Well, I've wanted to make some more missile launcher teams for the heavy weapons squads....

so here we go, I have made up 3 teams, but need to make a loader for the 3rd team. But again with my other heavy weapons squads, I've wanted to make a scene/still shot from the battle. Let me know what you think guys...

This one needs a lil green stuff to sort out the sleaves, they are airborn after all ;)

This weekend I will be putting tank markings on all my vehicles... oh fun....

Nice sleek hydra, very nice idea ;) Tanks in general look good, but i'm biased as i have a similar scheme going :D but know how you feel about the markings. whilst i like the final look, deciding what markings where to put them, putting them on, weathering them takes up so much time...i'll get around to it eventually. Only managed to do a hellhound squadron so far....

finally missile launcher teams look ace although on that second pic loader looks like he should have a keyboard there instead! :D i think its his left hand but not sure you can do with it...

Missile launcher teams look great. Very characterful. My only gripe is the guy with the binos on the top team and his magnetic lasgun! Looks like its stuck to the bottom of his hand!

Oh, and good luck with the transfers!

Well first stage of the transfers have been done, here is an example;

Posted Image

A close up of the varieties;
The small IG symbol depicts the number of tours (of duty) the vehicle has served,
The Club symbol denotes a battle honour for a reason I need to think of, and put in the Regimental History
The Diamonds denoted a separate battle honour for another reason, probably bringing something large (creature) down

Looking excellent, great thing that you have the fluff in mind as well with the transfers, Maybe the diamonds could be for aerial targets, just taking into consideration the type of vehicle that sports them?

Very true, I do intend to write up a long fluff section for them. But I have other things in mind/priorities at the moment

Camo blending the 2 colour really looks good. Interesting ways using the decals there too :D

Well I still havent managed to finish those 2nd set of Javelin missile launchers, however
I have started to dable in the world of scratch building.

If you remember, I ripped appart my old griffon as I wanted to make an armoured crew compartment?
Well here is my first attempt, including working progress:

Finally to show the crew working in the new area

Posted Image

Just need to add rivets and a little bit of stowage. The hardest part was the front facing panel.
Feed back is very much welcome.

In other news, I have been working on an exploding chimera for the Games Day board:
Posted Image

I have also been lucky with some winnings on ebay,
1x Forge world Basilisk with armoured crew compartment £30
1x Brand new Valkyrie for £32

Also bought a new carry case, the 40k limited edition one, and I've finally managed to get my army out of
the draws by my desk, and they can be well kept.

I will be mainly working on the griffon crew compartment, and I will have another to make one. And then work continues on the chimera once I receive parts from Digits

Right then,
tomorrow I venture off to WHW for a little campaign day/war. My GW of Blackpool will be fighting GW Preston and GW Liverpool to see who is the best, you know the standard thing they've been doing for everyone.

I have 1000 points to play with, and this is what I have come up with for an all round army, (with a theme of course)

so here we go:

Command Squad- Medic, Autocannon and Commander with Power Weapon

Veteran Squad- Meltagun and flamer
Veteran Squad- Meltagun and flamer

3 Vendettas

Platoon Command- Flamer and Grenade launcher
commander with bolter

Troop Squad with Heavy Bolter
Troop Squad with Heavy Bolter

Heavy Weapons Squad with 3 missile launchers

Hyrda

I'll add a picture up later on as I am busy painting up my 2nd Veteran Squad which I built and undercoated last night! Man that was a big feat.

I'll put up results tomorrow when I come back.

Like the crew compartment on the Griffon although always felt that bassy conversions made for better Medusa/Collosus than Griffons.
Nice work on the exploding chimera though.
Looking forward to pics from WHW.

Well just ended here at warhammer world, I'll write up a full review when I get home.

From 3 games I won my first 2 and then lost the third. Ended up finishing 12th overall from 2 stores on our side. I was winning until the last round. But stiff upper lip and all that haha.

Our faction won which was great news. And I also won best objective marker for my line sniper with pistol which was modelled after digits model. Cheers dude ;).

I was scabbed a lil on the paint marking bit but I won't be a sour puss about that..... Pictures tonight. Oh look on the whw facebook page and you'll see some free advertising ;)

Right then, sorry I didnt put a full write up last night, but I was exhausted and I had work this morning.

RIght, here are some pictures from my last 2 games. As I forgot to document the days events.

