiet blade cuts out the canker of heresy. Approximately six months ago, the Deodatus pulled into port and Malia disembarked with little more than her weapons on her back. She does not say why.

Armored bodyglove with full helmet.

A very ragged, somewhat dirty, long black cloak that nearly touches the floor when she wears it..
