Seems fine, working on my own fairly soon actually, I'm just having trouble deciding which way to go with it....

I wanted something fast and aggressive so, lots of jumppacks were a natural for me.

I had to have the Sanginour in mine to, he's just...epic. Although I'm considering having Seth as my second HQ because he's cheap and has some awsome close combat special rules. My main problem is my death company, I oly get to play 1500 armies and quite simply they ae freakin expensive. I decided against Sanguinary guard. Because quite frankly, I think they suck. 2+ saves, yay..no inv's...oh O.o and the Glaive's just arn't that great, at first I figured they'd be like relic blades but losing my CCW attack just to gain a re-roll seems a bit counter effective, i decided I'd have hounor guard attached to my Sanguinor instead with Storm shields, worse armour yes, but hopefuly last longer against characters and daemon armies.

I think that Sanguinary Guard is underestimated. A 2+ save is nothing to sneeze at and MC-powerweapons, upgraded stormbolters and the possibility to take them as troops is great. (A Chapterbanner gives them (and units close to them) an extra attack to boot.)

Deathmasks look cool, but cost too much for the use you'll get out of them. Most units that would give you any trouble at all will have high enough leadership to pass that test most of the time.

I really miss sanguinary priests in your list. To maximise the effect of your assaulttroops a FC/FNP bubble works wonders. In that light you could switch out the Sanguinary Guard and take Honor Guard instead that comes with an extra Sang. Priest

I hadn't considered the adapted Boltguns, but, even with that and being able to be troops, that's still a 5 man max unit. For the same expense as terminators..who also have 2+ armour with better weaponary and inv's.

definitely needs sanguinary priests, the feel no pain they give to all units within 6"(?) is fantastic, much underestimated

and Death company may seem expensive, but so are vanguard, and the death company come with feel no pain as standard... believe me they are worth it. Watch a squad of ten with reclusiarch munch through 36 Necron warriors whilst weathering the returnb fire and having three guys plus the Rec left.... very sturdy, very nasty

Not forgetting as well you can use Lemartes instead of a normal chaplin, meaning they get re-rolls for their hits and wounds..without the extra killpoint of a chaplin.

deffinately... but i was talking it over with a friend who has played blood angels since the day dot and he said, "that death company aren't worth it, not when you can slap a sanguine priest into an assault marines unit, or within 6 inches of one (so cover two units by having them move forward together) and give them most of the bonuses for cheeper"

believe me he has play tested using a large variety of B/A lists and has concluded that 9 times out of 10 he would not take death company but he will always field sanguine priests with assault squads

Aye, but that does mean they won't get wound re-rolls or able to have 30 power weapons in a squad.

you don't even need that... its a case of the classic guard thing - massed dice do far more damage than people expect... so three attacks (inc charge) hitting at I5 cos of the sanguine priest, WP4 means that the worst you'll get is 4+ to hit (generally) which means 15 hits (in a ten man sqd) these are S5 (furious charge) so they wound on 3+ min (if vs guard EQ this is even better) which means 10 wounds... which leaves 3 dead, and thats without the sergeant being equipped with a power sword, or the sanguine priest with a power sword included at all.

I guess you're right. Because, even using them as your troops choices, death company are expensive in both points and cash, for something that isn't a scoring unit. And the priest and chaplin added in make an effective 'Death' company.