3rd and Final Game

Posted Image

Posted Image

Basically the games:

1st Game; 5 objectives, table quarters. IG vs Space Wolves....
end result IG 3 objectives SW 1 objective 0 unguarded

this was a good show of timing for me. The Vendettas arrived when needed, and I keep shooting everything I had at the wolves, until the eventually died. Continued until turn 7. Units lost: 1x Veteran Squad and half of a Standard troop Squad.

2nd Game; Annihilation, pitched battled against Inquisition.
end result; Utter destruction caused by the imperial Guard.

Weirdly this was against the GW Preston store manager. He did have a good army, but he admitted the only thing he has against armour was his Vindicare Assassin. Which took out my main Vendetta straight away, but then my others flanked in a good way. And then I sat and rapid fired until the close threat went away. Units lost: 1 vendetta and 1 Veteran Squad and 2 troop squad and platoon command.

3rd Game; Capture and Control with Dawn of War against Blood Angels
end result; destruction caused by the Blood Angels.

Just before the game began, my friend from the Liverpool store told me that his friend (my new opponent) saw my army and said he wanted to fight against it, as it looked like a good match for what he had. Annoyingly, he had one of THOSE army lists... 2 Landraiders with 2 Assault marines without jump packs, Librarian and a storm raven.

Everything was going well when 2 vendettas came in from the flanks and all 3 managed to take down one of the Landraiders and things were looking up. But unfortunately I had disembarked one of the veteran squads to deploy a meltagun to hopefully take out the landraider, so instead I hailed the 5 men and librarian with gun fire, but of course the power armour shrugged off the fire. Then the 2nd landraider came in with the stormraven. The landraider killed off one of the vendettas with the other squad jumping out and assaulting the remains of the veteran squad. The Storm raven managed to take out the other veteran squad with hurricane bolter fire, then finishing off the vendetta with the missiles. One the vendettas were taken out, it was hard to take out the landraider. The most annoying was the fact the anti flyer hydra couldnt DENT the storm raven, but only getting a penetrating blow of armour value 11..... With the last turn the squad guarding the objective was assaulted and destroyed. If there was 1 more turn then the HQ unit could of rained fire down and leave the objective with them, but it wouldnt be a scoring unit. But with the enemy guarding the other very well, it was a Blood Angel victory. Good game, and 1 changing point.

Paint judging was done during the 3rd round. I got 5 for basic painting, 4 for basing, and 3!!! for Details...
But on plus I won the award for best objective marker. I'll post the picture later. Overall, our faction (Blackpool and Southport) won against Liverpool and Preston. I ended up 12th on our side, mainly due to the loss in the final round.

I looked into why I got marked the way I did for painting. The only way to score a 4 due to not having scenic OR forgeworld style bases. 3 for detail, due to the fact the guy couldnt see my squad markings, and army emblem..... After showing him, he said they werent bright and notice-able. Which is a little bit of a shame as as you guys know, my army is hard worn and has faded painting on their shoulder pads. Even alot of fellow members from GW Blackpool were a little shocked the way I was marked. (Ok, mini rant over)

Over all I had a fun day and winning the day was great. Winning best objective marker was a great change.

The guy who won best army had a very nice nurgle army which was heavily converted which helped it stand out. The opponent from my 3rd match won best commander from the enemy force.

I didnt manage to get a picture of the army, so I will set it up and take a picture.

edit: some good advertising, couldnt not =P Posted Image

when the warhammer world facebook page puts up the official pictures up of the awards then you'll see some great advertising ;)

Right, no major news as yet.... Still waiting on my intake date for the Army....

however, my parents (mum n step dad) are moving down to Milton Keynes next week, and due to the house not being big enough to accommodate me as well, I have had to relocate to my dads in Preston. (Hey it could be worse)

So that means i have a new work station etc, I will post up pictures once Im fully settled in etc. as I need to buy some stuff for my modelling etc, as I dont want to screw up this new make shift desk.

I don't have much in the way of stuff to do for my grenadiers, except rivet my griffons and then paint them. However I have agreed to do some custom chaotic guardsman for a friend for a campaign for the local GW. I will post up pictures as and when I do them. Till next time.....

Wow, been a long time. Ive been doing some painting and have bought a stormlord for £50 on ebay.

Will have some pictures later on this week. But the main news is that I have now started regularly gaming at Worthy Gaming, which is the store for Worthy Painting. I also have a commission going through with Worthy Painting, and that will remain a secret until its finish ;)

I have also been chosen for Army of the month with RedSteel Gaming: Preston. I'll upload photos and the video when it is done.
