Hi guys. I've decided that I'd like a fast, assaulty army that's easy to transport. Naturally, that means BA. I've made this list after reading a bit up on tacticas in diverse places on the net, but I'm not entirely sure, and for once I'd like to have a plan for what I'm building. I'd like to avoid vehicles, except maybe a dread or two. Here's what I've got so far: HQ: Librarian: Epistolary Plasma/Infernus Jumppack Total:190 pts. Elites: 2 Sanguinary Priests, 2 jumppacks Total: 150 pts. Troops: Assault Squad: + 5 marines 2 meltas Inferno Pistol, sgt Powerfist Total:250 pts. Assault Squad: + 5 marines 2 meltas Inferno Pistol, sgt Powerfist: Total:250 pts. That comes to a grand total of 840 points, unless I've missed something. I'm considering adding a Vanguard squad to accompany the libby, but I'm not sure. I'd have to either expand to 1250 to do that, or drop something somewhere, so maybe a dread with autocannons is the best choice. The plan is to deepstrike most of the stuff, pop some tanks with the meltas, and focus the libby on something nasty that he can hit with Smite, then assault with Sword Of Sanguinus. Any help or comments would be much appreciated. I'm going for semi-competitive. Edited by AWOL, 18 Aug 2010, 07:48 AM.

To be honest I think you should take advantage of the Reclusiarch chaplins and add one each to the assault squads with a priest in each, thats feel no pain and re-rolling hits on a charge, practically a cheap death company. And remember you can take a Furioso librarian for 175 (15 points cheaper) give it wings of sanguinus and bloodlance with a force weapon and you're sorted. Oh and before you get told off, you need to edit the list so only the unit totals are showing, showing the price for individual upgrades is a breach of GW copyright and apparently can get our dear ammobunker in twubble. o.O |

Cheers for the tips Roesor. I've edited to remove all individual points, I dunno how I didn't think of that. The two chaplains in the squads sounds like a pretty damn good idea, I like the thought of making mincemeat of stuff like that. I'll keep it in mind.

Mnnn, it looks very small to me AWOL, but that is probably the point. -Maybe you should add a small squad with bolters to catch objectives? -Also a dreadnought with autocannons is a good idea. You can use him to give some covering fire while you advance with your troops. -And if you want to keep it with the infantry theme, some devastators are always nice instead of the dread. |
