i'm actually quite liking the new chimera, it does tie in well with the new hellhound (and the dozer is nice) but frankly , as said before the new basilisk is a pig, £5 more and no heavy weapon troops sprue, absolute gits, as for the venerable dreadnought its nice but not a jot on the forgeworld stuff |

Love the Kans and Deff Dread but the thing I like the most is the random flash git with Squig Targeter ![]() Oh and the Marine dread is ace too. |

I'm liking the dread, if pricy, not really suited to my army, but nice enough. But the Flash Git... well its nice, I guess, but I can hardly build a mob out of a single metal mini... Not like there's anything remotely like the model in any of the sprues to convert up anything similar at all - especially since apart from the Nobs kit there's almost zero spare parts on most of the Ork infantry kits, well worth having at least. So it's just the same as it was - make your own or go without. Sure he could be the leader (unless you pay the points for Badrukk in the mob too) but its not going to fit in with anything you could kit bash out unless you're an expert with the greenstuff. So random display piece really, bit of a missed opportunity in my mind. |

The Bassie and Chimera (and IG vehicles in general) are the hardest working models in the GW range. Are GW trying to tell me that after 15 years the plastic bassie molds still haven't paid themselves off yet? |

looking at the chimera kit, alot of the accessories are on it, just stowage missing, tho I still feel the codex change should have had more weapon options. As for the basilisk kit, using the word 'New' you could sue them under the trade description act, its still got the flaws of the old one |

The Ven Dread kit is a missed opprtunity, but if I was a Grey Knights player I'd be happy. |

I agree with you, but I wonder how many parts he comes in? If the head and gun are seperate at least you could mix and match with nob parts to get a plausible unit of distinguishable gits. |

As far as the current russes go i was saying to sachiel the other day that im getting closer and closer to a state of affairs where i will just use my own fully scratchbuilt tank. It is a sad state of affairs though... and jase: Right there with ya man, chimera chassis, pcard and evergreen tube

that does sound good, i might have to lay my hands on that. I have enough of an interest in "different" games to want that, as opposed to apocalypse (never going to happen) and cities of death (woo buildings )

Ok for those interested there is a video review of Battle missions on Bell of lost souls http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2010/02/40k-review-battle-missions-video.html Bassie wasted opportunity but I feel its a stop gap. they have deep sixed the old chimera moulds so there was never much choice than to go to the new chassis. what is dissapointing is that the oportunity was not taken to give us a new 'bassie' sprue. I do think we will see one at some point though. I cant believe that they will not take the oportunity to build the other options for both chimera and russ chassis. I really like the ven dread, dont know what some peoples problem is. The metal one was hideous. the FW ones are all very nice but are resin (above some peoples skill level and have a 'fear of cutting up a £30 model' stigma attached to them. This plastic one therefore represents the happy medium and in the hands of one of the many conversion heroes that inhabit this forum, can be turned into something special. I shall be aquiring one of these. The Ork stuff well its all good. I really like all the new generation of ork models and look forward to seing what they do with the last bits of 'old' stuff that remains. NOW! WHERE IS THIS PIECE OF RUMOURED SCENERY!!!!!! (says it loud in the hope that those fine fellow of Nottingham ...and I dont mean Robin Hoods posse or is it Krew these days? I 'm just not suffiently down with the kids don't'you know get to hear it)

I really like these new release. Venrable Dreadnought, there so much on the spure to change & pretty much do what ever you want. I think with the release of codex Blood Angels he will make a good Librarian Dreadnought, just get a =][= scale force weapon While Ork stuff.........while doing a commission for a friend, I pray for the day we see plastic. After building 9 metal killer kan & two deff dread, never wanted to do that again as though the metal once where cool, to much of a pain in the rear Deff Dread, I'm looking that buy six of these, five for my Ork army the other for bits Killer Kans, I really like the idea of selling them in three & I think it pretty good what we are getting price wise work out £9 a Killer kan. I'll be buy four boxes, three for the ork & again another one for bits in the army. I can see the Ork stuff being sold out pretty quick when release.
Possible still keep them to allow people a chose between the plastic & the FW once?? |

The venerable dread comes with Plasma so I will be buying a few and tooling them up, combined with the melta option in the AoBR box I will have all the arms I require.... Would have been nice for a £35 Artillery kit from GW though, with the bits to make a basie/medusa etc and also see an "air Defence" kit with manticore/hydra options too.....I feel they have missed out there... |
