Hello I'm wondering : can an Inquisitor still uses imperial guards or space marines ? I didn't find the option in the Codex downloadable on GW. If anyone knows of where I can find some rules about that, I'd really appreciate. Btw, .. if I understood well, a Vulture can take Imperial Navy upgrades but the Vendetta (or Valkyrie) can't ? Have I missed something ? Thanks by advance. |

They can 'technically' take allies, but it depends on which set or rules you have, hardcopy or PDF. Games workshop said that you could use whichever you had to hand, and that the PDF didnt overrule the hardcopy. not sure about the navy thing though.... |

Thanks. Back to the hardcopy for me then. Another question : is there any way of equipping veteran squads that are better than others ? I was thinking of one squad with 3 melta and one demo charge but I'm wondering if that's not a bit too much overkill. |

Keep in mind that they are still humans. They can have many weapons, but they still die very easily. I wouldn't give them that much special weapons. You have grey knights for the special equipment. For those allies: you can use one of the two, but not both together in one force. |

meltas is overkill and leaves them a one trick pony. I tool my vet squads with 2 meltas and one heavy flamer. Gives them options then. |

Thanks. Another silly question : what's the best weapon for an infantry squad ? I guess meltagun and BS3 is not the best choice but what of the grenade launcher ? (sorry if that's really silly but last time I played IG was during..3rd edition .. too long )

Infantry platoons with Mortar and Grenade Launcher are a smart choice, or heavy bolters for that matter. leave the Lascannon or Autocannon to Heavy Weapons Platoons, or a 3 mortar team for maximum template carnage. |

Plasmaguns are always a good option though for that ridiculous amounts of marine killing fun |

very true, if you combine the 5 infantry platoons into a single unit, so you can have 5 of them fire as a batch
