I'm starting ogres for the new rules and I was hoping fir some advice on the following list Lords and heroes: bruiser with ironfist and handguns with big name death cheater Core 6 ogre bulls 4 ironguts 24 gnoblar fighters Special 4 leadbelchers Rare Maneater with longsword Any advice would be great. I'm annoyed that with the percentages thing I can't fit in a butcher at 1000pts |

*pulls out Ogre Army Book* small points arent kind to Ogres, but you have a good variety of units. The only thing I would be tempted to change is to remove the Maneater and replace him with a Gorger. One less body on the field from the start shouldnt be too much of a problem and it gives you an ace in the hole as well as freeing some points up to make the gnoblar unit bigger (try and push it to 30 to make the most of the new horde rules) Deathcheater on the Bruiser looks good, but i cant help feeling he needs some more of a save than he already has because if you get a unit of handgunners shooting at him, he is going down pretty quickly. Hope that helps you

As an ogre player me personally i would take the bruiser with a cathayan longsword and a wydstone necklace, take the gnoblars and take the 6 bulls into a unit of 3 so you would be able to have 2 units of 4 ironguts and if possible take yhettes as the special instead of the leadbelchers but thats just my opinion matey hope it helped

Thanks- my list was mainly based on the battalion contents. I am part of a campaign in my club where we add 300pts each month- basically a local version of the tale of X gamers on here. Thanks for all your advice- I had equipped the bruiser with those weapons because I had only seen the model where he has the ironfist and I wanted to keep the rules as close to the model as possible. Are there Different bruiser models? The ironguts is a good idea becuase with initiative 2 its going to make little difference with the new rules having great weapons. Again, thanks for all your help everyone and i'll certainly try out most of the advice. |

There arent that many models for the brusier but for mine what i did was get the Ninja Maneater model and replaced one of his hands with a plastic ironfist one so it is the same as what my brusier has got very easy to do and alot cheaper aswell i can send you a pic of what mine looks like if you like
