Welcome to the final part of my transformation from Brambleten to Jango and now back again. I felt a new plog was needed as there was so much crap in my last one that i didnt really know where to start deleting stuff and where to start editing out the rest.

Since November, I have done absolutely nothing at all painting wise, but that is starting to change, with my plan to paint 2000 points from any army in the year 2010. To choose from i have roughly 5000 points of marines, 2500 points of tau, 500 points of guard, 4000 points of Lizardmen, 2000 points of Vampires, 3000ish points of High Elves and then a vast array of small units from other armies and lots of Lord of the Rings models that will almost certainly never actually be used in a game again.

For now though, I have 4 pictures of models that are currently WIP.

First, some sort of Bloodbowl Orc, awaiting a wash

Some may remember the last things to get any attention from me in my last plog were my terminators. I was toying with the metallic schemes on them, but i have decided that i dont like it on them, so they're back to being normally painted marines. Power Armour will be metallic, but Dreads and TDA are normal.
The 3 furthest along:

Posted Image

they're actually darker than that in real life at the moment, closer to this:

and another one, slightly behind in the process with no wash on

and thats it for the moment :)
other than the fact i have 14 weeks until I am free of fulltime education forever :)

nope, not Deathwing :P

I did a little more work, so one of the termies got its next layer of yellow

The Orc got a liberal wash of Devlan Mud, so now actually looks reasonable

The skin is closer to the last photo, but i'm still working on the camera as the flash is insanely powerful at night, and its either that or really blury pictures.

I quite like the metallic look on the Imperial Fist. Stops him looking too much like a banana.

Thanks de Selby :) The terminators will only look like Bananas due to the fact that the metallic scheme doesnt seem to work well on them :(

Right, i reckon you lot are a bad influence, all distracting me. you all go away for a day, and I finish my first mini in close on 5 months
Posted Image

If anyone could tell me roughly how many points that little guy equates to from bloodbowl, i'd really appreciate it. otherwise he can go down as 6 points.

I also did more work on my terminators. only one worth showing though.

I do like the Assault cannon conversion. Yellow or bone as the final colour for the terminators?

yellow. thats currently bad moons yellow, and im considering going slightly brighter once i manage to get an even coverage.

the only thing that annoys me about the assault cannon is the lack of a shoulder pad that comes with the DA assault cannon, otherwise it would be a better fit. it doesnt look too out of place, but it still annoys me.

You could always add some fur or a shield to the shoulder? That would make it a little bit more bulky and such.

Else, the mini's are looking good :)

Novogord - i'll have a think about what to put on it, as the sgt of the squad has something similar thanks to me using the DA termi sword. and thanks :)

So i can identify my terminator squads (the yellow ones, not the red ones that should be coming soon), i plan on having different helmet colours. so,
Shooty squad 1 - Red
shooty squad 2 - yellow
shooty squad 3 - blue
shooty squad 4 - black
hitty squad - white

i'm saying that now so when it gets to the combat termies i cant back out of painting white.

todays pictures:
currently on step 2 of El Diablo's red

crap lighting, so it took around 20 shots to get those ones. either more on that one or the yellow one tomorrow :)

edit: deleted the last 2, they look horriffic blown up to normal size

Good work so far, you seem to be getting back into the grove.

The ork thrower is probably worth about 70,000 gold crowns. Does that help?

Thanks Dave. I didnt realise bloodbowl points were so high. i think he can be worth 7 points :) seems more reasonable for a lone orc.

and yes, i'm forcing myself to do half an hour to an hour a night. hopefully i might finish enough models to feel good about being able to spend time painting and spend more time doing that rather than gaming.

talking of paint, the yellow termie got a highlight

i also finish the red on the dead blood angel. its El Diablo red but with 2 watered down layers of baal red not red ink

and a shot of him i quite like. shows off where some of the highlights are and other bits that arent as visible on other images of him

Haven't visited this log yet!

I do like the yellow on the Imperial Fists, a lighter yellow highlight on the armour will finish it off nicely.
The Orcs look good too, pitty I don't have anyone to play Blood Bowl with in Leeds/have no money, looks a good game!

Keep up the good work!

Cheers,

DK

DK - i'll admit its had to see, but there is a highlight of roughly 3:3:1 bad moons yellow: bleached bone: skull white in the last photos of him. its most visible in the shin pads in the first two photos :)
i dont play bloodbowl, I just have 4 random orcs from somewhere, so i'm just painting them up to try and get me interested again

Red's coming along nicely.

Be interested to see how Baal red works for you, not tried it with that way of painting the red yet.

I don't want to be difficult, but shouldn't your name in the topic title be different? ;)

A funny picture that last one ;)

El Diablo - Cheers :)
I dont have any red ink, so i used the next best thing, and i quite like what its left me with. i considered another wash but i decided against it.

Novogord - The title has been changed, dont worry ;) I quite like messing around with the inverted settings on my camera, there are a couple more in this post...

Firstly, pictures of the dead terminator now the red has dried fully

I'll finish his chair off then i'll start the niggly detaily bits.

With the yellow done on the Imperial fist, i started the reds and the purples

Since the Arsenal - Barcelona game was on i spend more time than usual painting, and so have a finished (bar drybrush of the base) Terminator with assault cannon.

and that takes my little tally up to 77 out of 2000 points :)

To be honest I'm not a fan of the red eagle/crux terminatus. I don't think it goes with the yellowy/bone.

The BA dead guy looks to be coming together, just get your bone and glod right and he will look ace.

I wasnt sure whether to go for red or black/grey. I went for red as thats the trim I've given other Imperial Fists. When doing the metallic tester i had the eagle red and the crux black, and there was too much contrast on the model.
